Installation way WAY easier than I expected. The wireless connection is seamless. Slightly slower than a wired ethernet connection, but hardly noticeable.

Good signal, easy to use
I bought this to replace a PC card wireless adapter. This wireless adapter is better and never drop the line yet.

Works Perfect on Windows Vista
I got this product for a hp pavilion dv6000. (Wireless card was not detected any more). Really easy to install and it is working fine.

Poor-save your money
I installed a new N router, then the adaptor. My speed only increased from 54 mbps to 63. I also had a Linksys N adaptor. With it my speed went to 103. This was on a new Toshiba dual core laptop. All conditions were the same.

Dual USB fits the bill
As a mobile user of an iPod, iPhone and Bluetooth headset, I can never have enough power adapters at the ready. The elago dual power adapter is exactly what I needed. With it, I'm able to charge my iPod or iPhone and my BT headset at the same time. I also like the red charging, blue charged indicators built in to this adapter. I have not tried to charge the iPhone and iPod at the same time, so I can't address the claims that this adapter cannot handle two high capacity devices. I'll try it and add to my review. For now, it handles my needs and the price (about $9.00) certainly was right! I bought a couple for me, family and friends.

Does not work with 2 smart phones
I bought this to be able to charge 2 phones. An iPhone 3GS and a HTC Evo. It does not work. I tried plugging one in and before the other and the other way around, but it still did not work. This may charge 2 ipods, or a phone and an ipod, but it does not charge 2 phones. I have returned this item.

Nice, but only got a few weeks use from it... :(
This was a great product, I loved its design and even thought the light around the plug portion was a very nice design touch. Unfortunately, I only got to use it a few weeks because when I pulled the plug out of the wall, the "plug" portion cracked right along the area where it connects into the main body. Be very cautious with this product, and only grip it at the plug end... you cannot safely grip it from the main body without risking it breaking apart. While it looks artsy, it is still made of cheap plastic. I would NOT recommend this product to be used in a child's room, as when it cracked and broke off, the remaining portion in the outlet presented a very significant electrical shock hazard. I think if Elago could reinforce and/or strengthen the plug end, especially at the point where it connects with the main body, then they'd have a safe product that would be very difficult to beat by the competition.

I still have the main body portion, unsure if I'm able to procure another plug portion through some way, or if I'll have to just discard it and buy an entire new plug.

Works well, bright light
I use this to charge my iPod Touch and my wife's iPod Nano at the same time, and it does great at that. It's very small, and the plugs retract into the little black box which is nice for traveling with.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the light is too bright. If they could tone it down a bit it would be much better.

Great buy.
I replaced a 802.11g USB adapter with this one and was able to get 4-5 bars for signal strength (the 802.11g only got 1 and would drop the connection constantly). This item was simple to setup on Vista and provides great strength, solid connection, and high speeds! Highly recommended!

Great product
When I use any windows product with this antenna I'm not super impressed, however when I manually use it using Linux Ubuntu I am in awe. This product picks up WIFI 1/4 mile away in anchorages when I'm on my boat using linux. You can not beat this product as far as I know and I've done some research.

If you're not amazed by it use Linux and you too will be amazed

Will not work on Macs
Fairly easy to install (although instructions are not at all clear). Pulls in all nearby signals. Number of visible wifi sources doubles when the 9dB antenna is installed (that is, the booster antenna really DOES work).

Will absolutely not connect or stay connected to OSX. Tried it at work with help of our IT guy. Spent over 8 hours trying to get it to work under OSX. No problem with Vista or Windows; complete bust with Macs on the very same network. Will not connect or will not stay connected (signal bar in the Realtek software interface simply goes blank) for more than a few seconds to minutes. The "radio" simply shuts itself off.

A real disappointment, probably due to sloppy engineering in Taiwan (assembly) or Realtek (chip manufacturer) or a very, very poor software engineer.

Advice: do not expect it work on Macs. Do NOT purchase for a Mac.

No better than my laptops built in antenna.
I have had this antenna for several months now, and tested it in multiple different locations to ensure I was giving it a fair chance to perform. I compared it against the internal antenna in my Dell Latitude D630. Everywhere I tested it, the Alfa would "find" more networks, and in some cases would show ones that the internal antenna had found at better strength. The problem was that it would not be able to connect to any of the networks that the internal antenna couldn't. In every case, trying to connect would return an error message that it was "unable to connect". In every case I always tested using unsecured networks, so security was not the issue. Whether the issue is with Signal-to-noise ratio, or something else, I don't know. All I can say for sure is that the performance of this wifi antenna is no better than the internal antenna in my laptop. This was the same with either the long or short antenna attached to the unit.

Works out-of-box with Win7 and Linux (ArchLinux)
I seldom encounter a networking peripheral, particularly wifi, that works out of the box in both Windows and Linux. This adapter was immediately recognized by both operating systems and the correct drivers/modules were pulled in without any intervention on my part.

The performance increase is marked. I'm 200 feet from my wifi router with six intervening walls, one of which is an exterior wall with aluminum siding. My laptop's built-in wifi adapter, which normally works well, struggled to hold the signal. This Alfa USB adapter gives me a huge increase in both ease and reliability of connection. Money very well spent.

BTW, I previous tried a Linksys WUSB4G USB adapter, which has a three-inch antenna. Not only was it difficult to configure with Linux, but it didn't provide any improvement in reception.

This is the one for penetration testing
The AWUS036H works out of the box with BackTrack 4 and if that means anything to you I need not say anything more.

Great performance to price ratio
Charged my smart phone twice off the battery. Just be careful to unplug whatever you're charging once the battery is full because I'm pretty sure your device keeps running off the rechargeable battery until the battery is dead or you unplug your device. Overall though, for such a cheap (in price), I was EXTREMELY pleased with the performance and feel of the product.

I LOVE this thing!
Since my iPhone got a virus and stopped being recognized by computers, this has been the only way I have been able to re-charge my phone. Battery lasts long enough, has 2 ports for charging my Bluetooth as well, and the battery indicator helps with knowing when the battery is getting low.

Extremely Useful - many uses you wouldn't even think of at first
This is one of the most useful things I have bought in years. It makes my life both at home and while traveling incredible more simple. This is how:

1. It serves its main purpose as a mobile charging unit. It's inexpensive so it won't charge an iPod 20 times before dying, but it does pretty well, I get about a charge and a half for a 32GB iPod touch from it on full. Great for car trips, plane flights, train rides, being at work/school all day, whatever.
2. No more fiddling around with multiple AC adapters. As long as you have a USB cable that plugs into the power of the electronic, then you can use this. It has 2 USB ports and yes, you can charge two things simultaneously. I do this regularly with my iPod and phone. Great space saver when traveling or on the power cord at home.
3. You can charge your iPod/phone/whatever WHILE the battery is charging and plugged into the wall. Obviously, charging it this way takes a little longer. As you may have figured out by reading this, it is not only a mobile battery, but a AC adapter as well!

I love the way this little, inexpensive gadget so neatly ties together so many different features - mobile battery, universal AC adapter, and wall-charger. In fact, thinking about it, I ought to buy like three or four of these now to stock up for Christmas, just about anyone can make use of this these days.
