this labtop is great,I wasn't sure about it at first for the price.but man was I wrong.this thing is fast and the battery life is great for having all the setting set to max.your gonna love the wireless N card,great signal strength and speed.I downloaded portal off steam, the file was 3.9gb, it downloaded it wireless in 26 mis.that's crazy.the touch pad feels great and so do the keys.boots up fast and turns off fast to. it's got this great program called TOSHIBA health.it tells you the temperature of the cpu's and all that.its only 5 pounds and it's perfect for me in college to take everywhere with me

Great choice for a first laptop!
I received this item quickly after spending quite sometime on which laptop I should buy for my first laptop. I love how it's easy to use and fits easily into any backpack I own. I wanted something that was light weight and had at least 4 GB of RAM so I could use any program that I needed to for schooling and for free time online gaming. A friend of mine recommended me to buy this laptop because Toshiba has great customer service and their products are of top-quality and easy to use. I highly recommend this laptop for any first time laptop owners.

Next to Perfect
I ordered this laptop because I needed something small enough to carry around with me on a daily basis, but powerful enough to run new software, and multiple items at once. At the same time, I didn't have a deep wallet. This is my first Toshiba, and I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Before purchasing, I read some reviews that said the fan was loud. I don't notice anything at all. My fan is very quite, and no I haven't had any problems with it getting warm. Even though 90% of my typing is done from my lap.

The only negative thing I have to say is about the power. It says it runs 3.5 hours, and someone in a review said theirs lasted 4.5 hours. Mine prompted me to plug it in or shut it down at roughly 2.5 hours. I was watching videos and running several webpages the entire time though.

All in all, this computer does everything I need it to do, and many things I don't need it to do, with ease. Don't miss this opportunity.

"I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was my idea."
This laptop arrived today and I've been on it for hours...and I absolutely love it! The laptop is very quick and thin and beyond my expectations. The battery life is decent, but it can last much longer if you put it on "power saver" mode. I was able to install many things on this laptop and yet, it still runs smoothly. This laptop is basically a steal at $379. At first, I was doubting myself on whether I should buy an Acer laptop since it's not a major brand name. However, this laptop works out perfectly and I would recommend it for everyone.

I received the laptop today! Shipping was fast and packaging was good!

This is my first laptop but I'm no stranger to computers.
This laptop is great! It is very high quality and very affordable. In this tough economy Acer has made a knockout bargain.
This laptop comes with a versatile platform with the amd v series cpu, ati 4250 graphics card, led lcd monitor, 3 gb of memory, and etc. The only complaint is that the cpu is kinda slow(and the keyboard does not light up). That could easily be fixed by upgrading the cpu and adding more memory. This computer is great for surfing the web and homework. But if you are a gamer that like to play intensive games then I would recommend another more powerful computer or uprade the internal components of this computer.

Overall a great computer for a great bargain!

- Improved webcam quality would be nice; webcam usage in a dimly-lit room shows lots of dark background. Not an issue in a well-lit room. The workaround fix is to turn up the dimmer!

I like it so much that I told lots of friends: so far, we have bought 5 laptops over 2 weeks.

Great Computer Great Price.
Overall a great laptop for a great price. Its perfect for checking emails/facebook/twitter etc. its a very light computer and the keyboard feels great. Ive read a few people complaining about the mouse pad. but i have yet to experience and problems with it. i was a little scared to be switching to windows 7 because i work with vista everyday, but no complaints about windows 7 thus far. i would highly recommend this computer if you want to surf the web and download music.

Amazing Deal!
This is an amazing buy. I got this laptop for $379 about a week ago. When I purchased it I really was not expecting much but needed a replacement for an older laptop on the brink of croaking. So far it's fabulous, more than I ever expected. The screen size and picture quality are great, keyboard and touch pad are well laid out, and no software issues yet. Windows 7 is working flawlessly, even after I removed a lot of the pre-installed programs. It also has an interesting design on the top cover and the plastic around the keyboard on the inside looks like brushed pewter.

Previous reviews noted the lack of CAP lock and number lock indicator lights. They are missing but when you push the buttons there are indicators that pop up on the screen to tell you whether they are currently on or off. Another review mentioned that the computer was too heavy. It weights in at less than six pounds and is not bulky at all.

Overall this is a great buy and I highly recommend this PC.

Great Case
I bought this case for my white 13" Macbook a couple of weeks ago. I also bought a hardshell case from Apple to give my laptop as much protection as possible. The computer, and the hardshell case that I put on it, fit perfectly in this sleeve. This case is classy and provides the perfect amount of space to keep my macbook safe. I am very happy I bought it!! some of the other reviews have said that it doesn't have enough padding. I guess it is up to your personal preference. If you are going to buy a hardshell case (they are super pricy) then this is the way to go, if not, and this is your macbook's only protection then you might want to go with a case with more padding and protection.

Not the best protection
Not the best protection for the laptop alone, but I'm happy with it because my laptop already has a hard case. Fits 13" macbook perfectly. Cute design.

I wish it came with a handle or something, but other than that the material is nice and sturdy. You definitely have protection, affordability, and great aesthetic quality with this carrier. I love it!!

Is it too girlie looking for a bloke?
When I purchased this on-line my reason was that it looked hip and had that (what I thought) was some sort of tribal design. I had looked at the ones in the Macstore where they had all these covers in bright colors and blooming monkey faces on them -sorry, I am not a metrosexual! However, upon receiving it, you realize the design is a lot more "flowery" that it looks on screen -yes, my next purchase are going to be better spectacles. This really is not a quibble just a warning to other lads who are not cruising Tommy Bahama and all that other metro-ballocks.

My only true worry about it is that it I wonder about the padding. I discovered the hard way with my PC of 5 years that putting it in a suitcase enroute to Boston airport is not a good idea -cracked screen! The covers in the Apple Store (the ones with the Monkey faces) all seemed to have more padding. I took this on a flight recently to Los Angeles and my wee MacBook was just fine.... I just wish the flowery design didn't give me as many odd looks:0

I bought this case to protect my computer from scratches when I put it in my backpack. But it's so beautiful, I don't want to keep it covered up! My MacBook Pro fits perfectly into the stretchy neoprene sleeve and a zipper closes the whole thing. Very classy looking.

Gets the job done...on a desk
I'm using this cooler with a 14" Dell Laptop. Upon arrival, the cooler felt extremely flimsy to the touch, but has thus far held up very nicely. It does a good job at cooling, it is quiet, and turns off when your computer turns off (if you have it plugged to your computer and not a separately powered usb hub). My only beef with the cooler is that the fans are not covered. Even though the cooler permanently stays on my desk (there's no way you could use this on an uneven surface, like your lap or a blanket), occasionally pens or papers shimmy under the cooler and can interfere with the fans.

All in all, for the price, I can't complain too much.

Not too shabby considering the price
You kind of laugh when you get the package cause it's written with some Chingrish and it looks pretty weaksauce. However, it does pretty much what it says it will do: 3 fans blow some air, elevates the laptop and gives it a slant (0.5 inches in front / 1 inch in back), blue LED lights. For under $8 I find the elevation & tilt of the laptop useful already, so that almost makes it worth it. The fans work, they blow air, and havent been catching on surfaces yet (only had it for a short time) - except I did stick my fingers into them accidentally a few times because they are pretty exposed, but theres not enough torque to hurt you so its pretty safe too. As for the lights, ehhh not a pro or a con. In the end it probably cools it just slightly - been monitoring my core tempteratures with and without fan and I think it gives me about 2 C cooler on average at low processor load, but spikes are about the same at high loads. So it might help prevent overheating in the long run but just isn't powerful enough with good enough airflow design to really make a huge difference. A fourth fan would make a bigger difference I think.

All in all, worth it.

The plastic is very flexible and this device MUST be used on a hard surface.

Fun Fan
This fan is great. I love how it lights up when it's on. It is very quiet and since it runs on the power of the lap top it makes things easier. Also the USB port is great since in order to use it, it takes up a port.

broke after 2 weeks
I was disappointed by this charger. It didn't fit the socket, it heated up too much. It broke and ceased to work after 2 weeks of use. Very disappointing, waste of money.

Cheap charger only works for about a month!
I've had 2 of these chargers, and they both give out after just a few weeks. Dell makes their chargers so expensive, if you're low on cash, you really have no choice but to buy these. They get shortages in them in no time, even when they cord isn't bent. They're also kind of dangerous; the second one I had started to smoke and burn when I plugged in after about a month. Be careful with these!

Do not buy it any more.
I brought it for my Dell 1545 on July 3, 2010, and just one month later, Aug 8, 2010, it was out of work.

Not good at all
This product caused serious issues with my laptop. It caused the screen to go bright and then go dark while using. It also would tell me plugged in and not charging. I would not recommend this charger as a replacemnt for anyone and Amazon should really consider taking it off the site as prodsuct.

Don't buy generic.... buy the name brand!
Bought this generic cord and it doesn't stay in and you have to wiggle the 2 pieces that connect to get them to work and that is only when it wants to connect. After messing around for 20 minutes trying to get it to work we gave/give up using it. Lesson learned, buy the name brand and not the cheap imitation that doesn't fit.

Perfect for my Dell 1525
This is a brand new OEM Dell AC adapter / charger. This charger has a cord much longer than the original one that came with my laptop (1525). Have been using it every day for a month now with no issues at all. For the people that say it does not work on their Dell 1525's, maybe it's the battery or another problem?

Works as advertised
My wife needed an additional adapter that she could leave at work so I purchased this item even though I am very wary of buying refurbished products. Turns out it works great. Two of these equals the cost of one new adapter directly from Dell.

Power cord and charger
I recently got a Dell Studio 15 from the Costco website and was looking for an additional power cord to keep at a different location so I wouldn't have to carry the supplied cord back and forth. Looked at several sites, including Dell and Amazon and after searching found this cord on Amazon which looks to be OEM. Had it about a month and so far seems to work ok, but only occasional use. The only reason I gave it a 4 star vs 5 star so far is that at the plastic connection where the cord plugs into the transformer, it doesn't fit a smoothly as the original cord connection. The male end seems a little too big but since its plastic I seem to be able to have gotten it to fit tightly enough for a good enough electrical connection. Otherwise seems to work as expected and was definitely cheaper than the Dell website with shipping on top of that.

does not charge the laptop
The Dell Studio laptop recognized the charger a few times but it took a little jiggling of the thing and a couple tries. Since then a pop-up consistently tells me that 'The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will run slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or higher for best system operation.' Of course, it could be a problem not with the adapter but with the laptop itself. Regardless, the two dont work properly together. It seems like the piece that connects the charger to the laptop is a little bit too small.

Dell OEM for anteasonable price
My original power supply stopped working and would not charge my battery, this one said OEM and was half the price so I decided to give it a try and it works perfectly. Now I just need to get a new OEM battery and my E1505 will be running great again.

Ridiculous Placement of Reset Tool
It's obvious that the IT Security and Risk Management folks in Kensington don't use their own product.
If they did, they'd realize that the Reset Tool (the funny U-shaped 2-pronged thingy) is right on the loop, where ANYONE can use it to undo your combination lock!

Not the best choice for College Students
I recently bought this laptop lock to use in my dorm room. The lock is made well but the coiled cord is not very long. If you try to use it while sitting on a bad or desk its okay, but not easy to move around. Most people move their laptop from place to place so I suggest getting a cord that isn't coiled and thus has a longer reach. However, its all preference.

However, If you want to move the lock from place to place(i.e Starbucks) it is small and compact. I would say the lock is designed well and secure. If you're looking for a budget friendly purchase, it might be good for you. Otherwise I suggest getting a lock with a straight cable.

read these set up instructions
This lock works, but the directions are completely useless. A previous reviewer posted an excellent set of step by step instructions. I am reposting them here for your convenience:

As previous reviews have noted, the instructions on this thing look like they were written by a 2 year old. Here is how to set this lock:

1. Set the lock to all 0's
2. Insert the metal key into the bottom of the lock, with the 2 yellow dots.
3. Twist the metal key until the 2 yellow dots line up, creating a yellow line.
4. Scramble to your new code
5. CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MOVE THE COMBO AT ALL DURING THIS STEP. It is very easy to accidentally move the combo a number or 2 during this step, and it will ruin your lock for good (if you do not remember the missed-entered combo. Now, twist the metal key back to its original position, breaking the yellow line back into 2 yellow dots. You are now done.

To LOCK the product into a device:

1. Tie the lock around something, anything, using the loop.
2. Set the lock to the correct code.
3. Insert the lock into the device, and then turn 90 degrees. If don't properly, the lock will not come out of the device, BUT YOU ARE NOT DONE.
4. While pushing the button on the end of the lock, scramble the lock to an incorrect code. This should lock the lock in place, and prevent it from spinning in the device. Double check with a few tugs that the device is secure.

To UNLOCK:
1. Re-enter correct code
2. Push button
3. Turn 90 degrees
4. Remove from device.

Feels solid, not difficult to use
Overall, I would say this lock is exactly what it claims to be. It offers a moderate level of security in a small package - it will keep someone from walking off with your laptop, and it's easy to carry with you. It feels solid and well-made, but it is a compact item that's lightweight and compact, and as such, it could be defeated with fairly basic tools. So if someone's really motivated, it wouldn't be TOO hard to break/cut/disable the lock, but it's FAR better than no lock at all.

Other reviews have addressed the (lack of) clarity in the instruction manual, and someone even posted very clear instructions for how to set your own combination. I wanted to see how bad the instructions really were, so I intentionally didn't look at the clear instructions in the other review, and just followed the instructions in the manual. I had no problems at all setting my own combination - you do need to pay careful attention to the diagrams (including position of the spring-loaded button, and the "tool" that's attached to the loop). But if you're careful and follow step by step, it's really not difficult.

My only minor gripe is that the coiled cord is a little difficult to work with. It is coiled fairly tightly, so it can actually pull on your laptop if it's stretched out, and it can get tangled on itself. However, the coiling does make the whole thing very compact when not in use, and there is a non-coiled version available (albeit currently at a $15 price premium), so the "complaint" against coiling is really not valid - it was my choice to buy the coiled one.

If you're looking for some basic and easy-to-carry laptop security, I highly recommend this lock. It's an especially good value with the current $10 rebate.

Nice Lock
Follow the instructions posted earlier and this lock works perfectly. DO be careful when setting the code, it is certainly possible to accidentally move a few numbers in the process without proper care. After that, locking and unlocking is a breeze.

It fits my unibody 13'' macbook pro without forcing it, which is nice because I've had some other locks that don't work in the kensington slot of this laptop.

Just didn't cut it
it's really flimsy, and kinda cool. the lights are kinda o.k., but it was noisy. I have a Dell 15.5 Studio and it just didn't keep it cooled down. Play it safe, spend a couple more bucks and make sure your getting enough cooling, cause that's what it's really all about.

It keeps my laptop from overheating, the blue lights are pretty nice but its a tad flimsy.

DOES THE JOB!!
After upgrading my PS3's hard drive with 500gb and 7200 rpm i was concern about overheating a bit. I wanted a cheap solution so this was the perfect choice. This product is cheaply made no question but it does the job, with that price you can't ask for more. It's perfect for the ps3 but for a laptop you have to know that this cooler has to be in a hard surface no alternative. Other than that it's very quiet and the blue lights it's a bonus. In conclusion for a PS3 this is a great cheap cooling solution.

got 3 fans and 3 blue led light, one of mine after 3 months or so now strobes but the fans still work so that is why i bought it so, if you dont care for the lights then its a great product

Doesn't work
I bought this item and am so disappointed with it. My laptop had a cooling system problem. It turns off when it gets hot, so I bought this product. The fans are too small to keep the laptop cool. You can't keep your laptop in your lap when you're using it. I was playing a game on my laptop with this thing on and the comp. shut down.
I wasted my money. And I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Arrived quickly, however not as padded as I imagined and a tight fit for my macbook that has a hard case on it.

Lovely and practical. Provides a snug, softly lined pocket for my laptop. It keeps my laptop scratch free! I'd recommend this sleeve.

Disappointed
This cover looked cute and I had a pretty hard time finding a 13" case (I guess it is an unusual size), but there is almost NO padding in this. I wouldn't recommend buying it because it provides almost no added protection.

First Mac
I've had this laptop about a month and I have to say that there is nothing about it that doesn't impress me. As many feel, I basically wonder why I waited so long to make the switch. The learning curve was virtually painless. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

I had a dell inspiron (windows xp) for the last four years or so. I had used the family pc before that. My laptop was good at first. After about a year though it got a virus which caused me to lose everything and then have to start the computer from scratch. This happened two more times within the next two years. It was completely annoying. The computer itself was bulky and would get really hot. I had to replace the battery a few times and the actual computer rarely lasted for more than an hour without being plugged into the wall. I had had enough so when considering a laptop for college I looked up macbooks. I went to the apple store learned a bit about it and decided to buy the 13inch macbook pro. I cold not be more happy. The computer is small and light. The design is sleek and the computer doesn't get really hot. I like how the applications are set up because it feels less cluttered. Also, they're easy to use and if I don't understand how to use something apple has plenty of tools to help me understand. I can charge the computer and then it will last for two days without me needing to charge it again. What's even better is that the battery isn't being used if you are not using the computer. The computer runs beautifully and overall I am really happy with the purchase. I am definitely never going back to a pc!

My First Mac Ever!! Love It!!!
I've been a PC guy forever but I needed to buy a Mac specifically for college and boy am I impressed!! I will remain a PC person because I love building computers from scratch and use them for gaming, web browsing and for other light programs but for my college required programs such as Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5, Etc. I will NOT use anything else but a Mac! I just runs everything alot smoother.

APPLE ROCKS BUT UPS MADE IT ROTTEN!!!!
I received a call on 8/27 at 806 am that I was to stay home and wait till 7 pm for my new Macbook to be delivered....at 645 pm the Amazon order screen read that it was NOT coming as UPS screwed up and sent it to Ontario at 454 PM today instead of arriving at the Palm Springs facility. I am now expected (in this economy) to stay home ANOTHER entire day to be able to sign for my beloved Macbook Pro this Monday. The UPS $35 an hour teamsters have now cost me $500 to stay home and have to reschedule two days business! THANK YOU UPS for taking nearly HALF the cost of my computer for YOUR screw up. Not to mention the countless items I have had to return to Amazon because UPS breaks them!!! UPS is NOT cost effective to anyone. Amazon was kind enough to give me a small token of sorrow a $10 gift card. My advice ~ see if you can get it shipped another way so you are not one of the UNLUCKY ones unlike a few here with NO issue on delivery. Can you tell I am a little PEEVED about this!

In regards to the MacBook Pro ~ You will NEVER want another computer again (this is my second)! They are the cream of the crop for a reason ~ they WORK!

Apple Macbook does it again!
I have the previous model of the Macbook Pro 13" model and I wish I would have waited four months to get this upgraded model. Nonetheless the MBP is a great product.

Although it is one of the lower end models of the MBP family, it is really powerful. I was really impressed when I was able to manage software such as Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and/or After Effects well. I've had the laptop for eight months and I do not notice a decline in quality in the product.

I take my laptop everywhere with me. Sometimes I feel that I should treat it better, but the laptop itself is really sturdy. Although the price of the MBP is high compared to other laptops in the market, I feel that spending the extra cash is well worth it. Apple has great customer service, I have friends that have had their old Macbooks for years, and Snow Leopard and all its components, i.e. iLife, are great in compare to Win7.

The MBP is an investment. I believe in quality over quantity and this product represents that.
