FM Radio--it Gives You Yet Another Way to Rock There's always something great on the FM dial. And now the FM tuner lets you hear your favorite morning shows on your commute and discover new music while you work out. It even shows you what and who you're listening to.1 With Live Pause, You'll Never Miss a Beat Say you need to take a quick break from listening to your favorite radio station. iPod nano lets you pause it with a click. Another click and you're listening to your station again. You can even rewind as far back as 15 minutes, then fast-forward to catch up to the live broadcast. iTunes Tagging--the New-Fashioned Way to Discover Music It's quite a dilemma: You're listening to the radio and you hear a song you like, but when you go to iTunes, you can't remember the name or even who sings it. Enter iTunes Tagging. Now, you can use the Click Wheel on iPod nano to tag the song. iTunes creates a list of all your tagged songs so you can easily preview or purchase them when you sync iPod nano to iTunes. VoiceOver--the Talk of the Music World VoiceOver tells you the title and artist of the songs you listen to. And does it so seamlessly, you'll be surprised at how brilliant it is. Let's Talk VoiceOver What if you're listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist? Just use the Click Wheel or the controls on the optional Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic and VoiceOver tells you the song name and who's performing it without interrupting your music. So you're never distracted from your ride or run by looking down at your screen. The nano now includes an FM radio with iTunes Tagging and Live Pause functions. Capture a thought, a reminder, a class lecture, or any audio recording you want with Voice Memos. The new Pedometer counts every step you take. Or add Nike+ shoes and a Nike + iPod Sport Kit for the perfect workout partner. How it Works You'll notice how smoothly and easily VoiceOver works. A lot of thought went into creating an iPod nano that not only talks, but says the right things. It all begins with iTunes and its seamless integration with iPod nano. First, iTunes reads your song information, then uses the VoiceOver Kit to generate the announcements for the songs, artists, and playlists. Just sync your iPod nano to your computer and it really speaks to you. It Speaks Multiple Languages Your music library has songs from all over the world--a love song from France, a bolero from Spain, a pop tune from Japan. Luckily, VoiceOver speaks fluent song. iTunes selects the language and best voice for your song titles and artist names. It looks at song data, like the title, artist, and album information, then applies intelligent algorithms to choose the right language. For example, iTunes recognizes the song "Ya Viene el Sol by Ozomatli as a Spanish song, so your iPod nano will automatically speak that song title and artist in Spanish. If you prefer to hear that information spoken in another language, you can change the designated VoiceOver language for that song in iTunes. Hit the Ground Running--Or Walking With the Nike + iPod Sport Kit (sold separately) and a built-in pedometer to help keep you motivated and track your fitness progress, iPod nano makes working out less routine. Step it up with the New Pedometer You take your iPod nano with you everywhere. Why not use it to stay fit? iPod nano now doubles as a Pedometer. It uses the built-in accelerometer to keep track of your steps and help you meet your fitness goals. You can create a daily step goal or set it to Always On so it counts all the steps you take, all the time. Which makes iPod nano the ideal exercise partner. Rock and Run Your shoes and your iPod nano team up to maximize your run. See the minutes tick by. Watch the miles unfold. Hear real-time voice feedback. All to your favorite music, including your chosen Power Song--that one song that always gets you through the home stretch. Rock the Gym Take Nike + iPod to the gym and minute by minute, mile by mile, you're motivated by more than music. Connect your iPod nano to a Nike + iPod compatible cardio machine. Record your pace, time, and distance as you work out. With iPod nano, every trip to the gym becomes a new challenge. Sync When you're finished, connect your iPod nano to your Mac or PC. iTunes automatically sends your workout data to nikeplus.com. Every workout and every run is there, ready for you to review. Get pumped for your next run with recommended challenges, custom training programs, and maps of new routes to try. Or share motivation with runners across the world. Note to Self: Voice Memos Are Here The built-in mic lets you capture a thought, a reminder, a class lecture, or any audio recording you want with Voice Memos. iTunes: Your Greatest Hits It's even easier to organize, browse, grow, and share your digital music and video collection with the new iTunes. And now you can save items with a wish list and enjoy iTunes extras--bonus features on select albums and movies--like lyrics, photos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes media. Love my nano
This is the perfect size for taking to the gym. Battery life is fantastic - I can't say enough about it.
Great deal, looked brand new when i got it.
I got a great deal on this ipod and when i got it u couldnt tell it was used. i was very satisfied.
Another Great Product from Apple!
What really needs to be said? iPods are by far the best portable music players and this 5th Generation iPod Nano is no different. The functionality is great and the Nike+ feature is awesome for runs! The pedometer works really well too. Surprisingly, the video camera actually takes some very good videos. Nothing super fancy, but pretty darn good considering that this is primarily a music player. I got this mainly for working out/running and it is awesome; very lightweight and small in design. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting some form of small portable music player.
Okay Device
Works as advertised, but the "click" wheel navigation is sketchy, and, quite frankly, outdated. Display is clear, but still too small for those of use who are far-sighted. iTunes is a clunky piece of software in need of a serious revamp. Also, I am disappointed in how difficult it is to import music to the iPod - no drag and drop directly into the iPod in this day and age? You have got to be kidding me. You are forced to use iTunes, which, as stated above, is kind of crappy.
I love it!!!
So easy to use, load songs, etc. Sounds great. Compatible with disc player, car stereo. It goes everywhere with me. Get it!

Piece of junk
I bought this for my husband because his generation 2 shuffle was toast and the used ones cost more than this new one. I think he used it twice before it stopped holding a charge for more than 20 minutes. Since his workouts are longer than 20 minutes, it is pretty useless. It must be the sweat issue. I wish I had known this. What a waste of money.
Neat Combination!
Hi All, this is a combined review of the following items, used in conjunction:

A.) Apple 3rd Generation iPod shuffle 4 GB;
B.) Scosche TapSTICK Polycarbonate Case with Integrated Controls; &
C.) Skullcandy S4CHBZ-BC Chops Earbuds.

I'm mot sure, but I think you can verify that I ordered all 3 of these at the same time. The thing you have to take my word for is that I use them all together. Well, I do -- so there.

What I was after was a small mp3 player to use while running. I'm legally-blind, so that brings problems into the picture about controlling anything that's too complex or has a touch screen, so I was a bit worried about using the Shuffle. I have an iPod Nano 16Gb that I keep audiobooks on, and it works great for me, but that is a Nano, and this is a Shuffle. Less depth of item, less depth of software, therefore less depth of control I thought.

Then, I read the reviews about the latest gen-Shuffle's issue with the controls being near the ear/head on the earbud line, and shorting out when the person begins to sweat. WTF? Who uses a Shuffle except when they are working out = sweating? I didn't understand that. It scared me off for a bit, I admit. I run during the heat of the day here in Houston when the sun's directly overhead so I can locate the curb. Generally, it's about 100F degrees. Sweating could be an issue...

Anyway, that scared me off of the new Shuffle until I read the reviews that tied the iPod Shuffle to the Tapstic controller. There are some good reviews (go read them) of th iPod when used with the Tapstick controller, and I'm here to tell you, they have it right. The combination works like a dream.

I tied my purchase to the Skullcandy quasi-earbuds, so I've got a IPod Shuffle 4Gb, 3rd Gen, controlled and located within a Tapstick controller, feeding the audio through Skullcandy earbuds, which really aren't, truly, earbuds IMO, they are sort of half-way between true "in-ear" earbud speakers, and "cover" ear-phones. I do like 'em though.

The Skullcandy "earbuds'" sound is good, but a bit, and I mean only a bit, "thin" compared to a true "in-ear" ear-bud. The bass is light, and there a slight high-end register, but it's thoroughly enjoyable while running. Don't get me wrong, I give the sound quality an 8 of 10. Maybe I have weird-shaped ears, I don't know. They are the only ears I know how to use.

The iPod itself is just that, an IPod. Load it thru iTunes, with all it's coolness and drawbacks. Play your music randomnly simply by turning the player on, simple. Trying to actually skip around through the songs? Not so simple. Try to do it without missing stride? Forget about it. Leave it alone, suffer through the song you shouldn't have put in the mix, that's the easiest solution.

The player is tiny, you won't even know it is there. If you get the 4Gb player, you get about 800 songs or so (average of 5K per song), and that's a lot of music -- it is over 40 hours! The audio quality of the Skullcandy earbud-things is quite good. They have tiny over-the-ear "hooks" and the speakers fit sort of into the ears like earbuds, so I suppose they "could" fit in that category.

All in all, I give this combination, as a combination, 4.5 out of 5.
IPOD Shuffle
I agree! I thought maybe I just got a bad one. I lost the receipt, so I purchased a second Shuffle. Junk!!! Apple, you should be ashamed. I have a lot of Apple products and they work flawlessly. You knew these Shuffles weren't working right, but you still continue to market them as a great product.... Frustrated and disappointed customer
Good device, requires proprietary hardware
I'm mostly happy with the 3rd generation shuffle. I'm replacing two 2nd gen shuffles and am happy with some of the updates:

Functionality to easily switch between playlists.
Book playlist allows me to rewind past the beginning of the current track to get back to the end of a previous chapter.
Allows for multiple song playlists which can be accessed separately or under 'All Songs'.

The battery life is slightly lower (10 hours as opposed to 12 hours) but it's not a deal breaker.

The main issue which bothers me about this device is the control scheme. I don't mind that the device must be controlled from the headphones. In fact, while using the shuffle at the gym this has more than once helped me avoid skipping tracks when my hip brushed against workout equipment.

What bothers me is the lack of hardware adapters for the controls. If Apple wants to keep things proprietary, fine. I'd happily buy an upgraded set of headphones from them which are more comfortable than the stock, or a tape adapter equipped with the control functions (I spend a lot of time in my car and like to listen to the iPod through my car speakers using an audio tape adapter). Because of the lack of accessories, however, I was forced to buy a third party adapter made by Belkin. It doesn't get much wear and tear in my car but it's obviously not as durable as the first party hardware and must be installed so close to the shuffle itself it voids the benefits I've seen with having the controls so easily located right near my ear.

I'd happily update my review to 5 stars if Apple were to provide more accessory support.
Pretty good deal
I boought this for my 7 year old son and he has enjoyed it. It was a little complicated to figure out in the beginning but once he figured it out, he enjoyed it. Recommended.

Glad I found it...
I had a 4th Gen 8G nano that broke and I was looking high and low to replace it. All I found was the new 5th gen nano that had video which I didn't want. Great little music player, it holds about 500 photos and can still hold more. I'm so happy to find a replacement that has more memory than my 8g. Thanks Amazon!
Works good, but a flaw in the design
My wife has this ipod and she's used it daily for the last year and a half. Everything is still running fine on it however there are 2 items I want to mention.

1. The "lock" switch on top.
The previous generation of ipods was all metal, encased and built tough. This generation and from what I can tell the most recent ones as well have this rounded shape to them and the top lock button is held into place by a little white (or black on the newer model) sticker like cover. The cover popped off the other day and the lock button got lost so now we've lost the "lock" function of this ipod. I think it was a poor design. Apple really should have used a better material then a sticker to hold the button in place.

2. The plugs on the bottom
When my wife has this ipod plugged into her car car radio she really can't charge it as the two ports (headphoen and charging) ports are to close to eachother. If she forces it she can make it work, but a tiny more space would have solved that issue.

Overall it's a good ipod. Yeah it lasted a year and a half, but it could have lasted much longer had apple used a metal top with a screw or some other design rather then a sticker that relies on adhesive to hold it on. We looked at the new generation last night and they also have the same exact design flaw so we aren't sure what exactly we are going to do, it won't be buying the same design style ipod. Perhaps we'll go with the classic or touch.
I LOVE this iPod Nano 4th Generation
I never thought I needed an iPod (who actually NEEDS one?), but I saw this one-year-old iPod was on sale for $139, and my daughter convinced me I should buy it. I LOVE IT. I am a senior citizen and I walk over 2 miles every morning. I was borrowing books on CD from my library and using a fanny pack to carry a portable CD player to listen to the books while I walked. My daughter explained that I could download the books onto the iPod and then I would only have to carry the tiny iPod in my pocket instead of the fanny pack. She was right! With 16 gb, I can download a TON of books and music (using iTunes), with plenty of room to spare. Now I borrow the books on CD, download them, and return the CD books to the library quickly so someone else can use them. AND my cute little iPod is pink!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
Super cool
I love it I really dont need the camera or any thing so this is just right very clean very very very new . came just in time I didnt find my self slaming the thing on the ground and doing the chimp dance Thank God Just supa EZ to use
Bad battery
I received the iPod sooner than expected, just two or three days after having ordered it, which was surprising, but after I had loaded all of my music from iTunes I disconnected the iPod and it shut off. I continued to charge it for two days, but it just wouldn't hold a charge. I ended up taking it to apple and having the entire unit replaced. It was in otherwise good condition.

new technology (MP3) with old radio (dial)
Do not buy this item if you a reason you like it is that it comes with a radio. The radio is not digital, but oldschool dial (doesn't make sense to me to mix new technology MP3 speaker with old technology dial radio and didn't even know they still made radios with dials). I returned this item because of this. Then, after returning item found out that the one my sister bought after only 6 months stopped working and will not dock, charge or play her ipod. I suggest looking for a different model if looking for speaker and/or radio.
Happy daughter
This item was purchased for my daughter, who is very very happy with the item. She is always walking around with her earbuds in her ears, well since receiving this item she doesn't complain of her ears hurting from having the earbuds in her ears so much and she likes the fact that it charges the ipod while she is listening to it.

I want to thank you for such a good product and if I need another one I will definitely look you up for another.
a great product for a small room
i bought this for my 4year old daughter. We'd been using a cd player for music since she was born and it finally went kaput. So, I decided to use my ipod in her room instead of buying another cd player and look for an ipod system. I was surprised to find anything at this price point, even more surprised that it looked cute (and in pink, her self-declared favorite color, of course), and I was just delighted when I pulled it out of the box and it felt solid & sturdy. I was worried from other reviews it would feel cheap & flimsy. I plugged it in & set it up at her constant urging, and we listened to music on it no problems. It even sounded better than her cd player and just as good as our iLive player that was $65. It is not feature rich and does not come with a remote. The carrying handle is sturdy and it's a nice compact size. It also has a dial that allows you to support your ipod dependent on its thickness. It plays the radio, but we'll never use that. You can turn it off so that your ipod is not left charging. You can play/skip music using the controllers on the boom box instead of just usin the ipod dial. And the volume knob is on the side. And, in the end, the ipod is actually more sturdy/reliable than cd's ever were. They were always getting knocked loose or scratched, etc. They can control the ipod dial w/o having to hold it in their destructive, little hands and I'm not nervous about it getting ruined. I should clarify, though, that removing it from the music station and carrying it around the house is strictly forbidden because it is "mommy's ipod." If my son's cd player breaks tomorrow, I will buy this same product for his room.
Broke after 2 months??
I had a family member buy this ipod boombox for my youngest daughter for Christmas. She has the 60G ipod. After only using it in her room, and playing it during the night while she slept, it just stopped working. By 'stopped working' I mean the docking portion no longer charges, and it the ipod has to placed on the prong just right or it cuts off. The slightest movement in the room it's in will cause it to turn off. The radio works, but I didn't buy it just for a working radio. I'm highly disappointed with how this and mysteriously other ipod docking radios (my iHome lasted 6 months, my oldest daughter's GPX iLive only works with nano and nothing else) have prongs that are flimsy, and quit working after minimal use.

I'm not sure why the 'portable Music System' iLive costs less than the 'GPX-branded' iLive either. The +$20 difference is substantial considering the results are the same from my experience.

A space-saving, pretty-colored, radio...but not the space-saving, pretty-colored, reliable, ipod docking radio that she wanted.
iLive portable docking
We were disappointed in the quality of the docking station. Also the shipping charge was more than the item.

Real Goodie
Fits my 3G iPod Touch perfectly and protects it from rattling around and makes it easier to hang on to. In other words it doesn't slip out of your grip easily. Don't leave home without it.

Great Case
This case works great. I am no longer afraid that if I drop my iPod that it is going to break. It fits very well, and you have non restricted access to all of your buttons. It is definitely worth the money.
Outstanding Ipod touch 2G protection
I have been using this speck rubberized case on my iPod touch 2G for over a year. It is outstanding. It has protected against damage from a couple of fumbles. The fit is excellent and clicking the buttons is never a problem. It has held up extremely well (it's almost as good as new), the material improves hand held grip and helps it grip surfaces, so it is unlikely to slide off of things. I coupled this with an elago anti-smudge screen protector and the pair of items has kept my iPod in near-perfect shape after all this time. Another speck product I already owned actually lead me to purchase this one, I am very pleased with their products.
If you are looking for rubber armor to provide outstanding protection for your iPod touch, look no further.
This is the first case you should buy for your iPod Touch, you won't have any regrets.
Stop agonizing over what case to buy for your new $175-$350 iPod Touch. This is the best all-around case you will find anywhere. It will fit a 2nd generation iTouch as well as all of the new 3rd generation(8Gb, 16Gb, 64 Gb) iTouches since they are all EXACTLY the same size. It feels really nice in your hand and the pixel or square pattern on the sides and back let you get a good grip on it. It's rubberized which means its durable, holds its shape, and is still flexible enough to very easily take on and off (again and again) if you want to recharge it in a speaker dock.
*The case wraps around all 4 edges providing good protection.
*The inside of the case is very soft and will not scratch your iPod.
*The bottom of the case has an open slit to allow you to recharge your iPod Touch on your computer using the USB cable that came with you iPod. The headphone jack is also open for easy use. Nothing about the design of the bottom of the case gets in the way of doing this very easily.
*The top of the case overlaps very little of the screen which means the light sensor is not blocked in any way.
*The Home button is covered but there is a slight recess in the cover and a little square to mark where it is.
*The bottom portion of the case and the sides that wrap around the front do not overlap any of the viewable screen and do not in any way interfere with using the keyboard or playing games that I have experienced. Perhaps if your fingers are very big you might have a problem if you need to press something in the extreme lower right and left corners; but this would be a problem with any case that overlaps the lower portion of the case in any way.
*If the iPod is turned face down on a desk, table, or even dropped flat, the screen will not make physical contact with the surface and risk scratches or worse because the case keeps it slightly raised and protected.
*One of the features I really like about these cases is the little nubs which extend very slightly over the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Rocker. They actually make it easier to adjust the volume than without the case. The volume rocker on the iPod Touch itself has kind of sharp edges and this softens them. The best thing about this feature is that the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Rocker are completely covered and dirt and grime can't work their way into them.
*It comes in a nice variety of colors. Just be aware that the darker colors like the black and the blue can show dust or lint more. I have the blue and really love it, but I'd like a light color like maybe the yellow so that I can more easily see it in a bag/pack filled with lots of other stuff.
*The case is pretty slim, not as minimal as a slider case but slider cases don't offer any real protection for the iPod if it is dropped and many do not have any liners so the back of the iPod can get scratches. Slider cases do look very sleek and only the bottom has to be removed to recharge it in a dock; however, many people have problems removing the bottoms of slider cases, and some don't stay together very good.

In summary, you will not regret purchasing this case for the $11-$13 that they cost. You will feel your expensive iPod is safe when you put it in your purse/backpack/pocket. This case is not going to rip, tear or crack. The only drawbacks I can see, and I feel they are minor compared to the advantages are:
--the case has to be removed to be put in many charging docks. I have one that it fits in with the case but I looked very hard to find it. Removing the case is so easy though, it takes like 2 seconds.
--because the case is rubber and not a smooth plastic, it may not slide as easily into a pants pocket, but at least it won't slip out easily either.
--You do need to buy a screen protector, this case doesn't come with one. But they can be purchased very cheaply($1-$5) right here on Amazon. You don't need the most expensive screen protector out there. Glass doesn't scratch that easily so you just need to have some minimal barrier against some scuffing or in case you accidentally put your keys in the same pocket.
As you can tell I really like this product and know you will too.
Speck PixelSkin Rubberized Case for iPod touch 2G,(Blue)
Good protection for your ipod
You spent some money on your ipod, now go get something to protect it. I like the feel of the no-slip textured outer cover, the toughness of the rugged rubber design as well as the lo price of this great little case. A good value all around!

A.) Apple 3rd Generation iPod shuffle 4 GB;

Doesn't isolate buttons
This cover doesn't isolate the main button at the bottom so any pressure on the case activates the button.
Very satisfying...
It was all I wanted it to be. Im very satisfied with it and I use it 24/7. I recommend it.
Belkin iPod Case Review (Good Product++)
A Friend of mine had a case like this one, I loved how it looked and i loved the accessibility to the iPod (headphones, USB&charging port, and the lock/unlock/power button on the top of the iPod. It also features a flip open case to easily open to the screen of the iPod. The only bad thing i have found about the product so far is the fact that when pushed into a pocket i tends to bend the front of the case in a little ways, and also if there are any crumbs that find their way into the case, it tends to create circular scratches on the shiny back portion of my iPod. I know this goes for almost every case though as nothing i have found truly keeps all wear and tear off my iPod. I really Like this product and would recommend it. Amazon.com had an amazing price for it as well. (BRAND NAME PRODUCT- LOW PRICE- HAPPY CUSTOMER)
Great product, great price
I went to the Apple store to find a case to protect my new iTouch...and nothing there compared to this case. This was not available at the Apple store, but another customer at the store suggested I check out this Belkin case online. It serves the purpose, looks great, and protects my iTouch in my purse. I am very happy with this purchase.
Love this little case
I really like the protection this gives my Ipod touch and it looks cute. I'm happy I got it and it was a good price. I wound up buying about 3 different cases for my Ipod Nano when I got that, so I was happy that I got this right the first time.

On Par for The Price
It is Good with sound but the plastic feels cheap the bedshaker is good but the speakers are just average
Amaazzing!!
this product is absolutely worth the money. if i were to describe it in a few words itd go like this "all great things come in small packages" this alarm clock doesn't take much space at all which is great! and the bed shaker is definantly a bonus! i love that there are so many features in this clock and it came in such a great price! absolutely love it.
Great item at great value
thank you, great item. works with all ipods. could be a little louder, but good for its size. the bed shaker WILL wake you up!!
Easy to use, and gets the job done!
I ordered this product only for the alarm. I wanted an alarm that could play my ipod touch, charge it, and not have a way too bright display. the display has a setting 0 to 9, with 9 being super bright. I really like this alarm clock because it's easy to use and the sound quality is good. I'm not sure what to make of the bed shaker yet. I don't know if I like it or not, because it annoys me a bit but that's it's job so it wakes me up. the only thing i was disappointed with, was it was smaller than I imagined. Not super small but smaller than I expected. I think this is good for teenagers like me who have trouble waking up because the bedshaker combined with the music or buzzing gets the job done!
LUV my iLuv!
I love my iLuv!

First, the shipping was perfect, my package was at the post office in 5 days.
Second, it is compact, and fits most iPods.
And third, after I learned how to use it, it is very simple to operate.

I have some details to get into. On some reviews, the bed-shaker is said to be annoying. But when I used it, it felt like nothing more than a vibrating cell phone. There are very few controls; making it simple, in my opinion, to operate after I got the hang of it. It is a great buy for $40, and works like a charm! I highly recommend this product to anyone who is in the market for a great iPod charger/radio/dock.
