A technophobe get an iPod
Until earlier this year I had never owned a computer, let alone an iPod. So. I got an iPhone, an iPod and a MacBook. In that order. If i could figure it out with NO HELP, anyone can.

Died 1 yr and 2 weeks after I got it...
Died 1 yr and 2 weeks after I got it... ITUNES is clunky and all the content is Apple proprietary. The unit functioned ok when it worked, but dying just after the 1 yr is pretty bad for what you are paying. I really don't like how everything from ITUNES is Apple m4v for videos (can't convert to MP4) and you have to convert music to MP3. Video is especially a problem since I have purchased the TV Show or Movie but Apple won't let me play it on any other player of which I have many. Many people don't realize unless or until they want to use some other player than an IPOD that they will have to convert the music and won't be able to play the video. Like I said the unit functioned ok (nothing special) when it worked. It was expensive compared to other non Apple products, but I gave it a shot and probably wouldn't purchase another IPOD again. I've had IPODs, Sansa's, Zen's, and a Zune. The Sansa and the Zen were great for basic MP3 playback, but I bought the first generation Zune 30 gig and that thing still works perfectly for Music and Video

Audiophile Seeks Music Vault
I bought this item (Apple 120GB iPod) a little over a year ago. Shortly after, I got an iPhone (3Gs - 8GB). My plan was to make my 120GB iPod a miniature vault to carry around the 600+ CD's I've accumulated, plus a few photos and videos. The added games were a nice feature, too (though, iPhone/iPod Touch has far better ones).

The battery life was phenomenal. I could go days without charging.

Sound quality was good. I used it mostly in my car or when traveling, so the sound was typically limited to my headphones/speakers.

It was tough to watch movies or play games, as the screen size was relatively small (I do have an iPhone, mind you) and the wheel was kind of touchy for any games.

I also got accessories to make this thing a tank. I wanted it to survive an apocalypse, so I'd still have my whole collection of music wherever I go. I also have at least 3 backups of my music collection (what can I say, I'm an audiophile!). This is where it failed, however. I recently had this in my back pocket and was listening to music on headphones while doing yardwork, and managed to catch the headphone cable on my elbow and send the sucker spiraling out towards a slab of concrete.

I thought I was lucky, and my accessories had paid off. It worked for roughly another day and a half. Then, it abruptly stopped, and gave me the red "X". [...]

After trying multiple times to get it to go to disk mode & recover...well...it flatlined. Since I'm over a year out (by 4 months), my warranty seems to have expired. So I'd recommend the warranty, first off. Hindsight is 20/20, right?

The nearest Apple store is a ways away, so I opted to have it sent in for repair/service. It was ~$160 upfront just to send it in for repairs. For a measly $60 more, I can just get the *NEWEST* generation @ 160GB.

Like I said, I have the iPod backed up on at least 3 different hard drives (computer & external HD's), so I'm not upset about the loss of music/etc. It just seems like this is a disposable unit, at a ~$200 annual fee.

I'm going to try stopping by an Apple store next time I'm near one, but otherwise, I'll just wait a few years and see if something better comes along (which, I'm guessing will cost roughly ~$220.00 for the "next best thing").

I don't see the sense in spending $160.00 to fix an old unit, nor buying a new unit at $220 (the cost of a 7th Gen right now...which was the cost of my 6th Gen a year ago).

I just hope Apple stops painting themselves into a corner (I mean really, my AT&T coverage leaves a bit to be desired, and their "trade secret" approach to all things Apple leaves a gaping hole for Google, et al, to fill). I'm now on the hunt for a massive storage & portable MP3 player that will survive ad eternum...or at least 3-4 years.

Oh, and my many efforts with Windows based MP3 players have been no better - Apple has that cornered on behalf of software & compatibility. At least with iTunes, I'm not losing my music files due to DRM corruption.

I want my money back!
It came quicker than i expected it to arrive, however, 1: it WILL NOT load the music! Not only will it not load the music but 2:it causes itunes to freeze while i have the ipod connected. 3: It DOSE'NT show up while ITUNES is open! This is TOO much of a headache for me... i DEMAND a FULL REFUND!

I love this iPod
I love this iPod. Lots of space and room. Easy to use and install. Very durable, I have dropped it a few times and it still works.

The best form factor iPod ever made
Now that mine is upgraded to a larger battery and a 32GB Compact Flash drive, this is the form factor iPod made.
It isn't physically to small or larger and very very sturdy, especially with the silicon case I have for it.
And with 32GB it has PLENTY of storage for music. I would buy another for a back up for when/if this one dies.

Tough as nails
I have owned one of these units for long enough to need a second battery. I would recommend to have the battery replaced professionally rather than trying to do it yourself (cost around $61.00). Unit has held up very well to the normal wear and tear (I would recommend a case, but they are hard to find now).

Not bad but if you can afford it go newer
I've had this product for four years and have had two of the problems mentioned.

After about 2 years it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 20 minutes like mentioned.

It won't play songs purchased on iTunes sometimes. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't.

I just upgraded to an iPod Touch and LOVE IT! This one is much cheaper though and like another said get it new and be prepared for these problemes down the road. Otherwise it's a great player.

Could be better
The iPod mini isn't a bad little personal music player. Unfortunately, it isn't a good one, either. It has a few issues.

Most significantly, many people (including me) have had problems with the iPod suddenly refusing to play music purchased from the iTunes store. Apple is characteristically unsupportive. Be prepared for some potential frustration.

After a few months of use, the click wheel can get stuck. While many people love it, I would prefer some good old-fashioned buttons that have less of a tendency to clog up with the detritus of life.

Overall, it has a good sound and is a decent unit for the money.

Like Always, Apple made a Great Product

Great Case
This is a great case. It protects the ipod. It works better than the silicone case. It is a little hard to take off, but just use a knife or a key with a little twist and it will open.

Off the record, look at the picture of the iPod it is jailbroken LOL.

Great product for the money. Also bought an Anti-glare/ Scratch resistant film. Powersupport TU300LL/A Anti-Glare for ITouch. Make sure you place the film 1st. Than snap on the case.

Awesome
I have a 2nd generation Ipod touch and it fits my Ipod perfectly. It will protect your Ipod, granted I didn't drop it to make sure but why would I even try it? The only thing I don't like about this snap on case is that it is a pain to get off your Ipod. I need to take it off to dock it if I want to listen to my music through speakers and I can never get it off! Oh well all I really care about is it protects my pod. And for the price how can you go wrong?

Great case!
Exactly what I was looking for in a sturdy case. Easy to attach & remove if necessary. The strap makes a very handy addition too.

Good with some flaws.
This is a good product for the price. However my mic does not fit in the corner as the plastic on the case is too bulky in that area. The case feels ok and does protect the iPod so in that respect this is a good product. I would rate this a 2 stars because I would like all of my attachments to work or at least I would like to be able to remove the case. The case goes on tight but it's not coming off. I would honestly not recommend this case if you have any after market attachments you plan to use with the auxiliary port that might be of a questionable width.

Does not charge iphone
Package says charges iPhone. It does not. Seller stated after refund that it is for older phones?????? Tested with known good iphone usb cable that does charge using my computer. Plug it into this adapter, no charge.

Works for my purposes
This item does the job. It looks nice, and works well. I wasn't sure what I would use the USB for, but if you think hard enough you will find something to use it for.

Works great, looks slick
Not much to say here. Does exactly what it is supposed to. All three outlets work, and the USB is great for charging my iPod and my phone. If I had any complaint about it, it would be that the cord is about three inches too short for me to hide it in the center console, but why should I hide it? This thing's beautiful!

Simple and effective
I purchased this to hard wire in to my dash on my IS300, it fit perfectly in that no man's land below the radio and behind the ash tray; best of all, the plugs don't get in the way.

Great Product
I love my iPod nano, or should i say "loved!" I had an iPod nano, the first generation for many years. Recently it just stopped working. I dont know what happened but all of a sudden when i went to turn it on, a black screen with a gray apple apeared then it all shut off. I tried to charge it, i gave it a while, then i pluged it in again, nothing else happened. I didnt try to get it repaired because i wanted an iPod touch now anyway, and the cost to send it in, get it repaired and get it back cost over one-hundred dollars, and may get repaired or not. other than that fact the ipod is great, it has three games pre-loaded onto it, it has lots of room for songs (four GB) and also has exras such as timers and such. It really is a great product. Although some of the latest models of iPods that came out have much more to offer. If you are considering getting one used, make sure it is working proper and go for it. You wont regret it!
