Excellent/Superb
I was a little nervous getting a digital camera. It's a high-quality camera and a great product. The picture quality is excellent and the sound quality is average. It's my first camcorder of any type and I love the crystal clear 1080P. The only thing I hate about it is actually needing to shave because the picture quality is so good.

motion capture dies after 27x snapshots

If you are wanting a nannycam, that is motion sensitive, then don't buy this one.

The software dies after 27X captures, it only captures video while it 'detects moment'.

Nice but if someone walks in your room, sits down, you can not see the 'small' motion. E.g. moments of hands at a small distance.

In the past, I would tell other software to record for a minimum of 20 minutes to make sure I capture the scene correctly, this software does not.

What you end up with is 27X movies that last 10 seconds or so.

So I give it a lousy software award of 2 while the camera is a good 7.5.

Last, since this is a nanny cam for me, the darn blue 'record' lights (two lights, each 1 inch long) are pretty hard to hide.

I caught 10 seconds of 'bad stuff' on the cam, because the 'big motion' ended!

Wow
Webcams have come a long way. This webcam is fantastic and dare I say it better than the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema which I also own and love. Although I still like the shape of the microsoft camcorder better.

This is not your average cheapie webcam, it's high quality construction with two microphones, a nice lens and a flexible mount that you can use to mount this to a monitor or lay on the desk.

I has two half moons on each side that light up a blue color to show you when the webcam is turned on.

The software package that comes with the camera is wonderful too, easy to connect to skype or to upload video to YouTube.

Overall, if you review products or do minor commentary online this webcam will serve you well. It's sweetspot will be video conferencing.

Just bear in mind you do need a core2 duo 2.4 ghz processor to really take maximum use of the tool.

Overall, this has been the webcam that has had me come around to using cams at all. Before, the quality of video was too low and the construction was poor.

This webcam is different, very high quality construction and very high quality images, stereo microphones AND good software to boot.

A handy little camera

The picture quality is not quite as good as that of our Nikon video camera, and the photo editing software is not as good as the standalone program we bought -- but that's not a flaw in the camera or its software. That's comparing it with different kinds of products.

For video chat, it's perfect, and as you can see from this video review, it does a very good job of creating videos. Check out an example of an edited video here: [...] We did this entirely with the webcam, edited it and uploaded it to YouTube, and embedded it into our web page. We never had to look at the documentation or help, either -- it was incredibly easy. It took just about an hour, counting opening the boxes, installing the cameras, deciding on a topic for our experimental video, shooting it, editing it, and getting it onto the web page.

In later uses, we've found that some situations require an additional microphone, and we've gone back to iMovie for most of our editing, but we're using the camera regularly for video filming and for video chat.

I can say with confidence that it is possible to use this camera right out of the box with no additional hardware, software, or training, and to get good results.

Impressive!
I have used several Logitech webcams over there years, so I was excited to receive the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910. I have always owned webcams that sit on the desk (you know, those little orb ones from Logitech) so this is my first experience with one that sits atop my monitor.

It does not have any clips or attachments to hold it there; it just sort of perches up there using the back hinge to "tighten/loosen" the grip. The actual width of the perch part is 1 & 1/4" from the front lip to the hinge at back. My desktop monitor is perfect for this, but I can see where some people with thinner-edged monitors (like laptops) would have a problem getting it to perch in a sturdy manner. On my monitor, it's a very steady platform.

Unlike those older orb style webcams from Logitech, there is no privacy shade to pull down over the lens. However, it does tilt, so you can tilt it towards the ceiling while not in use to prevent someone from spying on you (I was shocked to read, recently, that this is a real issue!). Or just unplug it!

Another first for me in a webcam--dual mics for stereo recording. They seem to do well masking out unwanted background noise while giving you crisp sound, or so I am told by the person I chat with. One sound issue I encountered during set up, worth mentioning, is that I had my USB headset plugged in at the time I installed the webcam, so the camera mic defaulted to my headset mic during setup. It was a simple fix to go into the webcam control preferences and set it back to the webcam mic, but at first I didn't know why I had almost inaudible sound. My fault, not the webcams.

The picture quality is the really impressive thing about this Logitech webcam. It sports an auto-focusing Carl Zeiss lens, the same as my digital camera! It captures both foreground and background images in amazing clarity, with video up to 1080p (selectable: 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p) and still images up to 10MP (selectable: 640x480, 1.2MP, 5MP, 10MP). Of course, that's local. When transmitting on a video call, you can get up to 720p, which is still pretty impressive. The C910 comes with Logitech Video Effects software for making filters, avatars, masks and fun effects etc. I have only used the webcam with MS Messenger, and it works perfectly.

About the only negative thing I have to say about the C910 is that the USB cable is rather on the short side--just shy of 5 feet in length, which for most users will reach from the top of their monitor to a USB port or hub somewhere on their desk (I plug mine into a hub on my desk). If your PC tower (and only USB port) is on the floor beside your desk, it won't be long enough to reach. Even though this was not an issue for me, I am knocking off a star for a short cable.

In conclusion, I'll just say that for such a small little camera, you get a big quality picture. This is definitely one of the best quality webcams out there.

Works great
I bought this camera for my daughter-in-law, so I can see my granddaughter when she's born. I chose this model because I bought one eight months ago, and mine works just fine. I use it weekly on Skype for a group meeting, and no one ever complains that they can't hear me which happens for some of the others. I use it as a microphone, mostly, but the video has been fine when I used it.

Works ok for Skype only under Windows 2003x64
None of the features work under Windows Server 2003 x64. It works fine for Skype, which is what I got it for, but the focal length is way too long to sit on a monitor and get a head shot, so the image is very small. Voice is ok.

A thoroughly mediocre product. Works well enough for what I needed, but that's all.

Great price for the quality!
I bought this webcam to use with Skype and it's great! It's lightweight, flexible, can clip on to your laptop, and the picture quality is way better than I expected (it's not grainy, the lens lets in enough light even without the LED lights on). Great little webcam, highly recommend!

works sometimes
This product works fine when it is actually working. I updated my software and all of the recording software i found wouldnt work with this camera. It was cheap and the "night vision" is not night vision for thoes of you who haven't already heard. This camera wasn't what i was expecting, nor did it produce the results i desired.

Nice, cheap webcam
Did exactly what I expected it to do. The labeling that said the camera had a 'digital zoom' feature is a little misleading as there is no software I'm aware of that will make this camera zoom. No software or instructions came with the camera, but it worked the first time it was connected to my windows XP computer and worked well with skype.

Webcam doesn't last
I'm glad I dind't pay a lot for this Webcam. It stopped working after one week and could produce only red and green hues for an image. I don't expect a refund, but this product does not "perform as advertised".

Great Skype Camera
Got this camera for Skype calls with friends. Just plug in, adjust your sound settings so the default is the camera and you are ready to go. Works great. Video is excellent as is the sound pick up for audio.

Awesome HD Web Cam
Don't have time to write much but I use it on top of my 65" tv to talk with the fiance on skype and it's amazing. The autofocus and light detection are awesome. It works fantastic and looks great. Plus having the blue led on when video is working is great. Mount is very easy and built in microphone works great.

Oh, Fun!
I had been looking for a webcam for my laptop and am so happy to have received this Microsoft LifeCam Cinema. After using this device for a few months now, I have to say it works great. I mainly use this to connect with my family via Skype and haven't had any problems so far.

The webcam was easy to install and the software, while a bit lackluster, is fine for my uses. I really like the size of this model. It's not too clunky and it rests easily on my laptop with its adjustable gripper. Because of the gripper, if you need to move the camera around while skyping (to showcase a room, animals, etc)you can easily unclip it and then reclip again when your are stationary.

The camera consistently gives me clean, crisp, widescreen images. I honestly can't say I've had a problem with this camera yet!

If you need a easily portable camera for your laptop or computer, check this one out. It's worth it!

Great Webcam
This is by far the best webcam I have purchase. This thing work with all my computers including my Ubuntu Linux computer. Very good video quality for a webcam. I won't replace your HD camcorder but it does video web call very well. You will need a fast processor to run HD video on Linux and Windows.

Not Bad for The Price!
Microsoft LifeCam Cinema is not bad for the price for a 720p HD webcam. Not only it gives out a clear video/picture, with it's TrueColor technology, even on the darkest lit room, it automatically adjust the brightness and colors to make it seem like there is more lighting in the video. Although, the video can be a bit laggy if there isn't enough lighting in the room. So it's preferable of using this camera during daylight.
The microphone of the webcam is not bad yet not it's best. I was hoping for more of studio quality from the webcam but it's acceptable. Though, it does cancel the background noise but if you are using your webcam near an AC or a ceiling fan, the microphone will pick it up real easy and can block the sound. Also you can slightly hear the AC running so it's best if you use this camera in a quiet environment.
The Auto focus of the webcam is not bad! I tried to have the camera focus on my iTouch to one of my friends (only 4 in. away from the camera) and you can see how clear it can get! The only thing that really bugs me is how the webcam tends to Auto focus constantly. Luckily, you can manually adjust your webcam settings to avoid that (while TrueColor Technology is OFF) when it comes to using this webcam on applications such as Skype, AIM, MSN Messenger, etc.
The program that comes with the webcam is alright. Although I do love the effects it came with but the program itself can take a lot of memory(RAM) to process (I use Windows 7).
Overall, I am pretty happy with this camera for the price. It is what I expected it as it describe in the product info. I do RECOMMEND this product if you want to save money a high quality webcam, this product is for you.

this one is just OKAY. it plugs and plays easily. but image quality is not too great. i actually prefer my 8-year old logitech to this one in term of image clarity when doing online sessions. i would say this is a good buy if you are looking for your first webcam cheap.

Inexpensive webcam that works
I was hesitant to buy this webcam because it was so inexpensive that it couldn't possibly perform. At the same time I wasn't risking much. Glad I made the purchase. Camera works fine. It takes a little care to insure the audio is working correctly, and the microphone is the weakest element of the webcam, but it is entirely functional for most basic communication purposes. Very solid feeling. LED lighting has limited range but does work. Try it.

Software Installation Problems on XP Media Edition
I'm certain this is an excellent piece of hardware but I never had the opportunity to find out because the software would not install on my Windows XP Media Center computer. The error messages referred to missing dll's which were not on the installation disc. There is no live support and I could not find this issue on the FAQ's. So I am returning this to Amazon.

Excellent Camera
This is my first Web Cam. I bought one for myself and one for my parents that live out of town.The setup was relatively easy, I'm using it with Skype. I had some issues setting it up initially using the enclosed software disc, so I followed other user's advice and downloaded the software directly from Logitech and that made all the difference. I'm using all the auto settings for lighting and focus which appear to work quite well. I got a great price thru Amazon and would highly recommend this camera.

Webcam performs
This webcam was easy to install and set up. I like it's streamlined look and how "positionable" it is when it rests on top of my monitor. The only thing is - why can't the USB cable be a little longer? A person doesn't always have their CPU right next to the monitor!

This is the first time that I have purcased a Webcam to keep in touch with family. The product arrived quicker than anticipated...it had mentioned that it would take several months but arrived within less than two weeks. The customer service that Amazon provided was wonderful. They sent various emails to inform me on the status of the purchase. The webcam was easy to set-up and begin using (all u do is connect to a USB port and run the installation CD), the picture quality is exceptional the majority of the time! I have a DSL modem and the picture at time blurs and freezes, thus if you have a slower internet connection, I would believe, it would occur more often. I did however give 4 stars to low-light performance because my experience has been that you need to be an area with plenty of light - especially at night. Overall, this product is worth purchasing but I reccomend that you compare and shop. A relative bought the same webcam at a significantly lower price elsewhere.

absolute bargain for the price
I needed a camera/mic for skype. I set it up in about 3 minutes, self installing drivers and was calling people with video in about 10 minutes.

Webcam not working
I am very upset that this webcam has not stood up to what it is suppose to be. I followed instructions and still was not able to get it work.

Too easy
No software needed. Works with AIM and Yahoo that I'v e tried so far. Haven't tried taking pictures or video with it though.

Amazing deal for cost
The best (less than) $10 I've spent in a long time. I got this webcam so I could Skype with my brother - really so I could Skype with my 2 year-old niece. Why did I wait so long. My brother reported decent picture and excellent sound quality. All you have to do is turn on your computer and plug in the USB. No drivers, no downloads, no installs. I was up and running in under a minute.

Don't buy this product!!
I bought this product and now really wishes I hadn't!! The seller is very good, very prompt. I recieved my product within a couple days and it arrived as said it would! So far sounds great ... and then I plugged it in and it all went down hill from there. The picture was pretty good but the sound was horrible. No matter what usb I put it into there was this horrible screaching sound that didn't stop unless you put the volume really really low and then by doing that the mic didn't pick any sound up at all. There is no way to turn the mic off either. So if your looking for something where you want to record sound FORGET IT! I was so disappointed!! I ended up buying another webcam which I absolutely love, super easy, crystal clear pic and the sound is AWESOME!! Very affordable can't go worng with the Cubeternet USB 2.0 Webcam with Microphone + Bright LED Lights(UVC-Compliant) for PC. It is simply amazing!! The seller is awesome too! Great webcam
This camera is great. Price is fair. Picture quality is acceptable. And most important thing, works out of the box with my Mac mini. No drivers needed, no installation. Just plug and Mac OS X will recognize it.

iffy for windows7
Worked fine for around 8 months... however suddenly failed to work one day while I was running Windows 7. May have been due to some kind of an update but cannot find a solution to the problem and HP fails to take care of its website enough to try and troubleshoot any problems.

They actually make you pay for a CD - containing who knows what. That's supposed to be some kind of a driver or something... I've no idea what to do with this anymore.

Hoping that when I reinstall Windows 7 that it will work as advertised. Will keep you posted.

Good camera for the price!
I bought two of these to communicate with my family out of state. It is working very well and we can see each other pretty good. The picture is not entirely clear as it is with other video conference equipment, but it is great for home use.

Satisfied customer
I bought this HP webcam to replace a logitech 5000 webcam that was about 4 years old. The HP image quality is noticably better than the Logitech 5000 and for the price I feel like I got a super bargain. The price was about $22 with shipping for a "used" version, but everything appeared to be in new condition. I think the description was "like new", but the box had been opened so I guess it couldn't be sold as "new" as I seem to recall. I compared numerous new models of webcams from multiple name brands and they were nearly double the cost of this HP webcam. I thought I'd take my chances on a "used" product from a seller with a good reputation and it appears to have saved me around $18 for the same product had I purchased it new. Since these items can probably be replaced every couple of years as technology improves, I figured why pay full price? It's nice and sleek and small, smaller than the Logitech, and the mount is very functional for a desktop monitor. It comes with software but it's not necessary to load it. You can use software downloaded from Skype or Windows Messenger to setup audio and video and make adjustments for the videoconferencing capability. So far, after a couple of months, I'm very happy with the purchase. I use it with Windows Messenger (similar to Skype) to talk to and see my parents for free 900 miles away for as long as we want to talk or as long as we can stand to look at each other via our webcams.

Great service, bad product for Powerbook users
The company had great service. But the product is mislabeled by Amazon. It does NOT work with all the Mac computers. Only the later Macs with the dual processors and the webcam already built into it. But I do have to say the company that I dealt with bent over backwards to correct the mistake. The guys at In and Out Auctions deserve a lot more of my business. Because they handle customers well. Congrats Gabe!

Happy to find a webcam that works with windows 7. Nothing fancy about this camera, but then again, why would there be for the price. Easy and Simple. Just plugged it in and it worked. Never could get the shutter on the top to do anything, but I don't really need to take stills with the webcam.

this webcam worked the first time i used it and then when i went to use it again a few weeks later and it had white lines in it and now i can now use it. it wasn't that good form the beginning. i would not buy this again and i would not tell people to get it, sorry.

It works and is 5MP
The camera works, but is made of cheap plastic you'd find on kids toys. Came in a box so it was not damaged like others mentioned when it came in a bag. Appears to work well with yahoo. Looks like the price was recently cut in 1/2 from a month ago, even better for you if you get it now. :)

Good for the price
This little webcam is definitely good for the price.

My MacBook Pro's iSight is out, and I was worried about finding a cheap webcam (I don't need it for much) that would work with Mac. I decided to try this one out blindly, hoping, and I didn't even have to do anything for it to work - just plugged it right in!

Definitely recommended for such purposes, though the quality is a little lacking. I simply need it for some video chatting here and there; it works for those needs.
