Had to Buy Another Brand Adapter
Unfortunately, this adapter lasted about 3 weeks before falling apart. The plastic around the electronics separates easily and makes it prone to being damaged. Otherwise, it did provide a decent stronger signal onto my laptop here at home.
Just purchased another make and hope that it will last longer.
Does not work with OS X 10.6.4
I downloaded latest driver it shows the local networks fine, but bombs when I try and connect to the network. Almost but . . . fail.
Tremendous Value with Easy Set-up!
Worked straight out of the box with Ubuntu 10.04 and the current version of openSUSE. And picks up more networks from a greater distance than any I have come across!
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will buy another one in a heartbeat when I need one!!!!
The RTL8187 driver does not work well with Win XP
I bought this product because quite a few people give it a high rate. However, the product is not working well with my Windows XP desktop.
The biggest issue is that the RTL 8187 driver just can not obtain IP address on my Windows XP Sp2 box, although it works well on my Windows 7 desktop.
The driver coming in the CD may not work well. You probably like to install an older version, Please check it here. [...]
It seems that this one can support WPA mode better.
However, I still have the "Obtain IP" issue. I have to manually set the IP and gateway. After that, please restart the machine. By doing this, this USB adapter starts to work.
It is a long and miserable way. But, finally, I make it work.
Good antenna, but fragile
I bought this in order to steal wifi from a library here on campus. It worked great for about 2 weeks. Then it stopped getting any connection. I found that if I applied some force and bent it into a certain shape, I could get reception again. After a while this stopped working too, so I popped it open and took a look inside. It turns out the solder connecting the antenna to the device had broken. My bending solution was simply bringing the contacts back together. I fixed it by connecting the two with aluminum foil tape. It works as well as ever now.
This is a good product when it's working, but (in my case) it breaks easily. If you're prepared to fix it, you can have yourself a very high-quality antenna for only $13.

good upgrade for our series 2 tivo
debated on getting an N adapter, but with other g devices on our network, the extra cost wasn't worth it at this time. very easy to install and was fairly easy to set up on our hidden wireless network with WAP2 security. only problem was a typo on my part and i didn't shut down the system before swapping the new adapter in. works great and picked up a little better reception.
TiVo continues excellent quality
I have had TiVo for a number of years now. Will not change to cable company DVR as it does not have features that TiVo has nor is the cost as competitive. Our TiVo just gave out after nearly 6 years of service. We purchased the Premiere and thus needed a new Network Adapter. This one was a cinch to install. No problems - smooth transition. Have used this for 4 weeks now and it has been excellent. Never any disruption of service.
Does a decent job, one minor flaw
I have 2 Tivo's at home and a Mac running Tivo to Go software and I am constantly moving shows back and fourth between tivos and the computer. I once had this adapter on both TiVo boxes and the transfer rate was decent. I could start a transfer and within a minute start to watch the show being transferred without having any "pauses".
What I didn't like about this was the design. The foldup antenna piece I think should be more solid or "lock" in the up position. I positioned this behind my TV and if a cable hit it, etc the antenna piece woudl fall down and the transfer rate woudl slow considerably.
As for installing it, couldn't be easier. Plug it into the tivo, go to your network settings and enter your network information. I had it up and running in less then 5 minutes per tivo and have been running the adapters since 2/2009 so it's been about a year and a half with no issues.
I would recommend this.
Great Gadget
I received the TIVO adapter very quickly. I believe it was within three or four days. I took it out and plugged it in. It immediately found my home network and I was ready to update my TIVO programming. It was that easy. My router is on the other side of the house on a different floor but it still picked it up. Works beautifully.
Really bad
Doesn't work even though we have a N router. Wish I'd tried the cheaper off brand.

Worked when DLINK DWA160 didn't!
5 stars to Cisco-Lynksys WUSB600N!!!!!
Been having a huge problem with Dlink DWA 160 HW Ver B1 FW ver 2.00 adapter dropping wireless connection all the time (every 5 or 10 minutes), large downloads fail, web pages stop loading, etc. Using DLINK 655 wireless router. "Received Deauthentication Token", "wireless system with MAC address ... associated, wireless system with MAC address ... linked" entries endlessly in wireless router log. As an IT professional, decided to figure out and fix the problem. On the phone with tech support for hours and hours, no changes. Days on the web researching, lots of people with the same problem, but no fix. Tired of BS from vendors saying its "interference" or some other externel problem. Starting to look like a problem with the 802.11n specification.
Had to buy a new wireless adapter for daughter's computer, decided to try the Cisco-Lynksys WUSB600N, and following suggestions from others, inserted the adapter first, then manually selected the driver location onthe CD. Up and running in less than 2 minutes. PROBLEM WITH DROPPING SIGNAL COMPLETELY CURED. Not a single error in wireless router log for 2 days now, not a single dropped connection, downloaded 3GB file with absolutely no problem at all.
Better than expected
Purchased this to speed up my wireless network reception. I get free wireless from my condo community. Reception has been spotty at best. I installed the Ultra range plus, rebooted my computer and it works great. thought it was a bit costly but since I get free internet service, what can I say. Purchased it at Sam's Club for $59.
Works fine as a USB network card
The device works fine, got here quickly and installed easy ... But I just wasn't able to get any more range from it than from my normal laptop wireless or my iPhone :(
A product that did not fit my needs
This is a good product that did not fit the need for additional wireless coverage. Returned product
Completely disappointed
When I originally installed this, I put it on a hacked version of windows 7 32bit (shhhhhh) and it installed just fine, but my mother was constantly calling me while I was at work stating that she can't get on the internet. I blamed her as the cause as she was probably doing something wrong or touching things she shouldn't. Months later I purchased a legit copy of windows 7 (64 bit)and installed it (see happy ending) expecting that maybe now it will work. Thing were looking promising but BEHOLD! the same issues. I downloaded the latest drivers and nothing. After a few min it disconnects again.
*mind you I work as desktop/IT support for a banking firm. This isn't a major thing for me, or anyone for that matter, to figure out*
All in all this is a complete upset. Here I am yelling at my own mother when it was the adapter that was the issue.
I did not have ANY issues with the cheap-o belkin USB adapter I purchased a while back. And if it weren't for my compulsion to buy nice things and the fact I accidentally snapped the Belkin adapter by dropping it and stepping on it, I would have gone back to the Belkin adapter. This was a waist of money. Also mind you that I am also not running shady equipment either. I was shocked to see this kind of performance from a product with CISCOs name slapped on it.

6 month lifespan, not for heavy usage
I've had this exactly 6 months and in the last week it's started to drop sound out of one ear. Unfortunately, that's the same ear that the mic is attached to. Today, the person on the other side of the phone told me that my voice is dropping out intermittently as well. The friend who recommended this product to me, and who has had hers about the same amount of time, tells me that hers is doing the same things to her. We're fairly heavy users. We're in sales, use these for Skype, and we're both on the phone a lot.
It's unfortunate because, right up until this happened, I absolutely loved this headset; and, I have recommended it to others often because in nearly every other respect it's very good. I will echo what another poster said: it can get tiring to wear them after a long period of time, because the width isn't adjustable. But I've spent good portions of my day on the phone, day after day, and it's tiring but not painful. My only other criticism--that's really a compliment--is that the sound proofing is good enough that regularly miss people knocking on my door.
It's a shame, really. Not worth the price for only 6 months usage.
Not that impressed...
I really researched wireless headphones before purchasing this set and am beginning to regret my decision. If you use Skype for calls then it is no problem because you can set your audio input/output in Skype, and it works great. But for work we use an application called Mumble and I also listen to music through my laptop speakers. To switch from Mumble to listening to music requires that I change the sound settings every time. Only have had this for a morning and it is very annoying. Also the range does not seem very far, the kitchen is right outside my office and I can not get to the fridge without it cutting out (this is a distance of 24 feet).
Left speaker seems a bit flakey
I have purchased a couple of these over time -
On one unit the left ear speaker is a bit flakey - if I press where the metal band goes into the foam headloop then I can get it to work. The other unit shows this problem once in a while. I haven't yet taken the problem unit apart to see what the interconnect issue might be. This is mostly a note for the manufacturer to take note on the quality issue at this spot. Otherwise I am pretty satisfied - though I find the roaming range for the wireless is a bit tight - only about 20 feet in my house.
I would recommend this
Nothing comes perfect because everyone can have different requirements. This product is good and easy to use and have good range. But you can keep it to your ears for a longer time because as it hurts. Ear buds are too small and not too comfortable. Rest all is good.
I other thing i would love to have is a mini usb than a big one.
I like my headset
My headset is great it's an excellent unit. My problem is the plug on the end of the charger got a crack in it and as a result I have to position the plug in such a way so it will charge good. I need a new plug only and I can't find just the plug itself, not going to buy another headset to remedy this. My reccommendation to Logitech would be to make the plug either in USB format or make a jack that is like a phone port that snaps into place or locks into place, the plug doesen't do that. Other than that I love my headset.

OK if there is a good signal
This network adapter works, but if one has signal fluctuations or a low level, be prepared for frequent dropouts. I'll be trying a wireless repeater next to boost the signal level.
Wireless Internet on the Desktop!!!
Plugged it in, had Windows Vista install the drivers automatically, found my SSID, entered the relevant details to access the Home network and voila! wireless internet on the desktop! My router is in another room under a bed and the signal has to go through a couple of walls but this little beast has no problem with that. Fantastic little thing!
Works great
I bought this because our wireless card in our laptop works when it wants to. This was quick and easy to use. I even went outside and it worked great.
Good Product for Good Price
Have this link and Verizon hot spot. Simpler to install than the hot spot. Picks up a lot of WiFi. No problems to date. Almost weightless, easy to transport in your pocket. Works well.
Medialink - Wireless G USB Adapter - 802.11g - 54Mbps
First off, if your looking for the Blazing speed to stream HD video and Play online games with this, your looking at the wrong product. This Adapter is awesome, hands down, if all you want is a connection to the internet. I bought this so my Audio computer to could connect to the internet periodically whenever I needed to. Im getting around 18mbs/s tops, about 20 ft from my Linksys wireless G router, which also happens to be missing one of its antennas. It connects me to the internet, and i load pages pretty fast. I haven't tried downloading anything just yet as i just recieved it today, nor have i tried any videos or youtube, but I am typing this review using this very adapter to connect me to the internet. Im running windows xp pro sp3 and the drivers installed flawlessly, and it was up and running within 30 seconds. All in all, this prouduct is awesome for exactly what its advertised. It saved me a pci slot and gave me the internet. Buy it!

Junk
This refurbished Cisco-Linksys adapter is a piece of junk. The signal reception is beyond poor (2 bars or less when other machines near it have 5 full bars). It dropped connection every few minutes. I use VPN to connect to work and it would drop every 5 minutes. I returned it in less than a week.
Easy to set up, works great
Even though the unit only sees my roommate's wireless as "good," I'm getting far-better-than-good throughput with this. It was easy to set up, and works reliably and without hassle.
didn't really need this....oh well
my husband swore up and down that we needed this so we bought it together with the cisco valet and the cisco valet is really all we needed. but it all worked so it's all good.
Excellent and Cheap - Nice Refurb
I'm all about B-stock electronics, and this purchase was no different. I bought my WUSB600N from Electronic Direct via Amazon and it arrived as a version 2 model (Cisco-Linksys WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter) no less. It was shipped quickly with prime and arrived just as stated. I plugged it in and XP found it right away. I took the advice of other reviewers and let XP install the drivers from the provided CD. In less than 2 min I was up and running. Found my wireless network, entered the pass key and viola, I was connected to my Linksys G router. For $20 - $25 how can you go wrong. Great purchase and I can go to a N router now, whenever I feel like it.
Works great for XP and newer OS
I have used this on XP, Vista and 7 and have had zero problems. Just don't use the supplied software, let windows manage the connection and use the drivers supplied, or download the program and just use the drivers.

Work perfectly!
This Medialink Wireless N Adapter easy to install and works perfectly! I'm running OS XP 32-Bit with a 2Wire router. I purchased this adapter about 1 month ago.
Thang D
One-Step Wireless
I bought this for my Windows 7 desktop, plugged it into the USB port and within seconds I was connected to the internet. No menus or installation to deal with, a strong signal without any problems. I am truly impressed with the ease and usefulness of this affordable USB wireless adapter.
How to get more than 65 Mbps
I bought this product for a Windows XP box about 1 month ago. Installation was very easy.
Initially all I was getting was only getting 65 Mbps despite a strong signal. I contacted support and the first reply wasn't too helpful but then another support agent send me this:
Some 802.11n routers give you the option to adjust the bandwidth of the 2.4Ghz channel
you are broadcasting. Make sure your width is set to 40MHz or "Auto". If it is set to 20MHz it will limit your speed to 65Mbps.
If you are only connecting to your router using 802.11n devices, be sure to set your router to "N only" so you are not compromising your speed for 802.11b or 802.11g devices.
Turns out my Dlink Dir-655 was set to the 20MHz. After switching "Transmission Rate" to "Auto 20/40 MHz" I can consistently get link speeds of 135 Mbps and often 150 Mbps.
My router is about 35 feet away going through 1 wall.
Apparently the medialink website will be updated with a better support page. This information was not easily available in early August.
Other notes... Not sure what happened but my wireless adapter was not working.
Typing 'ipconfig' on my computer printed nothing. After re-installing the drivers the system was back to normal. I am not sure what cuased the drivers to get messed up...
I found out the usb adapter doesn't turn on until you logon to the system directly. A minor annoyance if I want to remote desktop to that box after powering it on. I don't think a PCI adapter will have this issue.
Overall, a great product for the price.
Excellent Product and performanc
I had purchased similar USB wireless adapter product from other vendor before. It got disconnected very often and I could not find out whether it is my wireless router or USB adapter itself. After reading feedback from Amazon, I decided to purchase from Medialink and install on my desktop, which is in different floor from my wireless router.
The package included a separate dock so I can place USB adapter on dock instead of connecting to desktop directly. After using for 2 months, I found it is running very stable compared to my previous experience on other vendor product.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of its menu user interface. It's really difficult to understand before reading online menu.
In general, I would strongly recommend this product for people who need to connect their desktop via wireless adapter.
Beware of potential installation issues with (free) Zonealarm
Tried to install this on a Windows 7 PC using the procedures and CD provided. No luck, the USB device was obviously detected by Windows and its little LED flashed blue, but from a networking point of view it said "disconnected". Further troubleshooting via Windows' 7 built in network trouble shooter led to an "unspecified problem with the driver".
I tried updating the driver, uninstalling and then leaving it to Windows to find its own driver, but nothing worked.
Then via a web search I read about a possible interaction with ZoneAlarm (free) that prevented correct driver installation. And indeed, this was the case. You have to uninstall your LAN card driver, uninstall ZA (just disabling won't work), restart Windows, let Windows install its driver of choice, and *then* the LAN card works just fine!
At this point you can either re-install ZA or just let the Windows firewall do its thing. Hope this saves some others the couple of hours I wasted on what should have been a trivial procedure.
Oh yes, I get full signal strength with the USB device plugged in horizontally on the back of the PC with the Linksys G router in a different room. Downlink about 5 Mbit/s, uplink about 2Mbit/s (the latter limited by my cable modem).

Besides its compact size little other benefit
Nice packaging but reception was spotty and since it does not support the 5Ghz range compared to others similar in size, I feel it is not worth its value. I ended up returning it.
Great product
Great product , easy set up and best of all a low price from a trusted seller with no hidden fees , fast shipping !
Will buy from Amazon.com in the future !
Works fine with Windows, Linux install a little complex.
First, it's really small which makes it quite convenient if you're on a laptop and don't want a huge dongle sticking out. I first thought there was no Linux support, but D-link does provide drivers with a somewhat convoluted way of installing it ([...]). It seems that you have to build the code and install it in the kernel. I haven't gone as far as that yet. But eh, who can complain when they have Linux drivers available =) My boyfriend has Windows and he could install it through the search drivers online options. It gets signal just fine.
Very Good Wireless N Adapter
This wireless N adapter is small enough not to get in your way when using your computer. It fits snug in the USB port.Has a blinking Blue light, that may bother some people but I don't mind it.Only problem is it heats up and gets really hot, especially the part the goes in the USB. Gets good speed and fast installation.
Fantastic value and the smallest Wifi USB I've seen
I purchased this because my Belkin Wireless-G USB adapter was sticking out about 4 inches from my laptop and suffered from frequent clumsy-hand bumps and disconnects. I saw this on sale and it seemed perfect. I got it in one day with my free Prime 2-day shipping (thanks for being on the ball Amazon!). This thing is fantastic. It's as small as you think it is, and it sticks out less than an inch from my laptop. The blue activity light on it is a little bright, but I got used to it quickly. Signal quality is outstanding; much better than my laptop's previous internal wifi, and it sees 26(!) networks in my vicinity (my Belkin adapter saw 12). This has been worth every penny so far.

Good Product
This USB Wireless adapter works well. The only thing I would do different is make sure next time is it is shipped UPS. It was shipped USPS and they are very difficult to track!!! This one slipped by me.
Great little device
I don't like to type much, but I love this receiver. I never write reviews. But this is 2 rooms away from my 7 year old router, and does the job perfectly. I didn't wanna spend the extra cash, but i'm glad i did.
Simple to use; like the dock
I've had my Dlink USB N adapter for about 1.5 years with two different desktops located respectively about 40 feet and 60 feet from my Dlink N wireless router. I've compared the signal strength on my desktops with Wi-Fi cards in several laptops, and this external USB adapter has the same connectivity. Initially I plugged the adapter directly into the USB port, but it seems to heavy and large (it can cover access to a neighboring USB port, and after accidentally knocking it roughly out twice, I decided to use the dock. Good move! Not only is it safe and frees up access to the neighboring USB port, but I can place the dock about 2 feet higher than the tower on the floor and get slight better network/Internet connection.
Bad service!!
There was a problem with the product. Contacted the seller immediately. They promised to send a replacement. Six weeks later, nothing but promises. Finally canceled the order and received the refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!D-Link DWA-125 150Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter
works great!!!!
Love this product...set up easy and works much better than the older wirless usb adapter

Downgraded from the speed of my previous Wireless-G
For this PC, I'm running XP 32-bit. Didn't like the drivers, didn't like the speed. It dropped my transfer rate to an 1/8 of what I got with the Wireless-G card. Returned it.
Pairs with WD Live Plus fine
This configures easily with the WD Live Plus. I use it to stream DVD quality video over 802.11G. Most of the time, the video streams are great. Once or twice there have been times when the video stream weirds out but that may be solvable by moving the router it pairs with to 802.11N to lower interference.
WDTV Live - yes, it works
I haven't tried this with anything but my WDTV Live, but it worked right off the bat in that capacity.
Very poor connection
I bought two of these at Microcenter yesterday to use on an HP laptop (Win 7 ultimate) and a desktop (XP Pro). The router they were to communicate with is a Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N, the very one recommended on the box for the WLI-UC-GN.
I tried the XP desktop machine first. It is in the room next to the router, through one wall at a distance of <10 feet. The Hawking adapter that it was replacing was g only, but gave a consistent -50db and 54Mb/s. Several other access points in the area also had decent signal strength.
After two hours of playing around with the WLI-UC-GN in this machine and even trying it on a usb extension cable to get it closer to the router, the signal was -70 to -80db. None of the other access points in the area could be seen at all. To top it off, the utility to switch from 20Mhz to 40Mhz caused the XP machine to immediately cycle power off and back on (good thing I was not working on anything at the time). After the reboot the utility did indicate that it was in 40Mhz mode.
The Win7 laptop came next. It is normally in my office, which is 1 wall and 30 feet from the router. The internal card is g only, but from that distance had ~ -60db and a solid 54Mb/s. I turned off the internal nic and inserted the WLI-UC-GN, and Win7 took little time automatically installing a driver for it. Again I got a pathetic signal strength of ~ -80 to -85db. Since this was a laptop I played around with moving it to see what that did to signal, and only with the laptop in the same room and a few feet away from the router did I get a good signal.
The two WLI-UC-GN are boxed back up, sitting in the car for me to take back to Microcenter when I get off work. I was curious before the purchase how the tiny printed antenna in these things could possibly get a decent signal, but I was swayed by the many glowing opinions here on Amazon. Now I'm off to eBay to get two more of the great Ralink-based usb wireless-n's that I have been very satisfied with on other machines.
Preset to 65mbps
Easy to setup and connect but the factory settings limit the reciever to 66mbps!! No amount of settings wrangling could get the receiver to hit the advertised 150. Returned the it and then noticed that the installed software included a PROGRAM to set it to 150. Goofy in mind. We buy N products to get faster results and then this one is preset for a slower speed with no instructions to reach desired speeds.
