FINALLY an adapter that works as advertised
Just received this adapter, and I have to say.. it's the best one I've owned so far.

After having asus N13-USB and d-link wireless adapters, I have to say.. this thing is hands down the best of the bunch. The last 2 adapters were very poor; they would either lose connection to the router or connection to the internet. This thing has been rock solid for the past 2+ hours, which makes me very happy. Well worth the $30 so far. I didn't know that I could get speeds this fast. I'm also getting 3-4 bars consistently. That's 1-2 more bars than my last 2 adapters.

My only con is the ugly aesthetics / generic style of the adapter and dock, but it's only a minor issue to deal with.

Great Product and Customer Service
Great product - better customer support. Experienced a problem installing in a Windows 7 configuration. The problem turned out to be a conflict with Kaspersky Internet Security. Once net adapter parameters were set to ignore Kaspersky, Medialink worked great.

A great product for a great price
This is my first experience with using a Wireless adapter. The Medialink N adapter is easily installed and works very well. The whole process of installation was effortless, and I'm very happy with the results.

BUY IT!
This thing is great... with the included cradle... and software included... the performance is very very good. The software if you choose to use it gives detailed TX/RX packet information, as well as current, real time connection speed. The cradle isn't just good for the desktop... it is good for a laptop too... the more junk you have connected directly into your laptop... the more the chance you will snap it off if you put it down the wrong way--- damaging either the add-on or the port.

Now I just got this thing but so far I have had NO problems with it. I am not easily pleased.

Great addition to TIVO
Setup was a breeze. It took very little time for the setup and recognition of the adaptor by my computer. It updates with the Tivo server and links to my pictures very well. I'm going to link with my Rhapsody server tonight and don't anticipate any problems. Anyone having Tivo should use it to it's full potential by getting one of these.

Superb
This product works great and we are happy to be able to use TIVO again. We did not have a phone line because of using cell phones. This brought this capability back to us. We are very happy. THANKS!

A Great Device
I recently purchased a Tivo Series 2 with wireless capabilities, so it was a no brainer to also purchase the Tivo Wireless Adapter to go with it. I'm glad I did. The wireless adapter allows the Tivo to sync with the programming system by using your wireless home network. No more phone cords running to the back of the tv. You can also program the Tivo to record a show remotely from your office or any another computer. This is awesome if you have left home for the day and forgot to record something or find out later there is a show you would like to record. The wireless adapter also allows you to sync with your home computer so you can order movies online from Amazon. I have done this once already and it is a really convenient feature. You can also play your MP3's through your tv set or watch slideshows of photos that are on your computer...again, totally wireless. If you own a Series 2 or Series 3 Tivo, I highly recommend this device! It is also small, sturdy and attractively designed with brushed steel.

Tivo wireless
This normally works exceptionally well and is easy to install. My daughter has two and it connects her 2 tivo units, so she can watch what is recorded on either one. Very cool. My router seems to be the problem because I can't seem to get mine to work. Will ask an expert to look at it.

Great little receiver
This is the second adapter I have purchased. (I have two tivos now.) It works perfectly, and also supports the safer encryption - WAP 2. The only problem that I have had is that it did not receive well in my old house, where the transmitter was in the basement and the receiver was on the first floor on the other side of the house. My reception there said fair to poor, but it worked perfectly - receiving all the tivo information, and my recording requests from the internet. I would definitely buy this again.

It doesn't work
It is a refurbished one. I set it up but it worked only 2-3 minutes, then no more work. Every time works 2-3 minutes. Bad quality. Refurbished product doesn't mean a bad one, right?

Extremely Simple to Install
Just plug it in and you're ready to go. Works pretty good with computer in basement bedroom and router in main floor office. Not a perfect connection but haven't found a wireless connection that works perfectly in our scenario. Loved the super easy installation - no spending hours trying to get the device to talk to the network. Would recommend.

Flawless Install & Operation
Quite frankly, I don't understand the negative reviews. I have (for now) a Vista Business 64 O/S, and this wireless adapter installed flawlessly to my WRT400N router via WPA. I'll issue an update as required when I go to Windows 7. It performs flawlessly as well. I *do* have Version 2, and that may be the discriminating factor. Nothing but praise for this (and all) Linksys products.

This year of the crapshoot
Attempted an install on a Win XP, replacing 2 former adapters that had issues - they at least functioned but have found new homes.
Tried the supplied install disk, tried installing via Windows as suggested here, used updated drivers, tried some permutations of the aforementioned, crossed fingers, chanted, tried it all again, put my D-Link router closer... etc.
Simply could not establish a connection.
Some may, some might. Roll the dice.

WUSB 600n Loses Connection
This adapter is horrible. It has a good signal, but disconnects every 2-5 minutes. The adapter must be unplugged and replugged to renew the connection. I'm running Vista 64 -bit with the latest drivers on the adapter and router. My warranty is up so I'm stuck. I'm ready to get a new adapter. Anyone have any suggestions?

Great idea, poor performance
Perhaps it was the location of this device in my home that presented issues, but it never worked. I increased my band width of internet, and tried several changes to our router, but this just wouldn't stream movies for us.

Cool Wireless Options
Linksys by Cisco Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video AdapterThis was a product that my husband recommended(wanted), he's the gotta have it, up to date technology gadget guy. Anyway, this product has great, cool wireless features that is enjoyable for everyone in the family. We even signed up for NetFlix and can now instantly watch movies imported from NetFlix on our tv--this is very great! By, by Red Box! It also has shows and movies that are both entertaining and educational, so it's well worth the money despite my initial hesitation in purchasing it.

Unconvinced
If I were to do it over again, I would spring for the netgear home theater wireless system. This thing is very fickle. I've had to reset and reconfigure it twice because it stopped working. It will not run on my Sony Bravia TV at all, but works on my playstation. Setting it up is not easy. I couldn't get the cd to run properly and had to manually go into the file to access the proper set up program. Because it only has one port, I can't run multiple devices off it. The streaming quality is just OK. My wireless is some distance away and I run Playon's software on my computer (Windows Vista) to stream live content off the internet - hulu, netflix, youtube and numerous other scripts. That is really cool and I suggest checking it out. So in the end, I would seriously give netgear's device a good looking over before I bought this.

Difficult to set up; but extremely versitile when you are done.
I read the many reviews on the Linksys WET610N wireless bridge on Amazon.com and I realized that it could be quite difficult to configure. I also realized that the "amazingly simple" series of videos would be misleading. Nevertheless, I decided that the product was perfect for what I wanted to do, and I had it delivered overnight.

Sure enough, throwing the "simple installation CD" in the garbage was the easiest, and smartest, part of the installation. However, I did configure the WET610N and it is performing admirably in my living room--even attached to a switch with three Internet devices attached. I am truly impressed!

The problem is that the "simple installation CD" would have never found the unit on my network. The unit was assigned an IP address by DHCP that was different from the default. Resetting the WET610N would have done no good. In fact, it would have never been found.

Now for the good news! Window 7 found it automatically. And, by logging into the firmware of the unit, according to instructions posted elsewhere on this list, I was able to configure the WET610N exactly as I wanted to so it fell within my DHCP range. I assigned it a fixed IP address where I wanted it to be, and it has worked flawlessly. Nevertheless, people who do no know their SSID, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and what *kind* of encryption they have, as well as their security code, on their network may have trouble configuring it manually. From the other posts I was able to figure out what I needed to do, but I would not call it easy.

The product is outstanding, nevertheless! I have it running an 8-port switch and I have three other devices plugged into it. I updated the firmware of my TV and receiver through the WET610N connection.

If you are having install issues in Windows 7, just restart in safe mode with networking, and should be good to go. Will not install while running Kapersky Anti-Virus.

Hi-Fi Wifi
This network adapter is hands down the best I've come across out of many.Highly recommended.And the fact that it was refurbished had no bearing on it's performance.

The provided Installation CD showed each step how to install and was completed very quickly. The device has worked perfectly for us. The refurbished status has no negatives; it looked new and price was very attractive. I especially like the provided USB extension since the USB ports on this notebook would not have allowed easy plug in of the device.

Works with WD TV Live
I ordered this adapter for use in a WD TV Live. Upon plugging it in, it found the available networks and connected right away. Streaming a 720p MKV over 5GHz 802.11n worked perfectly.

The only downside is that the plastic casing is too large to allow the adapter to connect fully to the back of the WD TV Live. I ordered a Cables To Go - 30501 - FlexUSB USB A Male to A Female Adapter (Black) to address this problem. The adapter did come with a USB extension "dock" cable but it is quite cumbersome.

Jury is still out
I've had this adaptor hooked up for awhile now and am using the wrt160n router. so far I can't say that the range is as good as the linksys wireless g router and adaptor that I had before. When it does hookup the speed is definitely faster. Fast shipping and good tracking as always.

You don't need this
There is another option to get internet to your blu-ray! I used my old wireless router as wireless access point in my living room. Then you can run a cat-5 cable to your blu-ray, TV, etc. Much better than $80 for this.

is this linkstick absolutely required?
Can anyone tell me what is so special about this Samsung - LinkStick ? Is it not possible to attach a USB wifi and connect to the router? Is there some proprietary code that only works with the player that is "worth" $80?

Can't live without this!
I LOVE this thing! We bought the Samsung Blueray that streamed Netflix and were disappointed to find you had to buy one more piece to get it to work properly. That's my only complaint. I'm so happy we now bought this LinkStick because before now we had a wire running through our house to the router and well...it was a safety hazard and tacky! We stream Netflix daily and we love being able to do it wirelessly!! If you buy the BlueRay don't forget to buy this lil gadget too you'll be glad you spent the extra $80! We tried other wireless LAN adapters but you have to splurge and spend the money on the SAMSUNG one - it's the only thing that actually works and it does work well! We are very happy with our purchase.

Samsung Wirekess Lan
The adapter works perfectly. No problem at all. I am able to connect both, my Samsung TV and Blue Ray player to Internet via networking very easy.

Works exactly as it should
When I plugged in the adapter I had a few problems getting it configured. It appeared to not get an IP address from the DHCP router so I used a static IP address. I don't think this is a problem of the adapter. I have been using it to stream movies from Netflix and it works with very few pauses.

Not for gaming
Positives:
1. Respectable price in comparison to similar devices.
2. Extension cord for improving signal.
3. Easy to install.

Negatives:
1. Poor signal consistency. Used on a PC that previously had a Belkin PCI card that did not spike. Once this card was installed, ping times to Google or any other destination spiked to 2000ms a few times a minute - a significant problem if you game online.
2. Large size (two fingers wide, the length of a credit card, and about 1/4" to 1/2" thick).

All in all, a usable device for every day computing and the average user, but certainly not a device for demanding users.

Great company, great product
I purchased a Medialink USB wireless adapter when the internal wireless card in my PC laptop stopped working. At first, I couldn't get the product installed, so I called technical support. I still can hardly believe how nice they were, how well they knew their product and also computers in general, and how thoroughly they tried to help me. It turned out that the internet on my laptop is completely broken, so the product didn't work with that computer even after technical support's help, but that has nothing to do with the product or the company. When I tried the wireless adapter on my other computer, it worked fine. I would recommend this company to anyone, no matter what you're purchasing from them. I do believe they are one of the last companies left that actually knows what "customer service" truly means.

Loving it so far!
Just received and installed this tonight. It took no time at all to install and was incredibly simple. Everything went smoothly & I was online immediately. Strong signal, fast connection -- love it so far! (Bought this one to replace another by IOGear, which I had to return because it caused my machine to freeze up within minutes, and kept doing the same after continually having to manually shut down my machine & trying again. This Medialink is sooooo worth the extra $7 or so!)

It's okay
I guess I should have read a little more, I thought you were to plug this into your USB install the program and that's it. It was basically simple installation, but I don't like the fact that you have to plug the device into a cord and that cord goes into the USB. For some reason it didn't work at first, it wouldn't pick up the signal of the router I received from Comcast, but my WII would????????? then all of a sudden it just started working and has been working pretty good so far..

Didn't work so well for me...
I have struggled with this adaptor since purchased, I am not techno-savy so may have struggled more than most. Had to reinstall twice because it disappeared from my Windows XP laptop after initial installation,then it only works with the USB adaptor cord on it. Struggled (played around in Control Panel until something worked) to get it to maintain a connection with my home network. Sad part is, this adaptor had the best reviews of all I read on Amazon. Got to be an easier way for us Non-techie Baby Boomers to do this.

Really simple!
I used the TrendNet Wireless N to connect my Directv receiver to the internet. While I'm still waiting for the OnDemand to finish downloading I have to say that this setup was easy. I used the installation disc since I have a secure network and needed to enter a password, but it was SO easy! The installation book had very clear and easy to understand steps. There was a simple diagram so that I could make sure I was doing everything right. The only thing that was different from the instructions was that I connected the ethernet cable to my wireless router rather than my computer since the main computer is wired and I would have had to unplug it to follow what they instructed. Really, though, it was not difficult at all. So far I am very impressed with this product!!!!

Great buy for the price
I bought the TRENDnet gaming adapter to stream netflix to my Samsung blue ray player. Since I have a slightly older router that doesn't support WPS I had to first attach the gaming adapter to my laptop and configure it. Other than that it has worked great without any problems.

Like other reviewers, we have to restart this device EVERY time we use it.
I bought this for use with an LG blu-ray player. The setup was easy (my 14yo did it very quickly). It's great for streaming Pandora and Netflix. But we have to restart it every time we want to use it, as it won't get a signal otherwise. If it weren't for that annoyance, I'd give it 5 stars.

Solid, Fast and Easy Wireless N Gaming Adapter
Just bought this to connect my XBOX 360, Direct TV HD-DVR and Media Center PC to my WLAN. Really, these types of devices should be wired and not WIFI, but I am not running cable so...

The device was fairly easy to setup, although it was a bit quirky and required a couple attempts at installation. The glitch is, if you set up the WIFI settings incorrectly: A) There is no indication the config will not work, i.e. the setup will continue anyway. B) Once you finish the setup and go to save the config it will churn, trying to save then error out. The end result is you have to go back to the setup and start over. Not really that big of deal...

Once setup however, it works GREAT! It's fast and even though I have all these media devices connected, each device got an IP address and I was able to stream or use one device at a time with great throughput. Another great product TrendNet!

Linksys by Cisco WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter
This product installed flawlessly in my emachines PC with a Windows XP/SP3 OS. The usable range from the local signal sources is very good as observed by clicking the "View Available Networks" option and seeing not only my home network displayed with 5 bars, but also several other networks in my Condo displayed with 1-3 bars.

Works for me
I had been previously using a My Essentials USB adapter. But, the connection kept dropping or my computer wouldn't detect my home's wireless. This product was recommended to me by my tech-savvy friends. It worked right out of the box. I followed the set-up CD and didn't have any problems.
Note: My computer is running Windows XP. My router is a Linksys WRT54G wireless G.

Bluescreens Windows 7 and Vista
I bought this as a low-priced alternative to some of the bigger names out there, but I should have just shelled out the extra money. I've installed this on both Vista and Windows 7 and I admit the installation was easier on Windows 7. Windows 7 recognized it right away as a Realtek card and installed drivers. Vista was not so fortunate as I had to put in a disc to make it work. Regardless, after the adapter has been running a few hours, the machine bluescreens. Over the course of a day, this can happen 2-3 times.

In addition, it only provides a fraction of the available throughput of my Linksys adapter. I replaced this adapter with a Linksys PCI card and the PCI card has no issue using the full 54Mbps provided by the G protocal. This card, however, hovers between 11Mbps and 36Mbps. Same location, same power output from my WRT54G router. Granted, this is probably to do with the internal antenna on this adapter vs the external antenna on my Linksys card, but it knocks the adapter again in my book.

Also, I think the heat dissipation is poor on this adapter which is probably it's primary problem. It gets warm. Too warm. That coupled with the fact that my desktops are typically active 20-24 hours per day, makes this a poor alternative for a desktop or a frequently-on laptop. I strongly suggest spending the money on something else.

As a Windows 7 user, I wasn't satisfied with this adapter because I planned to use it for more than just a few hours at a time. It's frequent bluescreen causing malfunctions were more than irritating.

As a Vista user, my experience with this card was even more frustrating. The adapter was difficult to connect and wouldn't stay connected. Plus, it too bluescreens frequently.

General feeling: Stay away from this product, no matter what the price. Thank goodness I only spent $15 on it.

Awesome Adapter for the price!
Easy to install, I was up and connecting in under 5 minutes on Windows 7. I have also used this on my Windows Vista computer with no problems.

I recommend this for anyone on a budget that needs connectivity for email and internet surfing.
