Nice little gizmo for MP3
It is simplicity just put in 3 batteries and push the on button. It has a volume control on either side, up and down. It comes with a small cord and plug so you don't have to use the one recommended on the page from Amazon. In fact, the cord they push is wrong, for an extension you need a male/female cord not male/male that they show. The sound is okay for such a small pair of speakers.
WONDERFUL SOUND!!!!
THIS LITTLE UNIT IS GREAT. I DO AGREE WITH SOME OTHER REVIEWS THAT THE PLUG IN CORD IS TOO SHORT BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKS GREAT. I HAVE IT IN MY HOME OFFICE AND YOU CAN HERE IT ONE STORY UP...
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY ONE WHO LIKES TO BE OUTDOORS. BATTERIES LAST A LONG TIME TOO..
MY DAUGHTER HAS ALREADY TRIED TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME SO I AM BUYING HER ONE TOO.
really poor sound quality
I liked this speaker for its portability, but it has two MAJOR drawbacks. The first is the positioning of the power button. ANY time I put it inside a bag or backpack, the power button is easily pushed and the batteries are drained.
Also, the sound quality on this devise is extremely poor. It's nice and loud when turned up, but there's hardly any bass. I'd highly recommend spending a little bit more money and getting the Altec-Lansing iM237 portable speaker. It doesn't cost that much more, and in a side-by-side comparison, the Altec blows away the iLuv.
Amazing things come in tiny packages
I use it with my laptop mostly and the volume is perfect. The last speaker I had that looked very similar to this one was terrible, especially because you couldn't adjust the volume. This is also tiny, cute, lightweight - obviously I can't say enough good things about it!
Unacceptable
Bought this speaker along with the Genius SP-i200 and the Altec Lansing iM-237. This iLUV performed a distant third. First, the battery cover was almost impossible to open & close. The sound was terrible, muddy sounding with very little volume. I gave it away.
Both of the others are fine performers in every dept.

Kenwood Review
I purchased this unit for a 1995 Nissan Sentra and could not be more happy. I keep the Sentra around because I drive a lot and it gets great gas mileage. This unit allows me to use my iPhone and worked seamless after install. The unit was easy to install and was no hassle to set up and use. I recommend this to any one for a low end unit. Thanks Kenwood, you have made my driving experience much more pleasurable.
Kenwood Stereo Kdc-mp345U
The stereo looks great in my car. It sounds fantastic and I found it easy to use.
Chose this over a lot of others
I did a lot of research when looking for a receiver to replace my factory unit in my 2000 Miata. I wanted to be able to play my iPod video and use a USB thumbdrive without getting into a lot glitz. For the money this Kenwood is a solid buy.
Pros:
-I love the power this puts out. The clarity of the music that I get even with the top down is fantastic.
-The controls are fairly intuitive and I like that it has hard buttons which are easy to find and use while driving. There is a small learning curve as far as customizing your settings, but it's fairly straightforward. The main rotary knob has a solid feel to it and is easy to adjust while driving.
-The display is simple without a lot of dancing lights and so on.
-Hooks up easily with my iPod, scrolls through all the normal iPod settings: Genre, artist, albums, etc with ease.
-The Ipod also charges when hooked into the USB port.
-The USB port has a cover which feels solid when moving it.
-Don't know how much I'll use the remote, but it is nicely designed and feels well made.
Cons:
-Sunlight seriously wipes out the display screen, making it difficult to read without straining your eyes.
-The unit activates my power antenna whenever it's turned out, even if the radio isn't engaged. I don't love having the antenna constantly up.
For the price, I'm well pleased with this Kenwood. I looked around, and couldn't find a receiver that would solve all my wants in this price range. The Kenwood seems like it's well made, it handles lots of formats and is easy to use. All in all a good receiver.
Couldnt have expected less from kenwood
I made a purchase from Nigeria on 20th July, got it delivered at a friend's place in Maryland third day.
Installation was quite easy, navigation is wonderful, works as designed. The only negative side is that when a thumb drive hangs on and you decide to listen to the tuner/CD, if you switch off engine and restart, the unit defaults back to USB even though you were not on USB mode. This is strange, hope Kenwood would do something about this. Notwithstanding, it's the best you can get for that price anywhere.
Perfect for use with iPhone or iPod
Purchased this for my husband to use in his 2003 Toyota Corolla. He has an iPhone, and this unit is advertised as working well with iPods or iPhones. It works great!
USB INPUT
You use the standard iPod cable that goes from the bottom, wide, data plug at the bottom of the iPod, and has USB at the other end (same cable you connect to your computer with). The Kenwood unit received the USB end.
CONTROLLING THE IPOD
Depending on the order you plug things in (if you are already playing music on the iPod, or not), you can use the iPod or iPhone to control your music selections (using click wheel, etc) OR you can use the Kenwood unit to control your music selections. My husband likes controlling the iPod by using the Kenwood unit. I prefer to control the iPod itself, since I'm familiar with its navigation. You can control the iPod even while it's plugged into the unit (unlike the Sony unit I have in my car, which once it's plugged in, you can't control the iPod without unplugging it - irritating).
CHARGES IPOD
Since you're using the data/charging port, it charges your iPod while you're driving, so you don't have to worry about draining your battery on a long road trip.
AUX INPUT
There is also an auxiliary input, if someone wants to play music in your car, but has a different mp3 unit. The aux plug-in receives a cable connected to the mp3 player's headphone jack. This of course, will not charge the player's battery, and will not give you data (song titles, etc.) on the Kenwood screen. So this is why the USB port is so great if you're buying this for primary iPod or iPhone use.
INSTALLATION
We did not purchase any special "kits" for installing this unit. My husband is relatively technical, and he had no problem installing this in his 2003 Corolla, using only the pieces in the box (well, some tools like screwdriver, and saudering iron to connect wires were also necessary). It took him a couple hours. I saw that some other people had purchased harness wires or install kits along with this unit, but that wasn't necessary for us.
And also, this is an amazingly low price for any car stereo, not to mention one that works this great with iPods!!!

May not work with other devices.
I bought this solar charger in the hopes that it would charge other usb devices in addition to my iPod. It doesn't charge the most important one, a Garmin Edge 305 cycling computer. In fact, it drains the battery rather than charging it. Further, Brunton's customer support on this issue was poor. The charger works fine with my 4th-generation iPod, but I'd rather not carry a separate charging system for every device, so I'm now looking for a better option for solar charging.
Good Product, but TERRIBLE advertising...
First off, I live in Sacramento, CA. So it's not the sunniest location, but still pretty dang sunny.
I purchased the Solaris i6 with the intention to be able to charge any of the following: Ipod Video, Ipod Shuffle, Treo Smartphone, Garmin GPS, Bluetooth headset, & AA or AAA batteries. Usage would be mainly around the house, but I am an outdoor enthusiast that would disappear into backcountry whenever possible taking my trusty Ipod as my only real tie to civilization. Therefore, portability, simplicity & durability would be paramount for my outings.
At first tests, the Solaris was TECHNICALLY capable of charging everything EXCEPT the Ipod Video. The shuffle, phone, GPS & Bluetooth were fabulous - no problems there. The AA & AAA batteries were close to impossible. Majority of chargers out there are just not able to work with the current that's created from these panels. I did find a charger that could, however the limit was a single battery at a time! If 2 batteries were placed in the charger, the lights would flicker a little -- but charge. The SECOND a cloud, haze, or anything (possibly even a ladybug!) passed over the sun, the threshold was broken & the battery charger would flash "error." Unfortunately, the charger would either sit there flashing error (& no longer charging) until I came back later thinking my batteries are charged, or I would have to reset the charger by either removing the batteries & re-inserting (or unplugging & re-plugging the charger to the solar panels). So... technically, there probably is a charger out there that can work off of the current that the i6 produces, but in my experience -- I'm as close to finding that charger as I am to finding a cure for Mad Cow Disease. So, expect the stated "3-4 hrs to charge 4 AA batteries" to actually read, "3-4 hrs PER AA battery." As for the Ipod... IMPOSSIBLE as well using the provided Ipod cable. I figured I had a defective Ipod cable -- as the terminal contacts were too small for me to test with my voltage meter. Concluding so, I exchanged the Solaris for another one hoping that the Ipod issue would be resolved. Well, the problem was not resolved.
I can only conclude 1 of 2 conclusions, either: 1) I have terrible luck, & got 2 units with defective cables, or 2) the i6 is not capable of creating enough juice to charge the Ipod Video (at least in my 95 degrees, full-sun early September conditions here in Northern CA). I'm assuming scenario #2. That said, I think it's terrible to tout a product specifically for the Ipod -- yet it can't deliver. As a manufacturer, I'd have tested the product against available generations of Ipods that use the connection that you are providing. There is no disclaimer (except that the lighting conditions may vary from our test type deal, etc.), so it really is disappointing. If you have a USB car adapter however, you can use this with the normal Ipod USB cable & the Brunton provided Female Cig adapter. This WILL charge the Ipod -- but you now have to use 3 items vs. the 1 Brunton Ipod cable. For some this may be insignificant, but for me -- this feels a little jacked-up when you consider the Ipod cable is about $10... which means some of my purchase price is completely wasted. Not to mention the fact that I now have to carry more bulk when outdoors.
So bottom-line, this product is capable of charging an Ipod -- as well as a good majority of SMALL electronics. UN-intentional deception aside, I like the Solaris for what it is capable of delivering in such a portable package. I will however grade them hard, as I believe in delivering on a promise or claim.
On a side note, I am impressed with the Solaris line to the point that I am currently contemplating purchasing the 26 as well for larger electronics (digital SLR batteries & portable DVD players), for longer comfortable basecamps away from power.
One last point to consider... if you are purchasing these units SOLELY for emergency power (cell phones), you might want to consider the 12 or 26 watt Solaris instead. The 6 watts work beautifully under sunny conditions, & at about 25%-50% under light to moderate overcast conditions (but still enough to activate my phone charger). I would doubt though that enough current would be produced under heavier overcast (conditions typically associated with emergency situations) to initiate charging for most cell phones. For those of you thinking, "it's for situations like car trouble on a sunny day (not natural disasters)," let's face it, why would you need something as expensive as solar?... why not go with something like an extra battery... easier & cheaper to buy & carry. With a larger Solaris, there is a greater chance that the panels will collect enough energy to trigger your chargers, as a 10-15% output from the 26 would be most likely enough to activate charging. Just something to think about...
Very weak solar panels
I really thought that this was exactly what I have been looking for...but it is not. If you are looking for a solar energy source for charging your iPod or newer cellular phone, look somewhere else. I own several Brunton products, and I've never had a problem with them before. Even though the specifications listed claim to be able to charge an iPod, it actually takes TWO or even THREE of these very expensive panels linked together to charge an iPod touch or iPhone. It took two Brunton i6 panels linked together to charge an iPod 3G nano, 80GB video iPod, and my Samsung Instinct - even in direct sunlight. Although this item even lists "iPod" specifically in its name, I would have to recommend the Brunton 12-watt or even 26-watt solar panels to do the job. The i6 *may* have enough power to charge some of the much older iPods, such as the 1G and 2G nano, but I do not have any old iPods to test.
Charge iPhone with sunshine
I use this to charge my iPhone. It works. It won't charge the battery while the phone is on but it seems maintain the level. I don't see this as an issue because I use this where there is no cell service, and no power - I'm just using the phone as an iPod at this point. The sun is bright where I am in the west. Mine came without the storage sack and I emailed Brunton. They got back to me quickly and mailed me one. I give it four stars as the instruction book doesn't mention it working with an iPhone I just had to take a chance.
It does come with an array of cables: cigarette lighter socket, battery clamps, and various barrel connectors for charging other stuff. I haven't tried any of that at this point.
Also note that charging electronics in the hot sun is always tricky. One needs to shade or protect the device somehow so it doesn't get overheated while keeping the panel in the bright sunlight.

Book is very informative for non-techy people.
This book is great as it provides all of the information you need to understand the functions of your iPod. I really enjoyed reading it and am now able to fully utilize my iPod.
Organized for people who own the Ipod Touch, or that and more
This guide was disappointing. Chapter two is called "Touching the iPod Touch", and it introduces many of the concepts used later in the book. All the other iPods (Nano, Shuffle, Classic)are discussed in chapter three, but often the author asks the reader to remember what he's read in chapter two, or assumes the concepts are already understood. This means you have to read chapter two carefully, whether you have a Touch or not. Moreover, it isn't always clear whether things said in chapter two are generally true or are true only of the Touch. If you own a Touch, or if you own a Touch plus other types of iPods, and you want a guide, this book may work; but otherwise this organization makes it awkward to understand.
Also, this book will hide all the number keys in the top row of a standard PC keyboard when held one way, and will hide 1 through 7 if held the other way. It's pretty big. This is not a pocket-sized book.
On the plus side, it is inexpensive, and it did explain to me (with a little digging) several things I didn't figure out using the iPod and iTunes help systems / .pdf manuals. It is certainly better than nothing and is a useful addition.
In comparison, this book was nowhere near as informative and helpful as "iPod the Missing Manual" by J. D. Biersdorfer with David Pogue, which is perhaps 20% bigger and costs about twice as much. I bought the Missing Manual some weeks after buying the Pocket Guide, and wish I could have bought it first (and then would not have bought the Pocket Guide).
the ipod & Itunes pocket guide
a wonderfully informative book> answered all the questions ihad plus a few more!!, The sort of guide that Apple should automatically let you have when you purchase their product. All sorts of interesting facts and gizmos that really impress friends when you show them.
Good comprehensive guide to iPod and iTunes
This is a good, well-written pocket guide to the iPod and iTunes that covers all models of iPods (iPod Touch and the "traditional" iPods), so you won't find the entire book relevant. As an iPod Touch owner however, I did find the coverage of that model pretty comprehensive nevertheless.
The chapters on the iTunes Store, iTunes Wi-Fi and Apps Stores, are good and there are some nice tips on usage.
I would have liked to see some more troubleshooting information, particularly on setting up the Wifi connection, which can be a real pain.
Overall, this book is a good buy, particularly for iPod Touch users.
A comprehensive pocket guide that can also be read on the iPhone and iPod Touch
I already have the paperback edition, but I decided to buy the Kindle edition because from today on (March 4, 2009), Kindle books can also be read on the iPhone and iPod Touch! This means you will be able to buy and read Kindle version books even when you are outside of the U.S. Wow! Amazon will make a lot more money.
This pocket guide to iPod and iTunes has 333 pages (paperback) and covers all models of iPods. A large portion of pages are devoted to the iPod Touch because this model has many more functions and features compared to the traditional iPods. There is also good coverage of the iTunes Store, and a chapter on the iTunes Wi-Fi and Apps Stores. The last chapter is on usage tips and troubleshooting.
This book is the most recently (Jan 6, 2009) published book on iPod and iTunes available in Kindle edition. Having this in my iPod Touch means that I can always look up something about iPod/iTunes or simply browse around (and leave the physical book at home). The cost of this Kindle edition is also lower than the paperback version. For only $6.39, this is a very good deal!

Ipod Nano Accessory
this is the WORST purchase I ever made. I do not recommend this product to anyone
Bad fitting sleeve
the silicone sleeve was the right size but the screen hole and menu circle does not match up to a nano iPod.
Great for the gym
Works great for the gym. Just have be careful to make sure your ipod doesn't slide out too much since it's completely open at the bottom, so repetitive motion may loosen it a bit. I'm pretty happy with it otherwise.
Update: a quick fix to keep the ipod from sliding out of the silicone case is to apply an invisible skin (such as the Best Skins Ever). I found out that this works quite well, as the skin makes the ipod much more grippy and keeps it from falling out of the case.
perfect for gym use...
i use it daily @ the gym && i've yet to have a real problem w/ it. my only complaint is that there's no protection for the face of the ipod. otherwise, i'm thrilled.
iPod Nano
Strong metal case, small, thin easy to use program. Very durable.
Everything is Apple proprietary. Unless you are one of those people who likes redoing something that is working perfectly fine there is no simple way to transfer your MP3 music to the iPod. Don't plan on having your iPod Nano up & running for a couple weeks.
Unless you currently have an iPod or an Apple Computer all your music has to be converted to their iPod format.
You have to subscribe to the iTunes store and give them your credit card
All of my CD's are backed up on my external hard drive, I have never downloaded a song legal or illegal, yet it told me I needed a license agreement.
I have a folder with the top hits from each CD, it contains 247 songs. When I loaded that folder into the iPod it only accepted 26 songs. It said the others were not compatible.
When I tried to load them individually it said I needed to download a license agreement. When I clicked on the get license agreement it told me ("Browser does not have "Microsoft Windows Media Services" plug ins installed). Note: my Dell notebook computer is less than a year old.
If you use Firefox you cannot download the license agreement or the Microsoft plug ins you have to go back to Internet Explorer.

returned it - the same problem
The first one I got: the volume knob didn't work, so I sent it back. Now, after sitting on my nightstand for some months, I have the same problem. Don't buy it!
Volume Button Still Broken!
I read the reviews like many others and hoped that the volume issue would be fixed by now, but alas! Silly me for having hopes! They still have bad volume buttons. I would feel duped, except since I read the reviews I really should have known better! I bought 2 clocks and one is working fine (although it came a little scratched) and the other has a completetly broken volume dial and somewhat broken brightness dial. I'm sending it back today and getting a replacement, so cross your fingers for me! I'll update the review when I get the new one in.
BTW - This would be a 5 Star review if it wasn't broken! The clock's so cute, and I love the analog/digital display. Great for hooking up my iPod, and I love that it has 2 alarms. Too bad RCA didn't use quality parts when assembling these!
Says it is a digital radio... don't be fooled
I bought this radio for my dog to have some noise while I'm at work. I bought it because it was a good price and it claimed the radio was digital.
Yes, the radio has a digital DISPLAY, but the dial is completely analog. I was expecting a button, similar to what's in your car, that will just move to the next frequency, instead you have the same uncertainty with this dial as you had with any analog radio except you have the digital display to tell you "right" where you're dialed into. Of course, more often than not I'm finding that to get a station, say 99.5, I have to set it to 99.4 to get good reception.
The clock is retro in look if you turn on the digital "analog" clock. The cool blue is nice and the alarm functionality is nice. Being able to adjust the brightness of the display is a bonus.
With all this said, my parents ordered the same radio for their puppy as I did for mine, however they had to go through THREE returns to get one that worked properly. The first the volume dial did nothing and the volume was blaringly loud. The second the radio dial wouldn't adjust frequencies. On the third, the volume dial dial was again broken; it would just slide without any resistance and wouldn't adjust the volume.
I wouldn't really recommend this clock if you don't purchase from somewhere with a liberal return policy given the number of issues my family has experienced with this radio.
Whats up w/the volume!
I feel slightly foolish b/c I read the reviews prior to ordering and saw that people had a problem w/the volume dial...but I ordered it anyway. It looked like a nice alarm clock that I could connect my Zune or any MP3 device; all I wanted.
It just arrived today and just like the other reviews say, the volume dial is non-operational! Everything else appears to work...this could have been a 5 star rvw, I can't understand why Amazon hasn't addressed this issue yet, unless they don't pay attention to the reviews....bad business
When life gives you lemons... return them
After reading the negative reviews here, I still liked this little radio so much that I ordered it anyway. I was hoping I'd luck out and get a non-lemon, but mine has the same volume wheel issue that many people have mentioned. Actually, it worked for a few hours, but after a couple of volume adjustments, it went "Syke!" and now the wheel just spins. Too bad, since it's such a cute little thing, is perfect for my desk at work, and has an input for my iPod Shuffle. Oh well.. returning it.

Fragile, short cord, bad audio quality
I never got to enjoy them because they keep unplugging from my MP3 player and the cord is so short I have to keep it in my hand when playing.
