Works great!!
I purchased a different model prior to this one (M***ter) and I only got sound from the left side of the stereo. The iRiver worked right out of the package. Great sound quality and easy to use. I love the compact size and easy to read dial. Try this one if you've had trouble before.........you'll be happy. Some of the other reviewers said they had trouble with feedback, try turning down the volume on your MP3 player and you'll see a huge difference. Really happy with this purchase.

GLUE THE TIP!
This worked great in all respects. However, note that the tip where it goes in is screwed on. Somehow mine became detached and some of the inside pieces fell out and were lost. I tried a couple ways of jury-rigging a fix, but they always shorted-out when the car hit a bump. My suggestion - unscrew the tip maybe half a turn, put on some superglue and then screw it back on tight. There really is no reason you would ever need to take the thing apart. Just one bit of dumb design in what is otherwise an excellent product.

Does the job well.
The iriver FM transmitter works well with little static. There are a few small issues to be aware of.

1) It is radio quality sound and you can't expect much more from an FM transmitter. It will not sound as good as your CD player

2) The unit seems to use the cable and MP3 player as the antenna to transit the signal. When I put my MP3 in the cup holder I get static, but if I move the MP3 to he passengers seat it comes in clear. Where you place the unit will determine the quality of the signal.

3) Make sure to follow the instruction and have the sound level of your MP3 at 1/2 to 3/4. If you have the sound level to high the sound quality drops.

4) I don't know if it is a defect on my unit or an overall problem...... when I change the channel on the iriver unit it will not broadcast the MP3 over the new channel unit I remove the connection to the MP3 headphone jack and plug it back in. For me it's not an issue as I find using 88.1 seems to work all the time in my travels so I never have to change the channel.

Overall it does the job and I have very little static. I drive a lot in the Northern NJ area which has a lot of radio stations and have no issue using 88.1.

Sound quality is about what I expected...
I live in a suburban city, so I was expecting the device to work decently well. It does, but it is not perfect. As I drive further away from civilization, the quality increases to almost perfectly clear sound.

I have not had the opportunity to use this in a larger city, but I would expect the sound to be very washed out by the radio noise.

I ONLY recommend this product to suburban and rural users.

Great Item
This product is terrific! The only drawback is when you get to a major city when you have too many stations and it is difficult to find a clear number where there isn't a station.

Charger does NOT work!!!
What a sad predicament to be on vacation and finding out your new charger does NOT work so I have to sparingly use my iphone 4. I could not, and still can't find out how to contact the seller. Very disappointing. If the seller sees this and contacts me I'll gladly remove this review.

I ordered this 10 days ago. I received shipping confirmation, stating it was being shipped on the 21st. It appears Amazon blatantly lied. Well, today is the 27th and the shipping system shows that the shipper only sent the shipper the info that the package was coming, TODAY. A surprisingly decent iPhone car charger/FM transmitter
I recently purchased the iPhone 4 and needed a new car charger/FM transmitter device for my vehicle because my prior model from Belkin broke. Needing a new one in a hurry for a long trip I was taking, I quickly purchased this one because of how affordable it was when compared to the others available on Amazon and from other retailers.

I did have my concerns, as I'm sure you do in purchasing an item such as this. With such a low price when compared to other, more expensive models in the marketplace, this item may appear from its vague item description to be a device unworthy of your time. What I can say is that I found it to be a decent-working model with the iPhone 4. It charges the phone perfectly, and the FM transmitter, while not excellent, offers audio quality and reception on par with most other devices with the same feature.

Let me say that if audio quality is what you're looking for above all else, I recommend the iRiver device instead. However, if you're an iPhone or iPod user who's looking for a car charger with a passable FM transmitter for a low price, this is your best bet.

Worth it, but you get what you pay for.
Look, you're paying an outrageously cheap price for a device that's obviously going to be a little shoddy and tricky, but if you're looking for a functional FM transmitter for your car that you're willing to bear with when there's a little trouble, this is the device for you. If you're looking for stellar reception and flawless functionality, you're gonna have to pay for it.

I had a Griffin iTrip FM transmitter that I had to re-buy for my new iPod Touch 3rd Gen, but it broke for no reason after a couple weeks, so I just snagged this one. It hasn't broken yet, so that's a plus. Charging takes a little finagling, because sometimes if it's not hooked up just right it will tell you it's not compatible for charging, but it is. The transmitter itself slips out of the iPod causing abrupt loud white noise when you least expect it, but if you handle it gently you should be fine. Naturally, you can't take it too far away from your radio, but if the passenger or driver is operating, it's fine. Also, the screen doesn't always light up.

So far, I'd buy it again. It's a great price, and an acceptable product. Gets the job done if you're not anal about quality.

Good Product For The Price
I'm satisfied with this FM transmitter since it cost less than nine bucks. My previous FM transmitter was purchased from WalMart, cost about sixty bucks and only lasted about a year and a half before the wires started fraying out of the charger so I consider this a much better deal. I really wish the cord for the charger was longer because it's a little difficult and awkward for my front seat passenger to change the music on my Ipod Touch 2G while I'm driving. The charger can be disconnected from the transmitter for better mobility but, of course, the Ipod won't be charged. I live in south Texas (rgv region) and although it's definitely not a metropolitan area by any standards (mostly a clustering of small cities with a few mid-sized cities), there are a lot of Spanish radio stations so it makes it hard to find an unoccupied frequency. FM transmitters work by finding a radio frequency that sounds like pure static (since it is unoccupied by a radio station) and setting the transmitter to that frequency so that your Ipod music can play through the car's radio on your own unofficial "radio station". I constantly have to switch between three frequencies because the reception varies for every 15 to 20 miles I travel along the highway. It gets a little annoying to deal with but I had the same problem with my former more expensive, brand-name FM transmitter so I would still recommend getting this much cheaper, generic version. It was also shipped promptly and arrived in about a week (which I am very happy about).

worked for the first couple of week
After I used this product for a couple of weeks, it would not charge my phone anymore when I plugged it in. Now sometimes it works or doesn't for no reason. The sound quality if also pretty bad and as you increase the volume on the radio, the sound becomes more scratchy. You get what you pay for.

Ipod FM converter
The product is a great value for what you are getting. While the unit needs to be near the FM radio to work, you cannot complain for $10.

Just received this item
I was a little skeptical whether or not this work, but when I got it, I gave it a try and it worked like a charm. I have only used for a day, but so far so good!

3-1/2 Stars... Slightly above average performance
This product works fine. It does NOT totally lock into radio frequencies to give a crystal clear reception. Think of the ringing sound of an hearing aide with weak batteries ... or an AM or SW radio station from a distant location. The ringing sound is much, much less noticeable in a room, but definitely irritating in a car. Bottom-line: I like the product and will buy it again knowing what I know.

Works great in city and suburbs
I got this product after spending time with two different iPod car players that use the cradle instead of a plug like this one. I think the ability to set three different stations is a must for people like me who travel long distances. This player works great and has better sound than my last two. It only took me a few minutes to find three stations that work in my area. I highly recommend the Monster iCarPlay - great price and charges your iPod too!

Another Excellent Product by Monster
I've tried them all, Belkin etc and found Monster to be the best. They work great in all types of vehicle but the lighter attachment is large. I don't care what it looks like as long as the job gets done. It was a easy set up-match stations, plug it in and away you go!

It doesn't charge your iPone
It's only a radio transmitter and not a charger; waste of money, has iPhone compatibility issues, and sounds terrible.

Works fine! I got mine stolen and bought it again. Only thing I dislike is that I get another car's music into my radio so I have to give and space in between but I guess that happens with all the fm trasmnitters. The service from the vendor was good.

Great sound!
I love this product. I've been using it about a month and the sound quality is great. The smartscan doesn't work very well on my radio. The three stations it comes up with usually have a lot of static. However, I am able to find my own station that works great and haven't had a problem!

Works with the iPod Touch 3G 64GB
BACKGROUND:
I had been looking for a FM transmitter/charger that worked with my new iPod Touch 3G 64GB since my old adapter/charger did not function with the 3G. I also needed it not put any undue weight on my car's DC socket. My DC socket had been cracked already due to undue stress from the drink holder's location directly above the socket by the previous owner. So I couldn't purchase one of the holders that use a long bendable cable and the socket as a base.

PROS:
Charges and broadcasts simultaneously
Auto-scan for weak stations good for broadcasting a signal. (this worked fine for me unlike what other reviewers have said)
Auto pause when the ignition is switched off.
Great reception in my 98 Toyota Corolla
Relatively inexpensive
Plug and play with no obnoxious disclaimer from my iPod telling me I was not using an authorized device.

CONS
It broadcasts over FM and can't get better reception than FM provides, DON'T expect CD quality.
If you drive long distances you will probably have to switch stations due to interference at some point in the drive.
If you leave your radio on, when you start the car there is a brief 1.5 sec interval of jarring broadcast static while your device "remembers" what the last setting and station was. (Not a big deal but this did not occur with my old FM transmitter.)
Some cars have poor antenna placement or signal interference that will prevent ANY FM transmitters from working well.

Piece of crap
Waste of money. It quit on me after 2 months of use. Never worked very well to begin with. Lots of static. And not all that intuitive to use for such a simple device. I'm looking for something else. Would not recommend this product.

Bang for the Buck
I am always skeptical about purchases I make online, they never seem to go my way. This time, however, I believe I hit the jack pot. After doing some extended research on an FM Transmitter, I decided on this model. I have a 96 Blazer still with the stock radio so it has no fancy AUX connection. I have to say it is the completely worth the money. Very easy to use and not bulky like other models. The only negative thing I can think of at this point is the volume. If you're the type to bump your music as loud as you can until your ears bleed, this is probably not the model you'll want. The volume is decent, at least for me. Other than that, there is no drawback on this model

Does not work with OtterBox, but otherwise great
I was excited to receive this product - but when I did, I could not fit my phone into the holder. I have an infant and a toddler, and work in a restaurant kitchen so I need a heavy duty case, and I'm not going to remove it from the case for the 10 minute car ride to work. The side arms did not open wide enough, and the supports on the bottom are not long enough. Fortunately the plug fit through the narrow hole on the bottom. I rigged it so it will hold my phone while still in the case, and have yet to actually try it out, so I will be back to complete this review.

I'm back - I live where its hard to find a nice empty radio signal, but once i found one,(the wide range made it easy) everything worked well. Sound quality is as good as any other transmitter I've used.

A few notes
-The display does not react well to heat (and it's hard to find a station when the display is black),
-Some phones, like an iPhone in an Otterbox, weigh down the unit, causing to sometimes rotate in the cigarette lighter.
- I use the remote, instead of continuously handling my phone, to scan to next song, even though it is necessary to point it at the display.

Not a good buy...
I bought this expecting that it would work decently given the price. They forget to mention that you can't charge your phone and transmit FM at the same time. The signal was very, very weak and we could barely tune it in. I took it on vacation with me, but tossed the packaging before leaving, or else I would have returned it. It doesn't work well, and there's not reason it shouldn't be able to charge and transmit at the same time.... pretty disappointed even given the price...

I've had this item about 1 mo. and I can say so far that it works very well. I use it in my co. work van. I have an Ipod touch and it charges it and plays my tunes well enough for me. Money well spent!

Ipod FM Transmitter
Finally got a FM transmitter to use the Ipod in the car. It was simple to use and works great. Did have to change radio frequency a few times when I got to areas with lots of FM stations. The remote is pretty worthless. Couldn't get it to work at all. The way the Ipod sits in the dock it's easier to just reach down and make your changes directly from the Ipod itself. Other than that it's a great product.

Great alternative to new CD changer
I bought this for my 2002 Ford Escape, in which the 6-cd changer jammed 3-4 years ago and could not be repaired.
(Ford wanted $600 to replace it - glad I didn't do that!) This plugs into the car's aux power port or cigarette lighter. I use a flash drive with all my
music on it. I can also connect my Sansa Fuze. My only complaint is the shuffle function seems to repeat a sequence of the same songs more often
than it should with truly random selection of several hundred tunes. But hey, for the price it's a great deal!

Good sound, bad functionality
I purchased this player to listen to podcast of various one hour programs and books on tape during my daily half hour to one hour commute. Needless to say I need a player that will pick up playing where it was when I turned off my car. Other reviewers claimed that this player would automatically remember where it was in the audio file but I did not find this to be the case, nor does the bookmark function work as advertised. If you turn off your car without using the bookmark function, the player will revert to the start of the file that it was playing. The bookmark function (if you remember to use it) backs up some random amount but typically on the order of 30 minutes, far too long for a recap. To make matters worse, the rewind and fast forward functions jump around randomly in the file making them useless as well. After several frustrating days without hearing the last 10 minutes of a single podcast, i returned the player for a refund.

I only used the player with a 2GB SDFlash card. I may work better using a USB memory stick.

Good FM Transmitter - Moto Droid/iPod
I use it with my Motorola Droid mainly to play Pandora in the car. Sounds good when I am NOT charging the Droid, a little static/buzzing when charging. Overall, a good FM transmitter.

Soundfly SD mp3 transmitter is great
I drive 75 miles each way to work and listen to books on tape on my mp3 player on this. Works great except I don't really care for the way the player connects to the transmitter....the wire is too short and the player just hangs there or sits in my cupholder. The transmitter I had before this one had a cradle for my player. It is a great product and does the job I expected it to do.

Great Gadget
This is a great little unit. It works just as expected. The sound quality is good and both the analog input and the SD card works great. (I haven't tried the USB input). It also automatically turns on when I start my truck... sounds like a small thing but it's a great idea.

junk -- sounds terrible -- broke in 4 days -- very cheap -- JUNK
Sound is awful when using a media card. It's acceptable when using the external MP3 jack. It is so cheaply built and mine actually broke in half in less than one week. I also have an iRiver that cost 3x as much as this one but it has been working for years.

Very unpleased costumer
I bought this product 3 weeks ago, I was very excited to see it had a remote. When it arrived i could not wait to hook it up. The adapter was very touchy and attracted a lot of static... I was not pleased, however i was even more unpleased that the remote did not work either. I contacted the seller, he never apologized about it, just sent me a "new" remote that i received today, and that one does not work either. I believe this product is very cheap, and I'd rather pay a few more dollars to have one that actually works. DON'T BUY THIS!

Watch out - multiple versions out there!
Watch out, there are multiple versions of the same product out there... The first one I bought was awesome (it shows "Pyrus electronics" as the logo) - so I ordered another one... which arrived with no manual or extra fuses, had a much inferior display, and didn't work right (loses its settings every time the car ignition is turned off, or the device is jostled) - VERY lame.

You get what you pay for...
I bought this FM transmitter 2 weeks ago, and was super pumped to try it out. With all the different inputs, a remote and a few other features, this thing looked good. The price was pretty good - got it in the neighborhood of $10.

That being said, this product just feels like it's cheap. As soon as i picked it up, I thought," This thing isn't going to last any more than my tank of gas". I was right. I drove for maybe 2 hours and the AUX input stopped working. Awesome. I just didn't touch it for a while and tried it again and it worked. It current doesn't work after not being touched for an entire week. My favorite part is how it has the quality control sticker right on it, ironic.

Before it broke it was just ok. It put out a strong signal and was very easy to use. It put out ZERO bass, and I mean ZERO. My car has a sub in it, and it never kicked, not ever. For that reason I'd have bought a new one anyway. It's good for someone who just wants to listen, but not for someone who wants to rock out or have a rave in their car.

At least it's not expensive.
This product is cheap, so if you're on a budget and want something that will work for a long road trip or until you get something else, it's fine. The shuffle feature is a little touchy, but this product did work fairly well for a few months. However, when I wanted to change the music out and I took out the card and put it back in, it pretty much stopped working. The first song would play, but if you tried to skip or shuffle, it would stop playing music and say "NO DEVICE." For ten bucks, I got a few good months out of it but next time I will buy something else.

Does not hold the iPhone/iPod securely when driving. Device falls out when car is in motion and goes over bumps.

Not Terrible But Not Great Either
This works ok. It doesn't fit in my car because I have a manual and the stick is in the way. I have to use it with it turned all sideways and upside down which is pointless in a way. I have to take it out in order to change the songs. I wish I had gotten one that wasn't designed to sit up and be convenient. When I go over bumps, it causes my ipod to shuffle- REALLY REALLY annoying. I mean, REALLY annoying, especially since I can't see the screen due to the position I have to set it in. However, I got it because my other transmitter couldn't find a station to play my ipod with any sort of clarity and this does provide good sound. You can hardly tell its a transmitter. If you have a power outlet in a position that this thing can sit in comfortably and not be constantly moved around it would be fine. I'm not sure what the deal is with the bumpy shuffling. It might be an ipod thing however, I've never noticed before this transmitter. It might have something to do with how it fits into the holder. I don't think I paid much more than $10- $12 so it's ok for that. I'll probably buy a different one eventually though.

Fell Apart, doesn't fit iPod touch
Although this item is inexpensive, it is not worth the money. After just a few uses in my power outlet in the car, the adapter fell apart inside the power outlet. It has really poor construction. Also, as many others have mentioned, it is bulky and if you have cup holders near your power outlet, it won't fit. Additionally, it didn't fit the iPod touch. The Touch was longer, rendering the remote control useless because it blocked the top. The iPod fell out of the holder all the time, too.

It's ok, but a bit awkward.
The sound quality is great, and probably the best feature for this product. However, it is very awkwardly shaped for my car. The spot where it show you can put the Ipod in there doesn't really fit. But I have to keep it all the way open, otherwise I can't put my car into Park while it is still in there. Also since the Ipod doesn't fit where it is supposed to go, the line from the adapter is too short. It is only a couple of inches out, and so was trying to figure out what is a good way to maneuver it to try to listen to certain music files. Which thankfully most of the time a friend of mine did, because it would have been a bit dangerous for me since I was driving.
Overall it is good, if you want something and don't mind the bulk and awkwardness of the product.

Died after 2 months of use never had a clear signal-stay away!!!
Yet another Cheapo FM Transmitter that died on me. 3rd one I bought on Amazon that cost around 10$ all of them have Failed. Stay away from these period. especially this one. sound quality is bad and mine stopped working after 2 months. You can only have decent sound quality with ipod max volume and car volume half volume otherwise lots of static of high pitched noises. It takes 30 minutes every day to find a decent station and it wont be a preset one. Even if there is a station that is not used at all that doesn't mean it will work well with this unit. Sound Quality and Build Quality are horrible. Do not waste your money like I did.
