What really needs to be said? iPods are by far the best portable music players and this 5th Generation iPod Nano is no different. The functionality is great and the Nike+ feature is awesome for runs! The pedometer works really well too. Surprisingly, the video camera actually takes some very good videos. Nothing super fancy, but pretty darn good considering that this is primarily a music player. I got this mainly for working out/running and it is awesome; very lightweight and small in design. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting some form of small portable music player.

Okay Device
Works as advertised, but the "click" wheel navigation is sketchy, and, quite frankly, outdated. Display is clear, but still too small for those of use who are far-sighted. iTunes is a clunky piece of software in need of a serious revamp. Also, I am disappointed in how difficult it is to import music to the iPod - no drag and drop directly into the iPod in this day and age? You have got to be kidding me. You are forced to use iTunes, which, as stated above, is kind of crappy.

Love it!
Not much to say about it other than I love it! This is an amazing microphone. The sensitivity is incredible.

The only complaint I have is lack of a wind screen for it. I found one but it was $60... A trip to the local fabric shop turned up the correct material and we sewed one up.

I bought this for my iPhone 3GS about 9 months ago; worked excellent with Blue Fire so I bought the full version of Fire Recorder. Just got an iPhone 4 - it does NOT work with iPhone 4!!!! :-(

Even the new Mikey doesn't show support for iPhone 4 officially on its spec page. VERY DISSAPPOINTED BLUE!!!!

Works with my iPod touch 3G
I was worried about the connection with all the other negative reviews on compatibility with iTouch, but it seems to attach and work okay on mine. Had to take the protective cover off my iPod first, though, which is not convenient. I wanted a microphone w/external speaker to monitor some of the programs my kids use, so this works for what I bought it for. Microphone is decent. External speaker is not as nice or loud as the built-in internal speakers on the unit, but at least it's there. Overall, works well for us.

Blue Mikey does not play well with iTouch 3g

The Blue Mikey uses a speaker/mic set up, which means the mic is a speaker and the speaker is a mic, one in the same, I question the "ability of all in one" type setups. you can achieve the same meathoud using regular headphones hooked up to your laptop/computer mic input, you won't be able to use both "sides" of the headphone for a "stereo" mic but it does work, just for fun of course...

The slender design of the iTouch 3g makes hook up of the Blue Mikey unreliable as the mic tends to loose connection with the iTouch. Additionally the iTouch 3g's headphone out is located next to the docking port making it impossible to monitor with headphones what is being recorded. I did hook the Blue Mikey up to the iPod 5g and found a good connection but again the headphone jack on the iPod 5g is next to the docking. Performing actual test recordings baring the headphone monitoring, I found not that great of stereo separation with the mic, not bad but not great. The iTouch 3g and iPod 5g do not have very good audio amps in them so don't expect great sound when playing back through the Blue Mikey speaker/mic.

Does not work with iPhone 3Gs
I'm giving Mikey 3 stars because I'm sure it works fine for someone, it just didn't work for me. Using an iPhone 3Gs, I don't think the microphone or the speaker were ever engaged. The speaker did not work at all, and the microphone sounded just like the built-in iPhone mic, which leads me to think that it wasn't working. The physical connection to the iPhone was not positive at all, seems like it could wiggle loose over time.

My understanding is that there is an updated version coming that better supports the iPhone.

Nice protective case
This case installs easy and does a nice job of protecting my iPod touch. The silicon rubber provides a nice non slip surface. The only drawback is that the thickness of the bottom edge prevents the unit from operating in a dock unless the case is removed.

Off to college
I bought the Ihome desk lamp for my son to take to college and he seems to like it.

It's just okay
There's nothing really wrong with this item, it just doesn't really hold much and looks a little cheap. A really nice feature would be if the iPod was actually charging while it was plugged in here. That would make this so much more functional.

Not true color advertised!
I purchased these items in Red and Blue. The Red is closer to coral which didn't work because purchased for my son's Red Ipod Nano. The Blue is more of a pastel blue instead of Royal but we could live with it. The unit only plays the Ipod but won't charge it so something to keep in mind. I was very disappointed in the seller's return policy. I attempted to return the Red one and was told that they have a 2 week return policy which I had missed by a day. Usually return policy is at least 30 days.

Gives the basics.
I was hoping for truly "missing" information beyond what you can get off of Apple's website. It does put the most important items in one place, but nothing extra.

Pretty comprehensive!
I enjoyed it, but then of course I don't own an iPod and don't download music, I was simply curious what all the excitement is about. Clearly the product(s) evolve very rapidly, and so MAYBE this book is already out of date, but honestly I don't know.

Too much bla bla!
Not of particular use to a new user of ipods. The author attempted to do two books in one by using a dule discription for each procedure (Mac and PC). In addition, too much history of why such and such was included. I felt this time consuming and unnecessary. The index was sadly lacking and many important topics were not to be found.

This is THE book to have!!
I had my POD just sitting there. This book is what should have been done. In twenty minutes of reading, I was loading,dropping,syncing....Well written,easy to understand. Now to keep all the other IPODers who want to borrow it! Buy it!
