Excellent alternative
Helps eighty percent of the time even if its just a little bit and smells good too.

It works for me, but may not work for all
I have been using Rogaine for years on the front of my head and it has done a great job of maintaining what I have. I did slack off on using it a few months back and my hair started to get thin. So, I started using it again and now it is back to the way it was before. Now they say it does not work for the front of your head, however this has not been my experience. I find the foam does hold your hair pretty good as long as you do not mess with for the rest of the day. Be sure to wash you hand before and after using the product to reduce the absorption into your skin.

Now some people may notice some shedding after using the product, you will probably freak out because your loosing more hair while using a product that is suppose to grow hair. This normal, stay focused and continue to use the product. Your hair will shed and come back thicker and fuller. Also, at the first sign of hair loss you should start Rogaine, after a certain amount of time I believe Rogaine will be ineffective.

I also use other products as part of my hair loss regimen, they are - DS Labs (aka Revita) - High Performance Hair Growth Stimulating Shampoo, 180 Milliliter liquid (View amazon detail page) for shampooing my hair. For a conditioner I use Nioxin Scalp Therapy #2 - Natural Hair - Noticeably Thinning (4.2 oz.).

It works!
When I began observing faint but still noticeable hair loss on the crown of my head, I must admit I did not handle the news of seemingly imminent hair loss with the utmost grace. I scoured the internet for hours, searching for both information and images of male pattern baldness. What I found were many stories similar to my own, both men and women, suffering from hair loss and experiencing feelings of fear and distress.

Although hair loss is not life threatening, it can still be a debilitating condition since it can affect a person's confidence and how he interacts with other people so drastically. Before you consider any treatment designed to reduce hair loss or even regrow hair, I would advice that you prepare yourself for the possibility that treatments might not work and you will grow bald. And I do want to reassure everyone that there is life after baldness! And it's important not to become shy and introverted, battling feelings of insecurity and self-worth, should you become bald. You might be different, but not less, and you are still dignified and deserve the respect of everyone you encounter.

With that said-- this product does work. Bear in mind, though, that I am the ideal candidate for Rogaine-- I am in my mid-twenties, my hair loss is not overt, and I keep myself in fairly healthy shape with daily exercise. Also, several consumers here on Amazon have rated this product as 1-star and stated that they were not explicitly made aware that Rogaine is designed for the crown of the head only. Please make note of the intended use of Rogaine before purchase, which is the crown of the head.

I encourage that, along with Rogaine, you pay attention to your health. Vitamins are a plus. Keeping your blood circulation flowing in an unobstructed manner is also key-- hair loss is characteristic of poor blood circulation to the scalp. Eat right, exercise, reduce stress, and visit your dermatologist to cover all your bases. But Rogaine is not snake-oil medicine. 85% of men have reported reduced hair loss or even regrowth within four months of treatment, and 33% have reported regrowth. So this is not a waste of money.

If you think about it, an average male spends $20 a month on haircuts. A three-pack of Rogaine, which costs roughly $50, is designed to last you for three months. I actually cut my own hair. And so this treatment is very affordable.

If you have a feeling Rogaine might be the answer for you-- do not hesitate to try it. It is very affordable and easy to apply. However, please brace yourself for the possibility that it might not work for you.

Not what I expected
Foam did not last long enough after shower,had to run my hands under cold water to make it work. Didn't realize if you stop using or miss a few treatments growth will stop. If you stop all together, you'll loose what you gained.

seems to be helping

I think all to often when people have success with a product they fail to give it a good review and we only hear about something when we are not happy with it. miracle product
I have tried several products and this is the only product I have found that actually does the trick. It is worth the money and it lasts a really long time. It is a must have!

It works.
If you are even reading this, you probably have done all the single-blade-razor, wash your face after shaving stuff, like I did. I still would end up with...technically they are ingrown hairs, but you and I know they really should be called a lot of things that cannot be written on a website kids might see. I've got three different tweezers, needles, and somewhere there is a landfill that is 10% bloody tissues I am responsible for.
Well, my girlfriend bought me this for Christmas last year, and it has actually worked. I actually forgot how well it was working until I ran out a while ago and descended back into the bloodletting Dark Ages. I ordered it from here, and it was shipped quickly, no problems.
It is expensive. It does last a long time, though. Its not the kind of thing you slather on, just enough to cover.
Highly recommended.

Great stuff!
I'm in my 30s and with fine and thinning hairs. I can say my hair do look fuller every time after I use it. The best part is that it really soothes my itchy scalp and gives my scalp a big break. Feels like my head is 2 pounds lighter when I put the conditioner on my head.

Here are 2 tips from my stylist.
1th, you need to put the conditioning on the scalp and give it a good massage. The scalp massage makes huge difference.

2nd, every single adults will lose at least 50 hairs each day and it's normal. As long as the hair growth speed is about the same with the hair loss. The key is the dropping hair should be the longer but not the shorter ones. If most of the dropping hair is the shorter and thinner ones, that means the scalp is aging rapidly and it can't grow and hold the new hairs well.

Great Product
I am 66 years old and have used this product for at least five years. The best thing for me is that with Nioxin Scalp Therapy my scalp doesn't itch. I use it every day and when I miss a day I notice the difference. As far as hair thinning with age, I believe it has slowed that down, but I didn't suffer from thinning hair very much.

Less hair is coming out in the shower now, smells great, feels good
I'm a 30 yr old female with long fine hair. I had destroyed my hair through dying it and wearing hair extensions so even though I stopped all that many months ago, my hair was still suffering and I could see all these short pieces where my hair had broken off. I also noticed hair was coming out from the roots when I brushed it trying to get the tangles out. My hair has always been very easily tangled, so I'd usually end up with a clump of hair in my hand at the end of each shower where I had used my fingers along with conditioner to comb out the tangles..and I was very gentle. I was also on occasion getting clogged pores in my scalp. I figured it was from using too much conditioner or detangle spray, since they have oils in them, but I couldn't keep just ripping my hair out. Actually works to reduce razor bumps
Pros:
-Roller ball makes application easy
-Actually reduces redness, swelling, and razor bumps around bikini and underarm area after shaving/waxing (I was rather skeptical that anything would, since my skin is super sensitive and always is red and swollen, regardless if I wax or shave)

Cons:
-Does dry out skin a bit (to the extent, at least for me, that my skin starts to peel a bit). However, I much prefer a bit of peeling skin to severe redness and razor bumps, since it's less visible from a short distance.
-Expensive (lasts awhile though!)

Easy to use, overall good, leaves a little white residue (if overusing)
I used this product yesterday after epilating. I used a lot, and it left some white residue after drying. Maybe it was because I used a lot. It glides on clear, though. It was very easy to apply, and I like how the roll-on allows for easy and uniform application of the product. It did not sting upon application. So far, I have not observed significant red bumps or ingrown hairs. I can update if it proves otherwise.

Easy to Use, Not Bad Smelling, Pretty Good Stuff
I had used Tend Skin Razor Bump Solution-8 fl.oz for ingrown hairs and waxing bumps before, and the results were pretty good, but my boyfriend hates the smell of it. PFB Vanish is quite a bit smaller in size and higher in price than Tend Skin, so one would expect it to either work a whole lot better or smell a whole lot better than its competitor. Well, the Jury is still out on whether PFB is going to do a better job, as there's still time for ingrowns and bumps to develop after my last bikini wax (brazilian, actaully) - 9 days ago - but so far, so good. The texture of PFB vanish is somewhat thicker than Tend Skin, which is almost alcohol-like in consistency. PFB is much easier to use, in its roll-on packaging, but I can't tell you yet if it's going to last very long compared to Tend Skin (I used Tend Skin every day on legs and bikini and it lasted around 12 weeks.) And PFB's smell doesn't bother my boyfriend. But I would like it to smell nicer. It smells a bit hospital-ish / medicine-ish, which I suppose is fine, since it is a skin-fixing product. I just love things to smell good, though, so it would be nice if the fragrance could be made a bit more pleasant.

Finally, something that REALLY helps my ingrown hairs!

A lot of produts have elements that are harmfull,however this one has SYNTHETIC COLORS Used to make cosmetics "pretty," synthetic colors, along with synthetic hair dyes, should be avoided at all costs. They will be labeled as FD&C or D&C, followed by a color and a number.In this case D&C Yellow-11,D&C Red-17. Many synthetic colors can be carcinogenic. If a cosmetic contains them, don't use it.
But you dont have to believe me,make your own researches.

I thought the oil smelled realllly yummy. Felt oily in my hands, no surprise there! When I put it in my hair while it was wet, I didn't notice much difference but I would caution someone trying this for the first time NOT to put too much in the hair - you only need a bit.

I felt it's silky effect when my hair was DRY, which was a wonderful softness, not greasy. My hair did take a bit longer to dry. (I have shoulder length hair)

I thought the product was OK. I used the small sample size and I thought that was sufficient to see if I liked it enough before buying the big expensive size and it was. I don't think it's any worse or really better than any others, since the ingredient list has a bunch of silicone derivatives, I was disappointed with that since I thought I was getting this exotic OIL and I think there is actually very little of the oil in there. I read up on all the infomercials about it and on their official site and they didn't mention that it is mostly silicons. :::shrug:::

I have tried other things like Cowboy Magic that have similar ingredients and did the same thing for MUCH cheaper - not with that yummy scent though!!

I can see how I might like to keep a product like this around on days when my hair is feeling unruly. I don't think it improved my hair overall, I only felt the silky effects on days I used the product.

I did really like the seller though. VERY prompt shipper and even sent out a smaller sample with the one that I purchased which was an excellent bonus. Would definitely purchase other product from this seller again!!

like getting a salon treatment
VO5 total hair recoverty is a great hair conditioner. i have mediumd length curly hair and use this product about every two weeks. it strengthes and conditions my hair without weighing it dows, and leaves it soft, manageable and much easier to style. this product used to be available at the local supermarket and drugstores, but they no longer carry it and is difficult to find. i found it at amazon and ordered the pack of six (good value) and also took advantage of the free shipping. i highly recommend this product.

I love it
I use the single use verison of this product because I couldn't see spending $17 for something I only use every 6 weeks. The single treatment is less than $3 at Sally's.

I use this product one week before I relax my hair, because I really feel that it makes a difference in streghtening my hair. (I am currently using the Profectiv Perm)

After I have used this and the ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer I rinse it out and use the Two minute reconstruction treatment.

THIS is a PROTEIN Treatment.
A reconstructor, I think.

The purpose of a protein treatment is to strengthen hair. If your hair is limp, stretches to a great extent when pulled, mushy, breaking, etc... then this would helpful to you.

If your hair is dry, brittle, taut when pulled, with no give, 'breaking' then this would most likely increase your issues. Because it will make the hair dryer, even more brittle and more prone to breakage.
You'd most likely need MOISTURE--conditioners and shampoos that moisturize the hair, i.e.,
1. Nexxus Humectress,
2. Elucence MB
3. Aubrey Organics
4. Keracare Humecto, etc...

You're not supposed to use this product as you would a regular condition. And you have to know how to assess your own 'hair health' to know if your issue even warrants the treatment.
The same rules apply whether you're relaxed or natural (to varying degrees)...because 'black' hair is dry hair. The driest of all hair types, I think. Black hair thrives on moisture.
Although--I suspect that relaxed hair may be drier because of the chemicals. Anyway--this is the main reason why it breaks. This is why some ppl have the impression that 'black hair can't grow'.
It can...you just have to know how to work around the main issue.
