Instant cloud computing -- no fees and aa EZ as they say it is
I usually don't pay attention to the "daily deals" I get via email every day, but this one made me take notice. For $50 and free shipping, I could have a cloud computing soution for my four external hard drives? No additional fees? And they say it takes longer to get it out of the box than it does to hook it up? I was intrigued for about 60 seconds until I pulled an impulse-buy on this bad boy.

Okay, I'm not thrilled with the pink-only design, and it could have had a much brighter "on" indicator light, but when I hooked up the hard drives and walked back to my laptop, and registered . . . Something amazing happened.

For over a year, I'd been looking for a cloud computing solution. My laptop is jammed with files and I have a ton of other files on the external drives. This was an out-of-nowhere solution that was 1) instant, 2) simple, 3) ingenious, 4) comprehensive and 5) ubiquitous way to now access all of my files from the last 10 years over the Internet, wherever I am, from any machine, as long as there's wifi. Great concept, astounding value, simple and elegant. Best $50 I've spent in a long long time.

Does what you expect.
I installed this item on my network. It did exactly as it was supposed to do, with the exception that the Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDBABM0010BBK-NESN (Midnight Black) I hooked up is now locked if you take it off the pogoplug (works fine when it's via pogoplug, so I'm not sure if that's the pogoplug or the My Passport drive.) I like being able to store my media files in one place for availability anywhere. Now trying to see if I can use it as an iTunes server.

Do Not Buy This !
It corrupts the drive it is connected to. Lousey support. I wanted to allow others to connect to a common schedule and the connection software was intermitent at best. Thankfully I bought it through Amazon and will be returning it. It's a great concept and much better than Google docs.... but I have to go back to sharing the schedule there.

Great product
This is a great product. It allows you to access your media files through a web interface OR by mapping it as a drive regardless of whether you are on your home network or accessing it from any place where you have an internet connection. Furthermore, it's the only such device that I've tried that actually works! Set up took a couple of minutes. A small guide included in the packing contains an easy to understand three or four step set up process. Access as a hard drive requires the installation of a software from the pogoplug web site, also very easy to install. This is as easy as possible.

Pogoplug adds huge storage to iPad
Setup was incredibly easy. The app for the iPad needs some work. Music files should play more like they do in the iPod app.

This is a great product and overcomes the lack of storage on a mobile device. You get the cloud without the monthly fees.

used for boson test engine
I used CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Exam 640-802 to 60% prepare for the exam. I used this book for the boson test engine because for some reason the author's ability to get information to stick in my brain was tough. I used CCNA 640-802 Network Simulator to prepare for hands-on which was about 30% of my time. If you can use this to pass instead of Todd's book, that's great, but the more books the better in my mind.

Great Cisco Book to BEGIN learning from
Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices, Part 1 (ICND1).

So I thought this book was a well laid out book for what I was trying to get out of it. I am trying to get my first Cisco Certification and wanted something from CiscoPress - as I feel that they have the best book to study from.

I liked how the book was organized and how it progress through the information. I thought the clarity on subjects was excellent.

I wanted the book to have current information for me to study from and I surely does. This is a book on Cisco routing and it reads as such.

I will continue to purchase CiscoPress books as I progress through my certifications - In my opinion they are just better books to learn from.

Good Content, Poor Editing
All in all a good book on networking. The book could be organized better, 6 chapters over 463 pages makes for a little rough reading, they could have broken it into more, less broad chapters.

The end of chapter quizzes are AWFUL. I scored about 70% on the first chapter, but some of their explanations we're glaringly wrong. I went to the Cisco press website and downloaded the errata for this book, and there are 8 MISTAKES IN THE FIRST CHAPTER'S QUIZ ALONE! There are only 50 questions, COME ON! 5 more mistakes in the second chapter quiz...you get the picture.

Excellent Networking Book
I purchased this book towards preparation for the CCNA exam, and for my own learning purposes, to help me in
configuring my own network set-ups and installations.
I liked it so much, its clarity and detail, that I enrolled at SUNY Farmingdale, Cisco Networking Academy and
Computer Science Dept. to learn even more, and prepare myself for a new trade or occupation as a computer net-
working technician; with website programming, design and maintainence as a minor. I already am a hardware and
electronic technician, and this would round out my skill set and enable me to achieve my goals.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the nuts and bolts of computer networking, exam or not. It
will be money well-spent by you if you can apply the concepts in the real world, at home and/or elsewhere.

A CISCO CCENT Book
It is a great book, good organized but its not sufficient to complete the CCENT. To pass CCENT successfully, you most read it with books like
1. CCNA ICND1 640-822 CCENT Study Guide and Examination Guide Q&A, by thaar al_taiey.
2. CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide, 2nd Edition, by Wendell Odom.
3. CCENT: Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician Study Guide: ICND1 (Exam 640-822) (Exam 640-822 With CD), by Todd Lammle.

Works great
I've use previous version of the software for XP but needed to upgrade for Windows Vista. Note this will not work on Windows 7

Big dissapointment for various reasons
First of all it is simply a re-branded SafeNet SoftRemote client I have used with Watchguard and other hardware vendors for over 10 years. The client comes with no presets or Netgear specific advantages. It is just as tedious to setup as any other client including free ones like TheGreenBow and Shrew. It does not work with Vista 64bit. I see no reason why this client which has been around for MANY years should be an added cost, or why there is not a Netgear specific client that could work with Netgear hardware. In any event, not a happy camper. To be fair I will say that if and when you get it connected it is a solid client- and also that I have never had it crash on me.

Functional but difficult to set up
The VPN client is very functional and dependable once I was able to get it set up. The problem was I had used my Netgear VPN router with another VPN client before purchasing the Netgear Prosafe Client. I had the previous client set up and working, but I could not get the Netgear client to set up using the same settings. There are no step-by-step instructions for setting up a new tunnel on the router or client. I finally contacted Netgear support after many calls. They, too, had difficulty and could not establish a connection using the settings that had worked fine on another brand client. In the end, the support person built a new tunnel on my router and sent me an exported setup I then loaded on my client. All worked well from there but after 1 ½ hours on the phone.

Bottom line is that setup is difficult, but the end result is a functional and dependable VPN client. Don't be afraid to contact Netgear support if you have problems setting up.

No support, doesn't work with Vista
I think the title about says it all. I couldn't get the software to work with my Netgear router so I called support. Since my router was out of warranty, they wouldn't provide me support even though I just purchased the software from Amazon the week before. They indicated that had I purchased it from them, they would support it. (I'll check tomorrow, but I think I have a newer router elsewhere that I can use to get support).

However...even if I can get it to work, I didn't see that it doesn't work with Vista. Luckily, I have an XP computer I can fail to get it to work on. (I can't fail on the Vista computer since it won't even install).

Needless to say, I'm somewhat disappointed. The only document that describes how to get it to work with the router I have is inaccurate (and overly complicated) and in the end...failed to set up the software in some way that would make it connect to the router.

Easy to use
I had no problems at all. Worked jus the way we needed it to.

Good Antec fan but there are better options.
It should be noted that the currently shipping of these fans is the clear type (not black as pictured above in listing). The same fan is available from here with a three speed control which this one lacks. Antec recommends in the manual, a "low" setting for the add-on fan for the 902 case...this fan will only run on high. I wound up buying the TriCool Blue after receiving this one. Next time I'll read a little closer on the item descriptions.

Awesome For Laptops.
I made a project. I used this fan and cut the wires to attach to a usb and then made my own laptop cooler with it. Awesome Product, super quiet. Can't even tell if its on it's that quiet.

color is off crom most antec fans
it has decent cfm i would say about 75 to 90-cfm at about 25 to 28db but if you own a antec 900 or antec 1200 it is more like a light blue and dont match colors of the antec cases other then that it has decent air flow

Good fan
It's not too loud and the lighting looks pretty nice if you like that sort of thing. Only one speed - be sure to pick up Antec's variable speed models instead if you are going for the quietest fan possible.

Holes too big
I have a sonata 2 case. My fan went out and i replaced it with the same brand fan. I had to drill my case for the screws to fit. good fan, disappointed that it didn't fit by default

Great MIFI for 3G to WiFi
I tried 2 other MIFI stations, which allows a 3G mobile data connection to be shared over a local WiFi link. I needed this function for this summer, where I had my laptop and my wife's laptop both sharing a monthly 3G data subscription. After problems with the other two MIFI stations (of Chinese companies), this Option MIFI station worked completely flawless and has all functionalities built in with a very nice web browser interface. Very solid technology, well worth the pricey cost. The others, I wasted days of my vacation time trying to get it to work.

Awesome 3G router ... go get it
I got European version and simple it is a rock solid with external antenna in case your signal sucks.

Pros:
- Simple to setup provided you have some basic knowledge about 3G/routers
- Signal meter in dB that proves to be a lifesaver when hooking up external antenna and trying to get signal in unknown land during your vacation
- stable connection, no glitches so far
- g WiFi is really good and has good penetration through concrete slabs especially if it is placed on upper floors
- excellent 3G through output given that you have at least 1 bar and provider provides juice (European 3G providers are 10 years ahead of AT&T in US). I get constant 3 Mbits download and 350 kbits upload in Europe even at 1-2bars.
- LED screen is actually useful with two buttons beneath it to connect/disconnect and power up/down router. Nice touch is SMS showing on screen. Connect/Disconnect button comes really handy
- excellent WEB administration interface albeight for average Joe it is probably too much and confusing
- my VoIP (Vonage) works great on European HSPA 3G network

Cons:
- weakest part is external antenna port that is same as on other Globethrother PC cards (MCplug) and it sucks big time. Be careful not to break/bend plug on it or pigtail connector. An MCX connector would be perfect for this device like one found on Ericsson W35
- pity that is not an n Wifi router
- unbelievable but power supply is actually 5V/3A which is awkward for mobility and trips where you need to use automotive battery
- traffic counter gets reset every time you power down/up router which makes it useless to monitor your traffic usage.

Bottom line it is great 3G router. I would give it 4.5 but there is no option for it. It would be a perfect one if it had addressed shortcomings mentioned under 'Cons'. If you plan to use external antenna go get a good quality cable like LMR400 or at lowest LMR240, anything below this will suck up any gains that comes from antenna. From my experience N-connectors with LMR400 cable proved to be the best and sturdiest option. I can highly recommend this router and priced at 1/3rd of Ericsson W35 it is a steal! It even beats W35 in some areas.

The best internal print server EVER !!!OMG!!!
Of all the HP Jetdirect 635N Internal Print Servers I have ever ordered, this one is the best. It came nestled in the box like a baby condor under it's mother's wing. The instructions were clear and the device slid into the bay like pudding through a straw. The blinking lights reminded me of Christmas's past; family, friends, and drunk uncle chet. Never trust Uncle Chet when he wants to show you something. Prints sent through this print server come out like 3 day old tacos chased with Mexico City tap water. HP should win the Nobel Prize for making a device that makes an otherwise useful device even more usefuller.

GigE and IPv6!
You know things have moved on in the world when your printer does GigE and IPv6! (mine is using both) Card worked out of the box, though I don't run DHCP for IPv6 so had to hand-tweak that. Only downside of this card is it's a bit pricey - you can buy networked laser printers for less these days.

2 Port Compact Serial Auto Switch

The AS-251S is an a Serial Auto Switch that will operate in two computers to one printer mode, called 2 to 1 mode. These switches operate in 2 to 1 mode without software drivers and deliver print jobs to the printer on a first come, first served basis. Plug & Play
Reviews of computing devices are useless if not specific. This Ethernet adapter is plug & play in the IBM\Lenovo T-60 laptop, running PuppyLinux (5.0 "Lucid"), PuppyLinux 431, Linux Mint 9 & gOS 3.X. By "plug & play", I mean these Linux Distros will auto identify & run the adapter on boot up.

Comcast cable modem services treats the adapter as if you removed your Ethernet plug and plugged it into another computer, meaning whether you use Windows XP or Vista you must reboot your modem with your computer off. Once all the modem LED lights are back on (takes a few minutes. Just push the reset in the little hole (or if your modem is older tech and does not include a phone jack (and thus doesn't have a backup battery), you unplug and re-plug in your modem AC power to reboot it) walk off for 10 minutes before you turn the computer on. Then boot your linux and let the auto connect utility connect you. In Puppy and distros like it that use "setup" the first time, you will need to run setup again. You will find an additional ethernet choice, select the one which indicates a "realtek" device. The Trendnet adapter uses a realtek chipset.

I rarely use Windows. I'll update this "review" when I try to use the adapter in Windows Vista Ultimate SP1. The few quality buyer reviews at Newegg say different things. One claims its best to get the Vista driver from the Realtek site. If the adapter doesn't work in XP or Vista, it isn't Trendnet's fault. It's still another goofy Windows short coming. As for Win 7, a lot of devices will not run like they should. Unlike most Linux O/S project teams, Microsoft's focus is profit & control, not ease of use or quality product design.

The Trendnet box and manual say the adapter is "designed for Windows XP" and "Certified for Windows Vista"(meaning Microsoft engineers examined and certified the adapter & driver as Vista compliant & compatible! The manual gives instructions for installing the adapter in Windows 98SE & ME. Like many other devices, the adapter is simply plug & play in XP. XP IDs it and installs the correct driver --usually.

Worked Great for 2 Years
I've had this gigabit Ethernet card for two years. It worked great until the card suddenly acted strange and then died. For the price, though, I would say that I've been satisfied with it. I was using it with WinXP.

Doesn't work with Vista, however plug and play in Linux (Fedora 9).
I could never get the Vista driver to install properly. The one on the CD didn't work, the one on their website didn't either. The Realtek driver that installed itself automatically made my machine unstable. I called tech support and the lady hardly paid attention to my problem, and instead read from an annoying script as is what appears now standard for outsourced tech support.

On the other side, even though Trendnet doesn't support Linux, it was plug and play and worked as expected in Fedora 9. So the open source Linux guys *without pay* made a better driver than Trendnet "engineers"? Unbelievable, I don't think I'd ever buy another Trendnet product.

So if you're planning on using it in Vista, steer clear. However for other OSes it may work. Since I bought it to use in a Vista box, this one goes back to the store.

TRENDNET GIGABIT PC CARD ----- It Worked When Others Failed
All I have to say is I tryed others - they failed.
Others said it was a Microsoft SP issue!

This card installed and worked!!!!

And is still working!

Long range, easy to install!
I've used this with two completely different generations of notebooks: a 7-year-old IBM ThinkPad X21 still running on a Pentium III processor (!!!) and a much more recent Lenovo ThinkPad X200 with a Core 2 Duo. No problem in either case.

Driver installation is a breeze and it works like a charm under both XP and Vista (tried both x32 and x64, no problem). Haven't tried included software, but I never use third-party programs to connect to a network; Windows manages that sufficiently well for day-to-day use.
