Good wireless device
I am using this device with a Samsung model UN40C6500 LED TV. Setup was a breeze and it was up-and-running within a minute or so. My wireless is only 'G' and the transfer speeds are the same as my other 'G' devices. I have done a number of TV on / TV off steps and the wireless continues to work well and I do not have to re-enter the security code. It just plain works.
My only issue with it is purely cosmetic. The actual device sticks out beyond the side of the TV a quarter of an inch or so and the included 90 degree connector makes the device protrude perpendicular to the back of the TV, so you would not be able to hang it on the wall.
Works Great
Connected this LAN to my Samsung Blu Ray Player and entered the security code for the DSL Router and that was it. Connected and was online in less then 30 seconds. Movies download from Netflix in less then 1 minute and your good to go. The LAN connected to the Blu Ray Player is in a cabnet and the Router is on the second floor, but no problem connected w/o a problem.
Great Product
This is just what I was looking for and it worked great on our new Blue Ray DVD player.

quit working after one week
Bought 2 n wireless adapters. Very easy to setup. One still working great but other one failed after one week. The power just wouldn't work. It had been in a surge protector with the tivo and tv so don't think that was a problem. Transfers from one tivo to another were very fast when both were working. Amazon is shipping out a replacement at no charge so hopefully I just had a defective unit.
Not Up to TIVO Standards
I had high hopes for the N Adapter but have been generally disappointed in its performance. First of all, the installation is awkward. You must connect the adapter to your computer in order to establish connection to your wireless network. The connection wizard seems to work ok as long as you remember to reset the adapter before changing the network parameters. I have experienced numerous losses of the wireless connection even though the router, an Apple Extreme Base Station, is in relatively close proximity. This necessitates unplugging the adapter from the TIVO and the power outlet, taking it back to the computer and repeating the setup process. Tiresome after repeated episodes. The older network adapter (b/g) was much more user friendly and could be accomplished via TIVO's on-screen settings. At this point, I'm sorry I purchased it.
Works perfectly
This is exactly what you need for the TIVO to work perfectly with your home wireless network. Don't consider anything else....go for the real thing which works perfectly.
Almost perfect addition to Your TiVo
With more and more home computer users going to 802.11n only networks, the addition of this new Wireless N Adapter from Tivo is well-timed.
It works well, does the job, and, with the exception of a somewhat awkward procedure for connection to non-Point & Play routers (like my Apple Airport Extreme), is easy to use.
TiVo Wireless - awesome!!
The instructions were easy to follow; setup for both the TiVo and my wireless router was a snap.
Love being able to connect with TiVo Central and receive Netflix wirelessly.
TiVo AG0100 Wireless G USB Network Adapter for TiVo Series 2 and Series 3 DVRs

Note: This adapter is for use with the TiVo Series2 or Series3 DVRs only. Do not use with a TiVo Series1 or the DIRECTV DVR with TiVo.

good upgrade for our series 2 tivo
debated on getting an N adapter, but with other g devices on our network, the extra cost wasn't worth it at this time. very easy to install and was fairly easy to set up on our hidden wireless network with WAP2 security. only problem was a typo on my part and i didn't shut down the system before swapping the new adapter in. works great and picked up a little better reception.
TiVo continues excellent quality
I have had TiVo for a number of years now. Will not change to cable company DVR as it does not have features that TiVo has nor is the cost as competitive. Our TiVo just gave out after nearly 6 years of service. We purchased the Premiere and thus needed a new Network Adapter. This one was a cinch to install. No problems - smooth transition. Have used this for 4 weeks now and it has been excellent. Never any disruption of service.
Does a decent job, one minor flaw
I have 2 Tivo's at home and a Mac running Tivo to Go software and I am constantly moving shows back and fourth between tivos and the computer. I once had this adapter on both TiVo boxes and the transfer rate was decent. I could start a transfer and within a minute start to watch the show being transferred without having any "pauses".
What I didn't like about this was the design. The foldup antenna piece I think should be more solid or "lock" in the up position. I positioned this behind my TV and if a cable hit it, etc the antenna piece woudl fall down and the transfer rate woudl slow considerably.
As for installing it, couldn't be easier. Plug it into the tivo, go to your network settings and enter your network information. I had it up and running in less then 5 minutes per tivo and have been running the adapters since 2/2009 so it's been about a year and a half with no issues.
I would recommend this.
Great Gadget
I received the TIVO adapter very quickly. I believe it was within three or four days. I took it out and plugged it in. It immediately found my home network and I was ready to update my TIVO programming. It was that easy. My router is on the other side of the house on a different floor but it still picked it up. Works beautifully.
Really bad
Doesn't work even though we have a N router. Wish I'd tried the cheaper off brand.

XP and Ubuntu 10
I just purchased two of these and installed them on an XP machine and an Intel box running Ubuntu 10. The XP box installed fine using the "found new software" (ignore the instructions to load the software first). Ubuntu worked fine without any install; I just set up my network parameters in the wireless section and it connected right away. Very happy.
As of 7/20/10 - No Win 7 drivers
Title says it all for me. It worked fine under XP until I upgraded to Windows 7.
Not your father's Linksys
I was using this adapter to replace an ethernet network setup after one of my cats chewed through the CAT-5 cable hooked up to one of our desktop pcs. Installation was a snap with pci card and with software. However, the software just would not make a connection with the internet despite making a connection with the wireless access point (another Linksys product). After 2 hours on the phone with Linksys tech support they finally concluded that the product was not compatible with Windows XP SP3. They suggested I get a wireless USB adapter so I bought the Linksys wireless-G adapter and that didn't work either-another compatibility issue with Windows XP Pro SP3. I don't know about you but it seems to me that since Cisco bought Linksys the quality of Linksys products has really declined dramatically and I cannot recommend them any more. I have a 10 year old Linksys ethernet router that works just fine so I gotta believe that Cisco must have played a direct role in the decline in quality of Linksys products. Question is whose products do you buy? From what I read, Netgear and D-link products are just as bad if not worse.
Linksys Wireless G
Been using them for years, just bought 3 more, received them very quick and packed well.
There are cheaper alternatives.
I got two adapters and a router for $60. Good luck trying to find that deal again.

Worked when DLINK DWA160 didn't!
5 stars to Cisco-Lynksys WUSB600N!!!!!
Been having a huge problem with Dlink DWA 160 HW Ver B1 FW ver 2.00 adapter dropping wireless connection all the time (every 5 or 10 minutes), large downloads fail, web pages stop loading, etc. Using DLINK 655 wireless router. "Received Deauthentication Token", "wireless system with MAC address ... associated, wireless system with MAC address ... linked" entries endlessly in wireless router log. As an IT professional, decided to figure out and fix the problem. On the phone with tech support for hours and hours, no changes. Days on the web researching, lots of people with the same problem, but no fix. Tired of BS from vendors saying its "interference" or some other externel problem. Starting to look like a problem with the 802.11n specification.
Had to buy a new wireless adapter for daughter's computer, decided to try the Cisco-Lynksys WUSB600N, and following suggestions from others, inserted the adapter first, then manually selected the driver location onthe CD. Up and running in less than 2 minutes. PROBLEM WITH DROPPING SIGNAL COMPLETELY CURED. Not a single error in wireless router log for 2 days now, not a single dropped connection, downloaded 3GB file with absolutely no problem at all.
Better than expected
Purchased this to speed up my wireless network reception. I get free wireless from my condo community. Reception has been spotty at best. I installed the Ultra range plus, rebooted my computer and it works great. thought it was a bit costly but since I get free internet service, what can I say. Purchased it at Sam's Club for $59.
Works fine as a USB network card
The device works fine, got here quickly and installed easy ... But I just wasn't able to get any more range from it than from my normal laptop wireless or my iPhone :(
A product that did not fit my needs
This is a good product that did not fit the need for additional wireless coverage. Returned product
Completely disappointed
When I originally installed this, I put it on a hacked version of windows 7 32bit (shhhhhh) and it installed just fine, but my mother was constantly calling me while I was at work stating that she can't get on the internet. I blamed her as the cause as she was probably doing something wrong or touching things she shouldn't. Months later I purchased a legit copy of windows 7 (64 bit)and installed it (see happy ending) expecting that maybe now it will work. Thing were looking promising but BEHOLD! the same issues. I downloaded the latest drivers and nothing. After a few min it disconnects again.
*mind you I work as desktop/IT support for a banking firm. This isn't a major thing for me, or anyone for that matter, to figure out*
All in all this is a complete upset. Here I am yelling at my own mother when it was the adapter that was the issue.
I did not have ANY issues with the cheap-o belkin USB adapter I purchased a while back. And if it weren't for my compulsion to buy nice things and the fact I accidentally snapped the Belkin adapter by dropping it and stepping on it, I would have gone back to the Belkin adapter. This was a waist of money. Also mind you that I am also not running shady equipment either. I was shocked to see this kind of performance from a product with CISCOs name slapped on it.

Had to Buy Another Brand Adapter
Unfortunately, this adapter lasted about 3 weeks before falling apart. The plastic around the electronics separates easily and makes it prone to being damaged. Otherwise, it did provide a decent stronger signal onto my laptop here at home.
Just purchased another make and hope that it will last longer.
Does not work with OS X 10.6.4
I downloaded latest driver it shows the local networks fine, but bombs when I try and connect to the network. Almost but . . . fail.
Tremendous Value with Easy Set-up!
Worked straight out of the box with Ubuntu 10.04 and the current version of openSUSE. And picks up more networks from a greater distance than any I have come across!
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will buy another one in a heartbeat when I need one!!!!
The RTL8187 driver does not work well with Win XP
I bought this product because quite a few people give it a high rate. However, the product is not working well with my Windows XP desktop.
The biggest issue is that the RTL 8187 driver just can not obtain IP address on my Windows XP Sp2 box, although it works well on my Windows 7 desktop.
The driver coming in the CD may not work well. You probably like to install an older version, Please check it here. [...]
It seems that this one can support WPA mode better.
However, I still have the "Obtain IP" issue. I have to manually set the IP and gateway. After that, please restart the machine. By doing this, this USB adapter starts to work.
It is a long and miserable way. But, finally, I make it work.
Good antenna, but fragile
I bought this in order to steal wifi from a library here on campus. It worked great for about 2 weeks. Then it stopped getting any connection. I found that if I applied some force and bent it into a certain shape, I could get reception again. After a while this stopped working too, so I popped it open and took a look inside. It turns out the solder connecting the antenna to the device had broken. My bending solution was simply bringing the contacts back together. I fixed it by connecting the two with aluminum foil tape. It works as well as ever now.
This is a good product when it's working, but (in my case) it breaks easily. If you're prepared to fix it, you can have yourself a very high-quality antenna for only $13.

Junk
This refurbished Cisco-Linksys adapter is a piece of junk. The signal reception is beyond poor (2 bars or less when other machines near it have 5 full bars). It dropped connection every few minutes. I use VPN to connect to work and it would drop every 5 minutes. I returned it in less than a week.
Easy to set up, works great
Even though the unit only sees my roommate's wireless as "good," I'm getting far-better-than-good throughput with this. It was easy to set up, and works reliably and without hassle.
didn't really need this....oh well
my husband swore up and down that we needed this so we bought it together with the cisco valet and the cisco valet is really all we needed. but it all worked so it's all good.
Excellent and Cheap - Nice Refurb
I'm all about B-stock electronics, and this purchase was no different. I bought my WUSB600N from Electronic Direct via Amazon and it arrived as a version 2 model (Cisco-Linksys WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter) no less. It was shipped quickly with prime and arrived just as stated. I plugged it in and XP found it right away. I took the advice of other reviewers and let XP install the drivers from the provided CD. In less than 2 min I was up and running. Found my wireless network, entered the pass key and viola, I was connected to my Linksys G router. For $20 - $25 how can you go wrong. Great purchase and I can go to a N router now, whenever I feel like it.
Works great for XP and newer OS
I have used this on XP, Vista and 7 and have had zero problems. Just don't use the supplied software, let windows manage the connection and use the drivers supplied, or download the program and just use the drivers.

Useless...so far
I bought this item as part of the bundle Amazon offered on the Asus Bamboo laptop. It was relatively easy to setup, but I have encountered nothing but problems since attempting to actually make it work.
I have updated the firmware and the drivers as specified by Netgear. However, everytime I connect the laptop to my television the WiDi application automatically resizes the display on my laptop. Annoying, but whatever. After that, the application goes on to lockup my laptop to the point of requiring a hard boot.
Netgear support has succeeded in repeating everything I say to them back twice to me, but that is it so far.
Conclusion: Product does not do what it is supposed to. From the looks of it (what with a firmware upgrade and "critical" driver updates right out of the box) this appears to be a half-baked, buggy offering. Wish I would have known before hand.
Might as well just get a long HDMI cable...
I tried the NETGEAR Push2TV with the ASUS U43JC laptop, and the quality is terrible on my LG 32" HDTV.
For some of you who might have did some study on this Intel WIDI technology would know that there are about 1~2 second delay on the TV display from your laptop. My initial thought was to just use this for video instead of gaming, but even video has terrible lag and artifact. I have tried to use it from 1 foot away as well as 10 feet away, the quality of the video did not change, and it still produces choppy video.
My final thought is that this product works if you just want to show some photos and maybe powerpoint presentation; however, to play simple videos or games will not be adequate. Do yourself a favor and get a $5 10-feet HDMI cable instead of this $100 adapter.
Lousy Connection, On-Off, Sound Does Not Work on TV
I initially got this as part of Amazon's bamboo 14 inch laptop promo. This is entirely a scam. This is not worth the [...]. Heck, this isn't even worth [...]. Intel's wireless display technology is abysmal. This is pathetic. Seriously. They need to develop the thing more fully before they put it on the market. It's a disgrace to Intel. The connection repeatedly breaks on and off. It isn't even clear. I think VGA is clearer than this. Also, the sound does not work on the TV. I put it close to my laptop and had a clear line of sight, but still no luck.
I sent this and the crappy Asus laptop back to Amazon. What a scam.
Choppy
I know technology and I know if this product was released in 2003 it would have been huge, however in 2010 I ask myself, why would anyone sell this?
Basically this is nothing more than Intel sharing your computers wifi connection and using it to send a display signal to a set top box (this unit).
First -- Yes it works..
Second -- Yes it's laggy to the point of making it unasable for anything related to video
Third -- it's target audience should be businesses, not home consumers who might want to use it for more than a power point presentation.
This product is simpily a huge disappointment. You get the performance as if you were doing a remote PC session into someone elses machine -- meaning the same type of lap and copyiness.
Overall 2 stars because it does work.
Brilliant!
So much better than DLNA which only supports local content. It's like adding a 46" screen to my laptop!

Work perfectly!
This Medialink Wireless N Adapter easy to install and works perfectly! I'm running OS XP 32-Bit with a 2Wire router. I purchased this adapter about 1 month ago.
Thang D
One-Step Wireless
I bought this for my Windows 7 desktop, plugged it into the USB port and within seconds I was connected to the internet. No menus or installation to deal with, a strong signal without any problems. I am truly impressed with the ease and usefulness of this affordable USB wireless adapter.
How to get more than 65 Mbps
I bought this product for a Windows XP box about 1 month ago. Installation was very easy.
Initially all I was getting was only getting 65 Mbps despite a strong signal. I contacted support and the first reply wasn't too helpful but then another support agent send me this:
Some 802.11n routers give you the option to adjust the bandwidth of the 2.4Ghz channel
you are broadcasting. Make sure your width is set to 40MHz or "Auto". If it is set to 20MHz it will limit your speed to 65Mbps.
If you are only connecting to your router using 802.11n devices, be sure to set your router to "N only" so you are not compromising your speed for 802.11b or 802.11g devices.
Turns out my Dlink Dir-655 was set to the 20MHz. After switching "Transmission Rate" to "Auto 20/40 MHz" I can consistently get link speeds of 135 Mbps and often 150 Mbps.
My router is about 35 feet away going through 1 wall.
Apparently the medialink website will be updated with a better support page. This information was not easily available in early August.
Other notes... Not sure what happened but my wireless adapter was not working.
Typing 'ipconfig' on my computer printed nothing. After re-installing the drivers the system was back to normal. I am not sure what cuased the drivers to get messed up...
I found out the usb adapter doesn't turn on until you logon to the system directly. A minor annoyance if I want to remote desktop to that box after powering it on. I don't think a PCI adapter will have this issue.
Overall, a great product for the price.
Excellent Product and performanc
I had purchased similar USB wireless adapter product from other vendor before. It got disconnected very often and I could not find out whether it is my wireless router or USB adapter itself. After reading feedback from Amazon, I decided to purchase from Medialink and install on my desktop, which is in different floor from my wireless router.
The package included a separate dock so I can place USB adapter on dock instead of connecting to desktop directly. After using for 2 months, I found it is running very stable compared to my previous experience on other vendor product.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of its menu user interface. It's really difficult to understand before reading online menu.
In general, I would strongly recommend this product for people who need to connect their desktop via wireless adapter.
Beware of potential installation issues with (free) Zonealarm
Tried to install this on a Windows 7 PC using the procedures and CD provided. No luck, the USB device was obviously detected by Windows and its little LED flashed blue, but from a networking point of view it said "disconnected". Further troubleshooting via Windows' 7 built in network trouble shooter led to an "unspecified problem with the driver".
I tried updating the driver, uninstalling and then leaving it to Windows to find its own driver, but nothing worked.
Then via a web search I read about a possible interaction with ZoneAlarm (free) that prevented correct driver installation. And indeed, this was the case. You have to uninstall your LAN card driver, uninstall ZA (just disabling won't work), restart Windows, let Windows install its driver of choice, and *then* the LAN card works just fine!
At this point you can either re-install ZA or just let the Windows firewall do its thing. Hope this saves some others the couple of hours I wasted on what should have been a trivial procedure.
Oh yes, I get full signal strength with the USB device plugged in horizontally on the back of the PC with the Linksys G router in a different room. Downlink about 5 Mbit/s, uplink about 2Mbit/s (the latter limited by my cable modem).

Reviews
Good product, horrible documentation and configuration.
--This review contains information for users with advanced knowledge of networking--
I am familiar with these types of devices, and I was looking for one for awhile when I found this. I needed a device to bridge my own wireless router into another wireless router, so I asked for this as a gift from someone. Functionally, it works great, but it requires some advanced knowledge to work. When I first got it, the LAN link would not work; after much testing I found that its LAN port was defective. The documentation was horribly inadequate when trying to troubleshoot this issue, apparently the designers never thought that the Ethernet light might not come on and did not document this. I sent a return request in via Amazon, and they handled it extremely well; I got a replacement in 2 days with no fuss. I connected the replacement, and the LAN light came on instantly.
The first problem I got was that I did not get an IP address from the device, as the manual hinted that I should, and the default IP windows gave me prevented me from connecting to the device. The in-box manual made no mention of what the device's default IP address was. I downloaded the manual from the manufacturer's website and found it was 192.168.10.110. I set up my LAN port for a static IP to 192.168.10.254 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and was able to connect to it.
I connected it to my wireless router without incident, but I could not connect to the internet. I set the default gateway and primary DNS server to 192.168.10.110, but apparently the device does not forward DNS requests. Also, the device configuration website lists the IP address under LAN, and does not make any mention of WAN settings. I set the device and my network card back to obtain automatically, and then I was able to connect to the internet. One of the drawbacks to this is that I have to look at its IP address on the main router to be able to configure it, or configure it for a special address in the router's DHCP server. The name of the device is also not reported to the router, indicating someone messed up when they wrote the network protocols on this device. Also, I found an error message that was loosely translated from another language.
The product works, I would not recommend this for users without advanced knowledge of networking. The documentation is severely lacking, and some of the translation is not that good. The CD and in-box manual are of no help whatsoever for troubleshooting.
Not so user friendly
I bought this unit to connect a Blue Ray DVD player to the internet via my wireless network. The initial setup was fairly straight forward, and the unit worked well until it sat inactive overnight. The next day it would not reconnect to the wireless network without being powered down first. This proved to be the case everytime I turned on the Blue Ray player. This is where the ease of use became much more difficult. Trendnet customer service responded 3 days after my request with the instruction to upgrade the firmware. This upgrade process is not spelled out anywhere in the literature accompanying the device. After finding and reading the user manual online, I attempted to upgrade the firmware via the configuration menu on the unit, only, both of my computers don't appear to be able to access the configuration menu as detailed in the user manual. I am now 5 days into my attempt to fix the lost connection issue, and I think maybe it would be easier to just unplug the unit each time I use it!
works great
I am using this with a
TRENDnet 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch with no lag or drag when gaming or streaming video works great.
One of the worst products I've ever bought
First, this product is unable to WPS setup with my Linksys router. Secondly, the only way I can set this up is manually, and I cannot ever access the administration page to update the firmware. I cannot access 192.168.10.110 The reason I want to update the firmware is because every day I have to unplug the device and plug it back for it to work.
Going through and trying to re-configure everything there are multiple points in the configuration where the install fails inexplicably. Sometimes the password will not be changed. Sometimes when I try the WPS setup and put the PIN in my router, the router says it was successfully added, yet I cannot pair the device through the Trendnet configuration. Sometimes the device is discovered in the Setup Wizard, and other times not. This is literally one of the worst products I've ever bought. All I want to do is update the firmware and I cannot even get the product setup to allow access to the administration page.
Resetting the device to default settings did not work as the device will not configure using the same settings it has in the past. This is comical.
Works great for me
Works great for me. I had to hook it up to my computer first to set the wireless password and settings, then when I connected it to my Blu-ray player, it worked perfectly.
