Land Line
We love this phone. The reception is crystal clear and the battery life is the best of any cordless we have owned and the land line phone is a great addition to this set!

Great performance
This set is being used to replace two other products that had both broken very quickly. The phone was easy to set up and use. It has great sound quality and great range through walls. I can't knock anything so far, except a slightly difficult menu list for setup of the phone book number list.

Best of Class
If you are in the market for an excellent corded base unit and up to 6 cordless units, look no further, this is the system for you.
The package we ordered included the base unit and two cordless phones and we elected to add a third cordless at the same time. This gave us a total of four phones for under $120.
When the package arrived two days after ordering, everything was included to get the system up and running with a minimum of effort. The instructions are very easy to follow, just take them
one step at a time. Determine the most important function that the system offers, set that up, and go on to next function. It is not necessary to get every function set up with in the first 15 minutes.
We received our system on a Thursday morning and so I got the system up and running and activated some of the system functions such as the digital answering system. Early Friday evening, we were hit with a very sever thunderstorm which downed power lines in our area so we were without electricity for almost 40 hours. Because of the fact that a low level electrical current runs thru the phone line, we still could use the base phone to get information and to stay in touch with friends and family. The range of the cordless units is also very impressive.

We have had our system for a month now, and I was impressed with the quality and features on day one and continue to be even more impressed as I learn more about the system. Panasonic has really come up with a winner by offering this system as a very reasonable price.

All I Could Have Asked For.
This phone was exactly what I wanted, a corded handset with extension cordless models. It was relatively easy to "assemble" and set up. My only beef is that, like other posters, I find the included handset cord too short for practically any use. However, a replacement cord is cheap and this is definitely not a big deal. The sound quality is excellent, so far, and the reception is good (despite the cordless handsets consistently marking only one bar, even when next to the receiver.)

Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would purchase it again without hesitation.

Great phone - easy to set up.
Met and exceeded expectations. Easy to set up, and very easy to share "phonebook" numbers with each phone, only takes a few seconds.

Happy with my land line
I needed a phone that I could use on conference calls from home. This fits the bill very well. Being adverse to reading instructions, some of the fetures that it claims are a little tough to figure out, but overall I am very satisfied.

Great Phones
I have been using Panasonic phones for over 15 years. I decided to replace my aging phones and answering system with this new Dect 6.0 phone system after researching the product and reading reviews. I wanted a 3-phone system that had a great speaker phone, answering system, and used a frequency that wouldn't interfere with my computer wireless system. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I use the speaker phone a lot as I frequently work from home and have to make business calls. The sound is great and people on the line can hear me clearly. I really like the address book feature and that when I enter the address in one phone, the other two phones are automatically updated. The keypad on the phones works great, are the right size for my fingers, and that they light up for easier use. The satellite phones take up very little room wherever you set them and it is amazing how you do not have to plug in a phone jack/cord - they work wireless. No matter where I put them in the house, the reception is strong and clear. I cannot find any fault with the phones and the many features. Just make sure you read the manual so you know what you are doing and how to enable the phone features that you want. This is a great product by a great company.

So far, I'm happy
Have only been using this new phone system for about a month. So far, I'm very happy. Pretty easy to set up; looks great; sounds okay, too. Only thing I've noticed is that from my end, when I'm talking, sounds like line is dead. People on the other end say everything sounds fine, though. Have tried several times - as has my son - to get rid of the vocal caller id. It could drive one nuts! Most of the time it 'kills the english language' and we still have to look at the screen to see who's calling. Can't rate battery life, as it's much too soon to tell how battery will perform.

Not a heavy user
We are not heavy users of our land line - we still get the majority of calls on our cell - but this phone seems to have done well so far. We have not pushed the limits in terms of distance from receiver base, reception through structures, interference from other handsets or other issues that can plague phones. We have not utilized the additional features, such as the phonebook or answering message system (again we rarely need to use it) so I can't comment on that. It's a decent looking phone and serves our purposes.

Chock full of features but fails at core function
I bought this phone based on the positive reviews of others, features, and Panasonic's claim that it would work well with other wireless devices. It arrived quickly and was easy to set up. The number and nature of features such as "call blocking" were impressive. However, Panasonic's claim that it would work well with other wireless devices was, I'm afraid, in my case, untrue. I have a D-Link wireless router and a wireless mouse, and I believe that one or both of these devices caused interference in the phone handset (and, yes, I moved the base unit to a number of different locations and still experienced the problem). During even short conversation of five to 10 minutes, the handset consistently went silent on both ends several times, for about three seconds each time, and then normal conversation resumed. These were not "call waiting" disruptions. This is, of course, extremely annoying! I called Panasonic support. Interestingly, during my 10 minute conversation with the tech, the phone went dead at least three times! She suggested taking out the batteries, putting them back in, and placing the handset in the cradle. Unfortunately, this did nothing to solve the problem. Changing the channel on the router did nothing as well. Notwithstanding Panasonic's claim of compatibility with other wireless devices, this phone fails to fulfill its core function of snafu-free, two-way communication. In my opinion, the consumer would be better served if Panasonic changed its claim from the phone's compatibility with other wireless devices to it being a wonderful paper weight. It goes right back tomorrow. Hello, AT&T.

Just what I wanted
This phone with a base unit which includes answering machine and speaker phone, is of course available when there is a power failure. The cordless unit then provides the ease of mobility. We are very happy with this system.

Great product overall
Great phone system overall and please with the purchase however I found that some features need to be activated from the handset and some from the main phone. I found that to be relatively annoying because I don't normally need to look at an owner's manual to program a phone. Otherwise, the sound quality, design and overall function of the phone is great.

Don't buy this phone
I bought this phone for a new home. It worked a few times. As soon as I hooked up my DSL, it simply doesn't work anymore. It worked for approximately 3 weeks and 2 telephone calls and then stopped. I detest wasting money like that! I'd return it, but I didn't save the box being I'd always done well with Panasonic phones and electronics in the past.

Excellent phones from a great brand
After my last Panasonic cordless phone died (after ten years of faithful service), I knew I wanted another Panasonic. We needed an extra headset for my mother's work table, plus one for my bedroom. This is a terrific set all the way around. The caller ID has the ability to put on "talking" mode, as does the alert for voicemail. While we don't use this, it is a nice option so that you don't have to get up and see who's calling every time you hear the phone ring. The phones themselves feel wonderful in the hand, come with their own well-made belt clips and have good ring options (lots of tones, different volume levels, and each headset has a silent mode). The quality of hearing, as is true with every Panasonic I've ever owned, is clear as a bell. No one has trouble hearing us speak, either, and the buttons are placed so you won't hang up on anyone accidentally. These are sleek phones and the base fits in tight spots (especially the secondary one). My mother and I are very happy with our purchase- it was worth every cent. FYI- You can use it with your own voicemail purchased through the phone company instead of the one on the phone itself.

Works absolutely fine.....
I have used Panasonic phones before and I think they are very reliable and have long life. This one has been working absolutely fine. I have yet to find any problem in this phone. Yea, there are couple of things I wanted differently, like the way its Menu options are, but none of those are really deal breakers. There are number of features in this phone, which I liked when I was buying it, but trust me, we only like seeing those in our products when we buy them.....in practice we rarely use them.

I like the phone in general, it does what it is supposed to....its a good quality product. Would definitely recommend it.

The best home phone I've ever owned
This is a very feature rich phone system. I've owned three different Panasonic phones over the years, and this is by far the cream of the crop.

Very good buy.
We have had this phone set for a year and love the ease of use. It has had absolutely no problems and the set up is a piece of cake. Also love the "portability" of it.

Great but could use spped dial and more memory.
I bought this phone after our old phone's battery died and it used to interfear with our laptop router. I did a lot of research online and amazon had good reviews of this product. I like the speaker phone and it works great so far. We set it up pretty easilly. I plan to take a closer look at the directions after I've had it a little longer. The only negative so far I did not realize there is no speed dial and the memory for storing phone numbers is limited.

good phone so far!
it's a solid cordless phone.... Panasonic makes the best cordless phones I have found so far. They are reliable and simple. The new ones feel a little cheap in terms of how heavy and solid they feel in hand, but they are easy to use.... They contain the essential features,. the sound quality is very good.... and now I have to see how the battery-life holds out.

Wonderful Phone & Answering Machine. Buy it!
This phone replaces a +10-year Panasonic that was a marvelous instrument. This newer one has many more options, terrific sound quality, two headsets and is easy to program. We love it and would recommend it to anyone interested in a quality product.

Great Phone
Phone works as advertised and has great sound. The talking caller ID is a real handy feature. Would buy again and recommend it to anyone else. Can take a while to learn to use and need to keep instruction book close at hand.

Panasonic Cordless Review
This is the second one of these I have purchased - one has 3 handsets and a fancier base with speaker and one has 4 handsets. They are very reliable and easy to use. I like the fact that each person can program their handset as they wish. They could be a little sturdier. One of our base sets got killed off by a large power surge. All the rest of the equipment on that group was still good though, so just replacing that base wasn't too bad.

On the second purchase, we were upgrading because our old wireless phones interfered with our wireless internet connections. We have had no problem with the 6.0 phones in that regard.

Nice phone nice features: with a caveat for some
I really like the panasonics cordless phone quality, most other competitors do not get very consistantly good reviews so this is a good product.

I do wish Id of looked on amazon and found I couldve gotten this model with two handsets for like 16 bucks more though. To buy one seperate on amazon its like 37 bucks...sigh oh well my error.

My one gripe will affect those who dont want to hear noise (call screening while sleeping) turning off call screening is a two step odd process part of which must be done while the call is coming in or you have to call yourself to do it! Dumb why no button for it! (there is a volume button but doesnt stop call screening volume per book).

It stays off after process (volume of call screening) unless someone in house uses the actual charger base answering machine unit to check messages, then it resets. If youre not aware someone used the machine instead of picking up calls from handset you get sound. I live in a small space so this is a pain if you sleep days.

and a minor gripe: once you listen to a message, but do not want to delete, there is no reminder light that it is still there. No biggie but dumb.

I do like the unit but if it was made a bit differently Id be happier.

I did notice the volume on phone set at high isnt real loud (on some calls only) which is fine for me but if youre hearing impaired it could be an issue, my parents have a panny cordless very similiar to this one (new) and dad has to use speaker phone to hear (which runs battery down faster). (the volume on hand set is just too low compared to old analog cordless).

It does what it says and sounds fine no buzz. The phone handset volume is not simple to turn back on (no shortcut ringer on off button), you have to access the menu to turn ringer back on. If you forget ....you dont hear calls.
It does blink on its end and on display, when rings though.

I did not find a problem erasing messagings as one review mentioned I dont think its hard and is one touch.

Inspite of my gripes, It really is a nice system and you can purchase extra handsets later, and easily purchase new batteries which arent expensive at this time. "aa" nimh. Though you must charge them in phone unit charger or the phone wont recognize the full battery.

You can retrieve messages from handset and it blinks to notify you have messages, it even has some sort of synching for voice mail if you use that.

It also has multiple caller id functions (I dont use them) but its nice to have the options for some. Inc'd various assigned rings to incoming calls if you have caller id. And it will audibly announce the caller is you have caller i.d.

It has a nice phone book function, holds long numbers and spaces.

If It wears badly I will return to update :) Overall I do recc'd it :)

Awesome phones
These phones are clear sounding and have a quality feel to them. It has all the features one would ever want like lighted buttons, voice mail indicator, etc. The talking caller ID is great!

Terrible Sound Quality
I'm replacing these phones after a year of disappointment. I bought them because of the good reviews but these phones have been very hit and miss on voice qulity, both on our end on the other end. It doesn't matter if it's an incoming or outgoing call. All the features in the world are worthless if a phone doesn't do the most basic thing a phone is supposed to do. More than half the time we use the phone, the person on the other end can barely hear us. Sometimes there's a feedback echo coming through, sometimes not. This seems to be a common theme among cordless phones lately. When will phone manufacturers learn that if you can't hear or be heard, nothing else matters?

this is a great phone. i had an older Panasonic but it got old and the battery would die after a day of little use. this is a newer version and i love how cheap and how many there are. you have a phone for every room even for the bathroom. A+ for Panasonic!

Drops calls all the time. Panasonic's advice doesnt help.
Despite the fact that I'm loving the Talking Caller ID, which I think is not available elsewhere, I've been struggling terribly with these highly rated phones for a few months, with all the handsets dropping calls regularly, despite being fully charged.

I called Customer Service who told me how to reset the phones- remove batteries, unplug, and then put back batteries and plug in. It didnt help at all. Im hoping Im the only one with this problem. Its so annoying to have to look for another handset and call the person back mid-conversation!!! Im back to my old phone that works fine, which proves it's not a service provider problem.

The call cuts out often
Unfortunately the phone is very unreliable in spite the good sound quality when it does work. I am often on important calls and it cuts out and then says no connection to base. I actually thought that it was just the previous model/unit but it has happened with this one as well. Very disappointed.

My VTech telephone set
I received the unit in tack, very quickly and assembled everything together and plugged it in and was done in no time. It is working very well and we are very happy with the product.

Great product
We bouught this pohone to replace a panasonic (dont rememeber the model) that had really bad sound quality and the batery life was not good.
This phone system (2 headsets and built in answering machine) was a great upgrade with good sound quality, the design is much nicer and the batery life is very god.
The price was excelent compared to its features, easy to set up and esy to use.

Pretty good phone
As basic phone this a good choice, but I found it is missing a couple of features that I'm used to so I would be sure that you review the tech specs carefully before you buy. I haven't found any features that are stoppers but you might so just be sure to check. Fow example the ring control does have a good match with me Verizon voice mail so half the time messages go to voice mail and half the time they go to phone. Also, we haven't figured out how to make message play on the phone whille a person is leaving a message. You can play them back after, but you can't screen call unless you are near the base station.

VTech Phones
Just what I was looking for. Two handsets, n o phone plug-in required for second set. Speaker phone,caller id, answering system everything that I need.

It's plain and basic but it works.
The phone does what it is supposed to do and the battery life will be great for about a year. Our previous 6219 model now has to sit on the charger all the time. Talk time on the 2-year old model has diminished to about 30-45 minutes and standby time off the base is about 8 hours if you don't touch it. But when they are new, they last a long time. I am disappointed by the lack of a headphone jack and by the lack of a keypad lock. 22-month old children who love to talk to grandmothers on the phone have this nasty habit of pressing the buttons in the exact correct order to make return phone calls to business clients. The redial and talk buttons are a favorite of my youngest daughter, in that order, and that's why this phone base is now nailed to the wall five feet above the floor.

These vtech phones do work fine and you won't be disappointed in them until the batteries lose their mojo. Then you will find, as I did, that it is cheaper to buy a new system than to get replacement batteries for all the handsets. Now I have a primary phone with 3 handsets (one from the previous 6219 set and two from this 6229 set) and a secondary phone I keep by my desk (the old 6219 with the least usable battery). Perfect. And in another year or two we'll buy another primary set and get rid of the oldest. The one we got rid of to use this DECT was the 5.8GHz vtech that looks almost exactly like it but has an inch long antenna sticking out of the top. We owned 2.4GHZ vtech cordless phones before that. Every one seems to last between a year and two years. For the money, it's a good deal. I would rather not spend $140 for a set of phones that might not last much longer than these $40 vtechs.

DOA, took 4 days to get a Motorola response
Bought this phone for my mother.
Opened box, was told to charge all phones for 24 hours before using.
Plugged in phone, was unable to detect the phone line (like all the other phones did).
After 3 calls to Motorola and ignored emails to TechSupport we finally got a rep who said "these phones don't play nice" and suggested I return it.

can't go wrong with motorola
I've always liked motorola phones and this is no exception. The phones have good noise quality and set up is a breeze. The answering machine is also very easy to use. The phones are slim and easy to navigate. It was a good choice for us.

Happy with my new phone
I am very happy with this phone. I like the look and feel of this phone. I really like the fact that you can use it as an intercom, call another extention in another room. You can also listen to the messages on the handsets. I can not rate the phonebook feature, I don't use that feature.

My Multiple Motorolas
These are excellent phones. I am not surprised because I have used their products before and found them always to be tops.

We needed phones in more places around our home than our previous units would support thus this new Motorola. Now a phone is almost
within reach all the time and the ability to put different ring tones on them is a plus also.

I like the fact the handsets are small, enabling me to slip one in my pocket and go outside with it. Range is good outdoors also.

I am going to exchange the location with the base station and one of the others because the base is beside my bed and if it rings while I am
taking a nap it wakes me! By changing I will stop the ringing so close by.

The missing features will get you!
These phones keep all their data stored in the individual handsets. That means you have to enter your phonebook of 30 entries (yes, only 30) 4 times including ringtones, speed dials, etc... Also, the callerID information is kept separately on each handset so if you want to clear the memory or get rid of the "XX new calls" message, then you have to do it on every handset.

The phone only has 10 available ring tones. My cell phone from the 90's had more than that. Way too many button presses to get into and out of phonebook for changes. Come on Motorola, I would have expected much better.

I think I will spend the time I would need to spend entering the phonebook over and over doing something more productive, like boxing it up and ordering something else!

Poor quality, too complicated to use, sorry inst.booklet
I bought this set refurbished with 2 add'l handsets from another online retailer. The price was excellent. I wish the phone system was. To begin with, the inst. book gives instructions to register each handset thru a series of button pushing sequences. The problem is THE BUTTONS NAMED (in the instrucitons) DO NOT APPEAR ON THE HANDSET !!!! With my old Uniden set, all I had to do was put the handset in the base charging unit for 30 seconds and BOOM...The extension set was "registered" on the system. Not so with Panasonic. Also the intercolm feature is so complicated that family members do not want to even try to learn how to use it, IF I ever could even figure out how to register the 5 extension handsets. And do we really need an alarm feature that has the prerecorded message "time for dinner" or "time to pick the kids up from school"??? If my husband had not written sarcastic notes all over the inst. book highlighting the glaring instruction errors, this phone set would be returned. As it stands now, it will be donated to a local charity for a tax writeoff and I'm ordering a Uniden cordless phone set which is what I should have done in the first place ! Lesson learned: more features is not necessarily a good thing.

Panasonic's phone is still the best.
The first time I bought Panasonic cordless phone was about 10 years ago, during this 10 years I tried other brands of cordless phone and encounter many problems, some of them even started having problem after a month or two, but the first Panasonic one I bought still works.
So this time I decided to spend a little bit more money on this new set and I am very happy about the quality of it. I look forward to use another 10 years of this phone sets.

easy to use right out of the box
Trusted the general features, the selling price, and the Panasonic name initially, and we weren't disappointed. The phones are very easy to get up and running, the more advanced features (call blocking, setting up a phone book, etc.) are very intuitive, and the sound quality is fine. These phones do what we wanted and I give them a good recoomendation.

Best portable phone system.
I had previously had an earlier version of this phone system and it ran great for over five years. At that point, some of the handsets started dieing. This new set of phones has added all of the features that I wish the old set had. One really cool feature is that any changes you make to one phone get pushed to the other phones automatically. I also really like the ID announce feature. Battery life is terrific and the display and buttons are easily readable. I highly recommend these phones.

Almost Perfect!
Each handset has speaker phone, which was the most important feature I was looking for. The second most important feature to me is being able to access voice mail from each handset. The price is right which is always important! As other reviewers mentioned, the volume isn't quite high enough, which will be a problem for anyone with hearing loss. Though I haven't put the system to a big test, battery life seems more than adequate. Reception range from base unit is also more than adequate for our purposes. Admittedly, I haven't studied the instruction book, but so far the only message alert I've been able to see is a blinking light on the handsets with "new message" written in the little window. I hope to discover an audible beep I can turn on, but I'm away from the house with this phone system now, so I'll have to wait. I would buy this phone again.
