not soothing, not moisturizing, and smelly
I thought I'd try this based on the reviews, but for me it did not work. I use an electric 'wet' shaver. When putting this on, I could feel a tingly stinging sensation, it made my skin feel dry and sore, not moisturized. It also had a strong 'manly' odor (as my fiancé put it). Long story short, I tried it once and sent it back.

Great After Shave
I have extremely dry skin around my mouth and chin after I shave. I have tried several after shaves and lotions. The Nivea for Men After Shave has worked the best for me. It does not take a lot of this product so a little goes a long ways. I also like the light fragrance. If you have dry dry skin after shaving. I would try this After Shave.

Excellent Product
You can get a lot of use out of just one pack of four. This product is impressive in that in just two weeks after I started use, my redness and shaving discomfort were simply gone. It doesn't leave a greasy residue but your skin will feel heavier and slightly masked after application until about 16 hours later. You do get used to it, and it is not inconvenient or uncomfortable for me. The scent is quite pleasing and very masculine.

nivea works for me
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH RAZOR BUMPS. THIS STUFF HAS GREATLY REDUCED THIS PROBLEM. I LUV IT.

This one works for me
I have been shaving more or less very day for over forty years, most of them using a rotary-type electric razor such as my current one. In all that time, I have rarely used any beard prep or aftershave. That is not to say that I didn't need it: My face is quite sensitive, even to the rotary electric, and was quite blotchy and irritated after every shave; but I simply ignored this.

However, for the past few years, I have been experiencing facial eczema, mainly around the base of my nose and on my cheeks. I finally decided to deal with this a few months back, and part of my strategy was to begin taking greater care with my shaving habits. Since then, Nivea for Men After Shave Replenishing Balm, Normal to Dry Skin, has become a regular and extremely satisfactory part of that new regimen.

After only a few days of regular use, the eczema disappeared for good, as did the chronic post-shave rash. I find the slight fragrance pleasant and subdued; my wife finds it sexy, which is a plus! The instructions recommend applying "a small amount," and I have found this to be sound advice: It is quite concentrated, and a mere quarter to half a teaspoon is all I need. Much more than this, and my face feels "plastered."

Since finding this product, I have tried a few other brands for comparison, but have always returned to the Nivea. Smells great, does what it says (soothes and replenishes), and is extremely economical to use.

Smells Great!
I buy numerous shaving balms for comfort after shaving. This has got to be the best smelling balm I have ever smelled. It also soothes any razor burn etc very well. I liked this product so much I ordered the "London" cologne and bought an additional one of these for my Dad. I can't see ever not having a bottle of this stuff on the shelf -love it!

Good and cheap
Effective against razor burn and leaves me feeling good. Nice clean scent that lasts but doesn't linger too long. Not overpowering at all, this and bay rum are my favorites.

Great cover up if you intend never to shower...
What I should have expected for "after shave" that costs less than $10. It's sweet-smelling stench permeates everything around and is a hassle to get rid of. Personally, and of course, this is personal perspective, I think this stuff smells cheap, and after using it just once, I threw it away. Hope I'm not offending anyone's sensibilities, but I do want to warn potential users: don't put this stuff on until you smell it - you may be very sorry.

Has an Olde Timey "Floyd's Barber Shoppe" scent. For people old enough to remember barber shops this can be a welcomed addition to your after shave rotation

Not for sensitive noses!
This stuff is like the gift that keeps on giving. The smell is sooooo strong and it does not subside for hours; in fact it seems to get stronger. This might be a good thing if you like the scent, unfortunately I cannot stand it. Its like a full frontal attack on my nostrils. To be fair, my husband loves this stuff (for this I give it one star). After reading the other reviews about how it makes you feel like a man, now I understand why. But all these guys should take up boxing or something; there has to be a better way. I actually got into a fight with my husband about him refusing to stop using this product. Bottom line, if you want to smell very strongly of old man, go for it. Otherwise, for the love of God, please choose something else.

The best
I have been wearing Tabac since 1967 and have received many others as gifts but none are as fresh and pleasant as this. It is also not overpowering. People often mention how nice it smells and ask me what it is.

The aftershave lotion has a wonderful aroma and does a great job of both soothing and adding a bit of refreshment to a your freshly shaven face. The shaving soap lathers up well, especially if you use very hot water, and does a good job of preparing the face for shaving. And the price is right.

Tabac quantity 100ml was great value
Tabac is not a common brand nowadays when you have the Tommy and the Polo brands taking over everyone's life. Tabac is difficult to find in dept stores or shopping malls. So when I saw it at Amazon, I was very delighted. I ordered two bottles (the aftershave and the Eau de Toilette). I love the Tabac fragrance. Its original, simple, refreshing with a gentle and spicy feeling. Great to put on after a shower and in the evenings. I had no idea that 10 oz. was 100ml. The bottle is huge in the sense a very large quantity for the price (only $20). I checked the price at specialty perfume retailers and it was over $95! Even if you use it everyday (which I do) one 100ml bottle should last more than a year. Buy it.

Calming
I bought this to help with razor burn following BBS shaving. I have some difficult areas and to get the close shave I want, I get some razor burn. This stuff helps quite a bit. It burns less than other aftershaves upon initial application and quickly soothes the problem areas. The scent is not my favorite, but that's not the most important aspect to me and it is acceptable. I will try other products, but I'll be buying this stuff again.

A very pleasant product
I now have a difficulty in finding that product in France. I think that Gillette has changed products and is going to abandon the present one. I will regret it a lot because it is the best After Shave that I have tested until now. It is fresh and good-smelling and of course much efficent.

Cool and Refreshing
Unlike other gel aftershaves, Gillette Series dries to a nice clean finish without a greasy residue. But it doesn't dry out your skin either and is very refreshing. It doesn't burn or irritate your face like most liquid after shaves, but provides a long lasting coolness, and also soothes any razor burn. And you can also use it between shaves to tone up your skin. I think it's a very good product!

I've been using this gel for over 20 years & it has enabled my skin to remain smooth & wrinkle free even though I am now 56 years old. I would never use any other type of aftershave.

An Aftershave Gel... cool
I love it. Gone are the days of astringent after shaves which burn and come in very strong overpowering scents. This gel has a subtle clean smell, and doesn't make you want to scream after a close shave. I've been very happy with this product as an after shave since it first came unto the market and have been using it ever since.

Excellent After Shave Balm
I bought this aftershave balm after doing a bit of research, and I am very pleased. This balm seems to do a very good job of keeping the skin on my face moisturized for a longer period of time than most aftershave balms that I have used. This aftershave balm is relatively thick (compared to some of the others I have used like Nivea, Adidas, Old Spice, and some other miscellaneous P&G products). The other balms that I have used were good, but I think this Proraso is a cut above the rest. You definitely pay for that premium, but if you don't want your skin to start showing signs of flaky dryness after 4-6 hours, this Proraso balm is your best bet.

As with any Proraso product, I feel like I use less of it per "use" than comparable products. 100ml of this balm is probably more like 133ml of another brand's aftershave balm.

The smell is very calm and soothing. This won't overpower a cologne (which I think is nice), but then again, I rarely wear cologne. I will probably stick with this for now because it is my favorite aftershave balm to date.

Don't use anything else
Here was my experience with this stuff. I shaved with Proraso shave soap and I got an extremely rich lather. I also, shaved with a top of the line electric razor from panasonic. But, it got too close to my face and started ripping off skin, no irritations though, Proraso is incredible.

Normally with alcohol after shave, my skin is hurting from the string and irritated for days. It starts getting irritated after day one. But, I put some of this Proraso Liquid Cream after shave on and it's magic. It minimized my razor bumps and irritations and my face felt incredibly smooth and comfortable. This stuff is magic in the fact that it soothes your face and keeps it from getting irritated.

Why? Because it is alcohol free! It contains Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, and other natural elements for those with a sensitive face that gets easily irritated.

simply a good purchase3
Of all my purchases of shaving products through Amazon.com, the Proraso after shave balm was one of the best. I have very sensitive skin and use a Mekur adjustable razor (futur) so I get a very close shave and need this product to clear the redness and razor burn. It really works well and I would recommend it for anyone but especially for those with sensitive skin. It tightens your skin and makes it look healthy. The product has no alcohol.

Nice product
I have recently been trying out several shaving products and am impressed with many of the Proraso products I have purchased so far. This after shave feels good on the face and smells nice. It is soothing and moisturizes well.

Good for sensitive skin
Good quality after shave for those with sensitive skin. It is not greasy and it's absorbed quickly. It soothes and I like the nice clean scent as opposed to the cheap macho scents you get with cheaper after shaves.

Sure it's expensive, but it works.

Old Faithful
I have used Royall Lyme off and on for many a year. It is excellent now, and it was excellent waaaaaaay back then. However, the manufacturer has shifted production from Bermuda to the mainland, and has altered the label from "native limes" to "nature limes." That is really kind of duplicitous. I don't care all that much if Royall Lyme is made in Bermuda or the USA so long as its quality is intact, but don't try to lead people into fooling themselves to believe that this product is truly the same in every respect as it had been. Where are you going to move production facilities to next: China? There is plenty of precedence for that kind of thing. The fact that Royall Lyme actually came from Bermuda added more dimension to it, both psychologically and emotionally.

Surprised!
Given the overwhelmingly postive reviews for this product, I was very surprised when I opened the bottle and smelled the scent. It was, well... not very pleasant might be a nice way of saying it. When I put a bit on and had my wife and kids smell it (thinking that perhaps it was my uneducated sniffer) they confirmed that it was not a pleasant smell at all... it was almost as if the product had gone bad, if indeed aftershave can go bad. Setting aside the aroma which to my taste was not at all appealing, the bottle was fantastic and the clever sealed paper packaging was great! I have tried a few other bay rums (my wife is pushing me to get a scent) and all have been pretty pleasant but this particular product did not come close, unless the bottle is more important to you than the scent inside, I would probably try another brand or perhaps try the company's sampler set which provides the buyer with more options!

Best Smelling Aftershave
I love this stuff and would recommend it to anyone. It smells very sweet, but maintains a manliness. I recommend this for spring and summer. Maybe go with Royall Spyce for the fall.

Smells great!
What a steal. This was about $10 cheaper than in the department store. It smells wonderful and is a good sized bottle.

What You expected
The aftershave has a good shave but the scent quickly dissipates away, so if you're looking for a lingering scent from your aftershave this is not the stuff for you. Feels good and smells good after you shave but the scent doesn't last.

Amazing fragrance, love it
I was never into colognes and perfumes.I smelled my girlfriend's davidoff cool water for women and was really impressed with the smell.
I made up my mind to get the mens cool water and started looking online for best prices. Amazon had the best price plus free shipping made it simply irresistable!
I got the 4.2 oz and received it by mail in less than 7 days. Must say I love the product. I now wear it every day!

Smells great, not a bad deal.
The bottle lasts a decent amount of time and the spray lasts almost half a day, so not bad at all. I only give it 4 stars however because of the price. You can find other better smelling sporty fresh colognes on here for less than half the price for the same amount, Adidas Blue is a great example. I'm over all happy with this bottle but I will buying a much cheaper in price, better smelling and longer lasting cologne next time.

Cool Water
This is a great perfume and a real classic at that...I ve just got the 4.2 one from amazon.com and it cost me just 25 smackers...imagine that....Next thing I did was that i went to the local mall here in Lincolnwood IL and guess what? same product was no less than 65 dollars...that s a saving of 40 dollars people...
Anyway I really love this fragrance, it s manly distinctive and bold, but beware prospective buyers it is not that powerfull I usually get like 2.5-3 hours on that but then again this may be differnt for everyone, because it s influenced by your personal PH value...so there...

Good product!
Although pricey, it's a good product for the man allergic to scents or for the woman who doesn't care for the odor of men's cologne on her guy. A good skin conditioner.

Good product but expensive
I don't want to sound so girly here, but I do have a sensitive skin. So whenever I shave, I ended up bleeding all over and it takes time for my face to heal. Darn. I've used this product for about a year now, and definitely has helped my skin calm down and heal better. Maybe it's all in my head, but I religiously use this balm after I shave to protect and heal my skin. Very good product, like it a lot cuz no scent and feels light. But does it have to be so expensive?

Best Shaving
Art of shaving makes the best shaving products. I have been using there products for over 3 years now, and am sure that I will never switch to anything else.

Great shaving product
This give an excellent finish to a shave. I strongly suggest using the shaving oil as well. Apply hot water to dilate your pores, then apply the oil, then shaving cream, shave, and finally the after shave balm. The oil and balm make for an amazing shaving experience. Your face feels incredibly smooth afterward. I don't use it every day because it is a little more time consuming that just applying the shaving cream alone, but I do use the products above most of the time because of the great feel after.
