This is one of those "what in the world were they thinking?" movies...
The Dentist (Brian Yuzna, 1996)

There are some movies that are just so outright stupid that you can't help but like them in spite of themselves. They're like the celluloid equivalent of, depending on your political stance, Dan Quayle or Al Gore. The Dentist, one of the few Yuzna/Paoli/Gordon collaborations that ventures far enough outside their obsession for Lovecraft that not a hint of the Old Ones remains, is exactly that kind of film, so joyously braindead that it pretty much dares you to laugh at it. And you will not be able to resist the command.

Corbin Bernsen plays Alan Feinstone, a dentist who's having a really, really bad week. He suspects his supermodel trophy wife (Face/Off's Linda Hoffman) of having an affair with the hot new pool boy. The IRS, in the form of the obnoxious Marvin Goldblum (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' Earl Boen), is coming down on him hard, and while investigating the whole pool boy thing, he kinda sorta accidentally shot his neighbor's dog, which now has a couple of incompetent cops (Dawn of the Dead's Ken Foree and Blowback's Tony Noakes) after him. Things are so bad he starts hallucinating. And that's never a good thing when you're holding motorized tools in your hands. The only bright spot in his life is Sarah (Infested beauty Virginya Keehne), but can Alan get Sarah's braces off before he finally loses it altogether?

Yes, it's as ludicrous as it sounds, and that's a huge part of its charm. Corbin Bernsen always brings an infectious enthusiasm to a project, no matter how stupid it may be, and that's certainly the case here. Some really second-rate actors turn in much better performances than I've ever seen from them (including one who has since risen to prominence in the film world; look for him), and the better actors all seem to have inherited a gift for comic timing. On the other side of the camera, Yuzna has never (as of this writing) been this good as a director again, though Gordon-directed joints by the same team have achieved this level of quality (most notably King of the Ants). It's by no means classic cinema, but it's definitely enough fun for a rental. ** ½
A great and very sick film!
This movie was great... but very sick to watch! No wonder people are scared of going to see The Dentist.
Stomach-churning horror
The Bottom Line:

The Dentist doesn't stand next to Halloween and Psycho in the pantheon of great horror movies--the low-budget nature of the film is sometimes painfully apparent and the characters could use a lot more development--but its scenes of oral horror are grotesque enough to be unsettling and Corbin Bernsen hams it up appropriately in the lead; it isn't a particularly noteworthy movie but neither is it a particularly bad one.

2.5/4
Move over Tim Whatley, Corbin Bernsen is the new dentist in town
At this point in reading our reviews you should know that we have a true love for 90's B horror. Is it the best era for horror? Well yes and no. As far as legitimate horror it usuallu fails miserably. What makes it good is the cheese factor it provides. Always laughable acting, a very poor story line, and special effects a 3rd grade art class could destroy. However tonight we found a true gem known as "The Dentist" being both great and awful at the same time. It walked the line in the exact way Sid likes.

We start off with Dr. Feinstone (Corbin Bersen; best known to Sid for his 48 second role in 1 Sienfeld episdoe and starring spot in Raptor) who happens to have a great life. He is a very successful Dentist, has a huge home and a beautiful wife. All this quickly goes down tubes once Dr. Feinstone catches his wife cheating with the latin pool guy. No not Ramone, just one Sienfeld alumn this film. After watching his wife finish off the pool guy Doc flips his lid and starts to take out his vengence on his patients. He tries to stay normal but is driven to insanity since everyones teeth look dirty to him now. No matter how white they are Dr. Feinstone see's them as filth and must murder to make everything ok.

This one is an instant classic for us. It's not great by traditional standards but is top notch for b horror. Luckily this isn't the only Dentist film as 2 others were created. The Dentist 2 stars and was produced by Corbin Bersen which has another 5 stars written all over it. It will be interesting to see how he gets out of the insane asylum and back into dentistry for another round. For a campy/disturbing/hilarious horror flick we fully recommend The Dentist.
The Dentist
This is a really good movie if you like to squirm. My daughter is a dental hygenist so after watching it on tv, I had to buy it for her. It's pretty gory and you'll make faces. Don't let any little kids watch it or they'll never go to the dentist again.

The only raw hide my dog will eat
My dog is a picky eater, this is the only rawhide she will eat and it does seem to help cleaning her teeth and help with breath too. Make sure that your dog chew properly, if your dog likes to swallow bigger chunks rawhides are not for your dog.
Small bones for small dogs
These are small sized (2") raw hide bone-treats that are the perfect size for dogs under 25 pounds.

They also do not make the dog sick and can be enjoyed by puppies.

I have a 7 month puppy who loves to gnaw and chew. Bully sticks and rawhide make her sick. Anything that takes her attention away from the furniture and clothing is appreciated.

My sister (who knows dogs) suggested these bones from Hartz and my puppy and I have been quite happy with them.

The bones are 2" of beef raw hide that has been knotted at either end. They are beef flavored and "carpet safe". Whatever that means! Nothing about this puppy is carpet safe.

The bones are also coated with what Hartz calls "Denta Shield" which blocks the formation of Tartar on the dog's teeth and freshens the breath.

This sounds like a good thing but in reality "Denta Shield" is a chemical, Sodium Hexametaphosphate that may or may not be good for the dog, long term. The package states that this ingredient was developed by researchers at Indiana University's School of Dentistry for dogs.

Ingredients listed on the package: Beef Hide, Maltodextrin, Gluco-Delta-Lactone, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Natural and Artificial Flavors. The product is made in China.

On the positive side, my puppy loves these bones. One is good for at least an hour of puppy bliss. As they are chewed and gnawed they sort of soften into a gooey lump that eventually disappears without sticking to or staining anything.

As for me, I love the bones because they are tolerated well and blissfully enjoyed. They are inexpensive and don't require cleaning or vacuuming after.

A 10 pack lasts for 10 days. I wish they came in bigger packs!

Note: A 3" bone is also available. This takes my puppy close to two days to consume.

Crocodile Dentist
This is a fun game. I played it when I was younger and just bought it for my 4 year old daughter. She loves it! There are no pieces and parts to lose. About the only thing your child needs to know to enjoy this game is how to take turns.
quick reflexes!
I've used this game with kids of all ages, including children with special needs. It's a good idea to demo the game first to show them what happens (and the unpredictability). Kids that have issues getting their finger "bitten" can use a pencil or popsicle stick to press down the teeth. The end result is always lots of laughs. On the adult front, it could be a good drinking game :)
Doesn't work
I bought this game for my children at Christmas and it didn't work from the second we pulled it from the package. The teeth get stuck and the mouth doesn't close most of the time. I didn't return it because it would cost more to deal with than I paid for it. Maybe I just got a bad one, who knows. My kids still play with it (they are only 3) but not the way it was meant to be played with. I would recommend just going with the full sized one, not the travel size.
ehh...
I loved this toy when I was little so I bought it for my nephew for Christmas. When I opened the box I was disappointed to find how small it was. Way smaller than the one I had when I was a kid. I got over that part...but the toy broke a week after Christmas. Don't get me wrong, it got ALOT of use in the week, but after that the jaw just clamped shut before a tooth got pushed down. He wants another one, maybe next time I will just go for a different brand....
Fun, but fragile
My oldest got this for his 5th birthday. He and his 3yo brother played with it non-stop! It was a huge hit. But now here we are just a week later and the crocodile won't keep his mouth open :( The kids still play with it, but of course not nearly as much. They just hold his mouth open and push all the teeth down, then ignore it for the most part. Part of me wants to buy another, but I'm worried about it just breaking again.

Not worth it
Says it is black but I received a white one. Cheap plastic with a bulb that puts out a lot of heat. You can really feel the heat from the bulb, so don't work too close under the light. Good magnification, but the glass is really small compared to others on the market. The clamp is really cheap and it keeps coming loose from the table while trying to re-position the arm. I didn't expect much for the price I paid, but I did expect functionality.

The Secret Lives Of Dentists
In the tradition of American Beauty, acclaimed director Alan Rudolph (Afterglow) has fashioned a profoundly moving portrait of the modern family, expertly blending drama, humor and suspense in what Rolling Stone magazine calls "a remarkable film." Dr. Dave Hurst (Campbell Scott) seems content with his wife Dana (Hope Davis), his three daughters, and a thriving dental practice shared with his beloved spouse. But when Dave glimpses Dana in the arms of another man, he begins entertaining dangerous fantasies, both sexual and violent. Spurred on by a menacing alter ego (Denis Leary), Dave is forced to confront his repressed anger and resentment or lose everything he holds dear.

BORING
Even when Campbell Scott shows "rage" it is boring. He catches his wife in the arms of another man. Does he confront her? No. He just makes her and everyone miserable. The scenes with Denis Leary are supposed to be some artsy way of Randolph showing the inner conflict and thought process of Campbell SCott). I didn't think it worked that well. He has 3 daughters, one of which listens worse than my feral cat. Those scenes could have interjected some humor to break up the continuous monotony. The whole thing climaxes when he finally confronts his wife in a round about way that she doesn't have to admit to having an affair, but they both know that she did, and she also doesn't have to tell her husband about it. Maybe this is why chicks like it. In reality, that doesn't happen.
Nicely sustained psychological piece
I thought the treatment and concept were quite original in this marriage-in-crisis set piece. The device of the re-appearing conscience of the man, in the form of the angry jazz trumpeter, is pretty effective, in my opinion. Nothing is too obvious here and that's why I liked it. And dentists? How many movies are made about dentists? Watch it.
I wonder why so few have mentioned sacrifice
A few of the reviews below are decent, but Amazon's, as usual, passes by everything tender or subtle about a film. In the case of "Lives" what most other viewers seem to have missed is the other side to Hurst's decision not to divorce his wife. He might be a coward, and it's unclear how he intends to maintain the marriage without himself changing in some way. Everyone seems to have gotten this easy part.

But what about love? Trying to understand the characters, is it really so difficult to see that Hurst puts up with his wife's (possible) duplicity OUT OF LOVING HER GREATLY? He wants to be with her and with the children so dearly that he is even ready to forgive the betrayal. The betrayal which proves that he no longer means to his beloved what she still does to him, that he has lost her. Never mind the ancient subject, never mind that adultery is common, statistics says: when love is involved, there are few pains that compare. Yet Hurst endures, sacrificing himself for her sake. Ye viewers, take a moment to appreciate it.
An overlooked piece of the marriage puzzle
This film highlights a clear picture of traditional marriage roles reversed. He plays a codependent "supermom" while she a self absorbed and absent husband. His codependency puts up with the affair hence the appearance of his humourously played alter ego. When he finally speaks up and asks for a confession, the alter ego did his job and hops on a bus, but persumably only for the time being (cavity filled) since nothing is shown that his wife will not simply just have another affair down the road nor does it seem likely that he's ready to face up to the connection between mind and body. He will forgive her and be glad to have her back but their hygiene habits (core maritial problems) remain.
Secret Lives and Quiet Desperation

This film is a gem, quiet and powerful modern masterpiece that deals with the marriage in crisis. Shifting seamlessly from humor to drama, from reality to the imagination and back, the movie is a stylish, compelling and very intelligent work of a sophisticated and remarkable filmmaker. There are not many films that explore the quiet desperation of a family's crisis (or should I say any relationship's crisis) with such honesty, poignancy, and subtlety. Alan Rudolph masterfully explores the mysterious connection between two people, the ability to deal with its possible loss, and the secret longings in all of us.

Campbell Scott is very impressive as an introvert Dr. David Hurst. He does not say much in the film but we feel all emotions he goes through - love, fear to lose it, anger, desperation, depression, and confusion. Hope Davis, Dennis Leary and three young girls all gave great performances.

Add this to your shelf
You are looking at this book because several different authors told you to. Good now get it. Most people have a knack for putting slings on people or even a needle and thread on a wound. But you can't put a hello kitty band aid on a tooth that just went septic and is poisoning your blood. After looking at these pictures you'll want to buy floss. Good, now get that too.
Where there is No Dentist
This self-help book is well written and should prove to be a wonderful resource in
case we cannot get to our dentist. It came well packaged and quickly sent.
When TSHTF, you'll be glad you bought this!
This is a very good book to have on hand if the economy collapses and things go south here in the U.S. We also own the companion book, "Where There Is No Doctor", and it's an excellent resource as well.
New version. Free download
The series of books that started with "Where there is no doctor" is wonderful and useful.

I imagine the where there is no dentist is no exception. BUT there is a 2009 edition that is much more up to date and has greatly expanded, AND the entire book is available for download FREE on the Hesperian Foundation website (slong with FREE downloads of all there other excellent series including Where there is no doctor. Many translations into obscure languages are also available) At least go to the Hesperian website before buying this older version. AMAZON you need to update your list to reflect this latest update. Good basic book about dentistry in the wilderness
A good book that no survivalist should be without. In short it further convinced me that I need to floss and care for my teeth to the maximum of my ability but it gives a lot of tips if you find yourself without modern American dentistry. A good addition to my bookshelf.

DENTIST 2
Eh. Dentist 2 takes our man-falling-off-the-edge dentist who goes on an uncontrollable murder spree to stop the spread of decay, filth, and imperfection in a world he can't control and puts him on the run and hiding out in a small town. He's trying to resist the urges that compelled him to violence in the past, but ends up having quite a hard time doing it. As the movie moves along, his self-control quickly degrades, as does the power of his character. What originally was a very frightening, very human (albeit very deranged human) character becomes a typical, cookie cutter horror movie villain by the final scene. It's disappointing that the psychological horror of the original got reduced to what boils down to your cliche'd horror film antagonist. I realised early on the psychological element of the first one was going to be absent, but was truly saddened that the character was going to be reduced to an easily-written monster. Eh!
True 90's B horror right down to the Clint Howard sighting
On the heels of the wildly enjoyable The Dentist we, Sid the Elf, followed with the sequel. This was an easy decision due to the fact that the first film was disgustingly awe-inspiring. The scenes with Bernsen weaving his dental magic were neausiating, even affecting the most hard-boiled horror fans. The Dentist 2 was great as well, but in a much different way. This one is classic B horror which absolutely would have gotten the nod from young Sid on The Movie Channel. And you know what? We wouldn't have been disapointed then either.

Bernsen escapes the mental hospital he gets locked up in at the end of the first installment. Now its off to Anytown, USA(Paradise, MO)where he changes his name but still remains the same obsessive freak. He has a new target this time, Jamie. But his toungeless ex, Brooke, is still alive and is a major contributor to the film. She hires a PI to track down Bernsen. So she not only is important to the plot, but she provides maybe the funniest scene in the flick when she's angry and yelling at the PI without a tounge. Brooke goes to Paradise to take down Bernsen. Teamed with Jamie, thay almost do just that. Jamie actually ends up shooting Bernsen like 30 times with a nail gun. The last shot in the flick is Bernsen driving with the top down and picking nails out of his head.

This one without a doubt gets Sid's seal of approval. It had everything you can want in a 90's B horror: an imposible to follow plot, a toungeless character trying to speak, a crazy blood-soaked Bernsen, plot holes, 2:43 of Clint Howard screen time, and a confusing plot. If you appreciate the awesomely terrible unintentional comedy of horror B, this one is for you.
Good as the first
Bersen again delivers in this movie. As I said for the first Dentist movie, he's a man you can trust. He then slowly goes mad and back to his killing ways. I loved the two movies and probably some of the most underrated movies in horror. Bersen does survive at the end but this was the end of the franchise. I guess people didnt want anther movie about Dentist. Who can blame them? The dentist around here are scarier.
High camp
My girlfriend and I were sitting around one day recently discussing the weird and wacky world of television. The topic of medical/surgery shows came up, mainly because we stumbled over a particularly gory operation while flipping through the channels. Why, I asked, do we see plenty of gluey open-heart surgeries and other graphic operations yet there isn't a single show dealing with the stuff that goes on at a dentist's office? My girlfriend suggested that such a program might exist, but that we just don't see it where we live. I doubt it, though. There is something so unpleasant about the dentist and the painful atrocities that unfold there on a daily basis that any program based on such nastiness would sink like a stone in the ratings. Who wants to watch someone scraping plaque off of teeth? Or root canals? Or bone cracking extractions? Or see someone open wide to reveal teeth and gums caked in gingivitis? Not me; I spent six years wearing braces, had several teeth pulled over the years, and know intimately the sound that drill makes as it punches holes in enamel. All of this brings me to "The Dentist" films.

The first film in this grotesque duology introduced us to Dr. Feinstone (Corbin Bernsen), a dentist clinging to the last vestiges of sanity. Problems with the IRS, an adulterous wife, and a tendency to extend the idea of tooth decay to society at large led Feinstone to a murderous rampage and eventual incarceration in a mental asylum. "Dentist 2: Brace Yourself" sees the titular tooth doctor escaping from the nuthouse and moving to a small town under the name Laurence Caine in order to once again ply his trade. He's at first reticent to resume his former occupation since he knows that working as a dentist led to major problems in the first place, but circumstances soon emerge that find him once again donning a white coat. The local dentist is a small town doctor who can't seem to do his job as well as Feinstone thinks he should. Next thing we know, this guy topples down the stairs and Caine takes over his practice. A host of issues soon emerge that put extreme stress on Feinstone/Caine's tenuous mental state. First, a nosy local gal named Bev Trotter (Susanne Wright) has suspicions about Caine's background and starts digging around for information. Second, Caine strikes up an association with Jaime Devers (Jillian McWhirter) that resurrects memories of his previously failed relationship. Third, ex-wife Brooke Sullivan (Linda Hoffman) hires a private detective to track down her husband.

Feinstone/Caine soon cracks under the pressure. At first he just barks at people, or gives folks a nasty look that sends chills down their spines. Devers's budding relationship with Caine seems promising, and even seems to have a calming influence on the insane dentist--at least at first. Then Feinstone notices that the guy he hired to refurbish his office has a thing for Jaime. It turns out that the two, Devers and Robbie Mauro (Lee Dawson), are childhood friends who've always played a little game in which he proposes marriage and she refuses to accept his advances. It means nothing, but Caine doesn't know this. He goes ballistic over what he perceives as a repeat of the same situation that sent him over the edge in the first place. And once Feinstone/Caine cracks up, no one is safe. Before you can say "Open wide" the dentist is back to his old tricks again. Patients strapped down in the chair shriek and moan as drills and other shiny metal tools scrape, tear, and punch holes in teeth, tongues, and gums. It's a truly nightmarish experience to watch the close up shots of Feinstone's bloody handiwork. Will anyone emerge to stop this demented doctor's gory rampages? Watch, if you dare, and see.

I quite enjoyed the first film due to the graphic carnage and Bernsen's frenetic performance. "Dentist 2: Brace Yourself" isn't as good as its predecessor. It's still disturbing to watch Feinstone operate on the unfortunate wretches caught in his web, and Bernsen's performance rates high as the actor throws all caution to the wind and goes for high camp, but the second installment drags a bit. I found the pacing of the film ponderous; it takes far too long for the story to unfold and far too long for Feinstone to crack up. The gore isn't as quite over the top in this entry, unfortunately. Remember what the dentist did to that guy from the IRS in the first film? I don't remember seeing anything as remotely disturbing here. The special effects depicting oral pandemonium aren't much better than the stuff we saw in the first film either, but perhaps that's to the good. If any of these scenes looked more realistic these two films would probably be unwatchable. Ultimately, if you enjoyed the first film you will probably want to give this one a spin. Heck, veteran character actor Clint Howard turns up in an enjoyable sequence as one of Caine's first victims. Any film with Clint Howard hamming it up deserves a watch.

Extras on the DVD are sparse: trailers for "The Dentist," this film, Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive," and cast and crew filmographies take only a few minutes to work through. I don't think we're likely to see another "Dentist" film in the near future, sorry to say, but Brian Yuzna or other horror filmmakers ought to make more. Dental torture films are massively disturbing and could very well constitute an effective and profitable subgenre within the larger horror film field.

GGGRRRROOOOSSSSEEEE!!!!!!!!!
AAAHHH!!!! This movie is even worse than the 1st. Its sooo bad, it doesnt even deserve a review. Definitley not one for squemish.

Book Explains Lots of Details Well--Except One Important One
My son is a big Dora fan, so I was confident he'd like this book. Indeed, he's requested it at bedtime several times this week.

Dora walks children through most aspects of the dental visit: the waiting room, x-ray, cleaning, and cavity-filling. The book includes very detailed, accurate, and informative drawings of the instruments a dentist uses to examine and clean teeth. (I certainly didn't know that the scary, pointy hook tool was called an explorer--"just like me!" says Dora.)

Although Dora explains what a drill sounds like and how the dentist uses it to fix cavities, it does not mention how the dentist injects an anesthetic to numb the tooth. In my opinion, glossing over this important aspect is both a big cop-out and an educational faux pas. Children, like adults, prepare better when they have all the facts beforehand and know what to expect. Because of this omission, I could not give the book five stars.
Very helpful to prepare for the first trip to the dentist
Bought this before our first trip to the dentist. My son is 2 and a half. It doesn't scare or confuse. We read it every day in preparation. At the dentist, my son was able to refer to the book during the process. I was able to refer to the book to help him "open wide" and be familiar with the setting. I am very happy with this book.
Dora Explores the Dentist's Office
Going to the dentist is an often scary experience for young people. However, it is something that all children must face and Show Me Your Smile is a book that helps take some of the tension out of the situation. This book features the popular Nick Jr. character Dora the Explorer as she visits the dentist for the first time and it is sure to be a hit with young fans of the show.

Show Me Your Smile follows Dora through each step of the dentist visit. Starting with her appointment and trip to the dentist's office, Dora relaxes in the waiting room while she waits for her name to be called. She then explores the dentist's office and invites young readers to identify some of the tools and various objects common to a dentist's office. These parts of the book serve to educate children on the dentist profession and what different things mean. The book offers nice illustrations that look exactly like those on the popular television show. It is the type of book that kid's can learn from while they watch their favorite heroine enjoying herself at a dentist's office.

One of the best qualities of this book is that it helps to eliminate the anxiety often associated with a visit to the dentist. The book makes the experience seem like nothing; like a regular part of life that can be as fun as going to the zoo. This message is, of course, a little exaggerated, but the positive attitude Dora shows is very beneficial to young children. For example, when Dora talks about having a cavity and the dentist taking care of the problem by filling the cavity, she is completely upbeat and smiles throughout. She shows no signs of fear and actually seems to consider the event a great adventure- something to enjoy and share with your friends when it's through.

Visiting the dentist is an often dreaded event, but this book helps put kid's minds at ease as they follow Dora from the waiting room through to the finish line. This book doesn't include many of Dora's closest friends, such as boots, isa, and others. It shows their pictures a few times, but the book remains focused on Dora herself as she enjoys herself at the dentist's office. It's a good book that removes some of the negative anticipation from a visit to the dentist.
Best "not scary" visit to the dentist book I've found.
I'm a dental hygienist and have two toddlers of my own. Even if your child isn't big into Dora, this is a great book. Too many "visit to the dentist" type books instill scary ideas with mention of "hurt", "shots", "scared". The dental staff helps a child through these notions if the need should arise. If they don't do so you need to find your child a new dentist. For many children, this is all they need to know going into a dental appointment. If they do need a "shot" for a cavity to be repaired, the dental team will use kid friendly/appropriate terminology to walk them through the process. Honestly, please do your children the favor of this fun read and not even uttering words like "needle", "shot", "hurt", or god forbid "pulls teeth" (I've heard parents unknowingly scare the beans out of their kids...). This book will show them how fun going to the dentist can and should be for a child.
Excellent Resource
This is a GREAT book to help prepare your child for a trip to the dentist. We even brought it to the dentist office to take some of the fear away.

very good!!!
I am very satisfied with the product, it's beautiful and good quality, and the service was very good!!
Garfield Scrub Top
I never bought from this company before and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a high quality shirt, thick but soft and very comfortable material with a lot of pockets. Washes and wears very well, I get a lot of use from mine. Does not lose shape or fade and true sizing, I would recommend this company and their clothing a million times over.
Comfy scrubs
This scrub top is well made and very comfortable. The pockets are a nice size to hold what you need. I also like that it does not need to be ironed to have a crisp look. It's also roomy enough to be able to wear another shirt underneath if you would rather not wear a lab coat.
HQ brand, a Cherokee Scrubs brand, are the very best !
I don't own this exact scrub top, but I own several HQ scrub tops, which as I understand it are a specialty group of Cherokee scrubs, which in general are also my favorites.

I find that the HQ scrub tops are a nice soft material which holds up well, doesn't wrinkle if you take it right out of the dryer, and is very comfortable. They're not too heavy and therefore hot, like some brands I could mention, which are 100% cotton. I would have thought 100% cotton would be cooler but not so. Maybe because they are so often a heavy material. The HQ tops are light but not so light they're see through.

The HQ scrubs are a poly/cotton mixture, and just right in weight, comfort and fit. I always look for them in particular when buying scrubs. (For scrub pants I stick with the traditional Cherokee scrub pants with two pockets, no cargo pockets, and lots of colors for mix/match. They also come in short or petite which I need.)

Highly recommend the Cherokee brand and especially the HQ scrub tops.
great colors
I purchased this for my daugher-in-law. It is her favorite. The color and size was perfect and it holds up under many washings.

A great book about a first visit to the dentist!
My 2 grandchildren really liked (actually, Loved) this book. I ordered other Berenstain Bears books. The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist (First Time Books(R))
Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist
I used to read these to my friend's little girl. When my twin's were due, that same little girl (by then a teenager) sent me a collection of books. My children loved them all and we read at least two Berenstain Bears stories each and every night. Well now my friend's little girl is all grown up, married and expecting her own baby... what better baby gift than a collection of Berenstain Bears books? They are a very likable family of bears and each book has a little theme and wholesome message. They are great for 2-4 year olds. Amazon let me ship the box directly to their door for FREE! Thanks Amazon!
Nightmarish EXAMPLE!
DO NOT BUY! This book could frighten any child! As a Dental Hygienist with over 25 years experience, I do not recommend this book. Brother Bear taunts Sister about her upcoming dental appointment. THEN she has a tooth pulled!
A MUCH BETTER CHOICE: "Show Me Your Smile!" A Nick Kids book about DORA the Explorer. It takes Dora through her visit to the dentist with very positive words and pictures, and EVERYONE loves Dora!
Good deal
My son likes the book. It was on a list on a dentists web site to help him cope with his first dentist visit.
I recommend this book.

Great, great book to read before taking a child to the dentist for the first time!
Grab this book - this one should be in every library! It's a great hit at our house because in places, it's quite funny! Sister wakes up one morning with a loose tooth and thus, talks funny! The words are spelled as such so my little one gets quite the chuckle out of how sister says certain "s" words! Anyway, sister spends the entire day wiggling her loose tooth until it's time to take brother to the dentist for his checkup. The dentist finds that brother has a cavity and lets sister stand over the chair and watch while he fills brother's tooth. Brother does try to torment sister quite a bit about how the dentist is going to "yank our her loose tooth," so she is somewhat timid to get into the chair. However, she does and while she is busy asking questions and looking at the dentist's "yanker," the dentist feels her tooth in a cloth, wiggles it around and out it comes! Sister had no idea it even happened! She's pretty excited and thrilled about all of it and was very glad that brother was wrong about the yanker! She gets a dime from the tooth fairy and was very excited!

This book does an excellent job in describing what happens when you go to the dentist. It's great for getting rid of those little jitters and it really is accurate. Great job and I highly recommend it!
