Super easy, portable TV
I got this tv for my daughter to use since she will be home schooled next year. I've rather enjoyed how easy it was to pull out of the box and it's ready to use. It's sitting on my night stand because I love to watch it before going to bed. The sleep timer is excellent for when I want the tv to turn off while I close my eyes...
Definitely worth the money.

toshiba 15" tv
as everyone has said, it is slow coming on and changing channels, but the only thing I find a problem is the sleep timer. It is so small on the screen, I cannot see it from my bed, I bought it for a tv in the bedroom and I always use it and set the timer. Still a good buy.

Dvd player not working
Got my tv today, tv part works fine. DVD player did not. Called Toshiba and they told me this is an 08 model, which i didnt care about, to ship it back to them and they would fix it. Since i just bought it they are emailing me free shipping labels thru fed ex. They said it would be at least a week to get it fixed and back to me. We'll see.

Great for a bedroom
I bought this tv for my daughter's 8th birthday. I was a little nervous ordering a tv by mail but I was pleasantly surprised. It came in perfect condition. The picture quality is great and the whole thing was easy to set up. Even though she did tell everyone I bought her a mini flat screen tv the size is just right for the top of a dresser. I'm overall happy and glad I ordered 2, one for my son's birthday in September.

The TV doesn't work....
I ordered this TV and installed it under the cabinet. The DVD and radio worked, but the tv would not pick up any chanels. After talking to the cable company, I sent it back due to a faulty tuner. It was replaced with a new unit. I checked it out before installing it and it worked fine..including the TV! During installation (putting in four screws) it quit working. The LED display went dark. After a few minutes, it came back on, but the TV would not work after that. I went through the trouble shooting suggestions in the manual and then again with the Coby tech support. Nothing. To send it back to Coby, I would have to pay shipping (which I had already done once) and then pay to have it shipped back to me (which the retailer had paid on the first replacement - Thanks, Ace Photo Digital!). Coby told me I would not get a new unit for 6 to 8 weeks. I am opting to send it back to the retailer again and try to find something locally. This product did not work for me!

Not all that great
This under cabinet TV has some of the features I was looking for. Like, the radio has a digital tuner with presets. However it has a lot of annoyances. Like, it takes a long time to get to ready from the time you turn it on. Also, you don't know if it is going to come up in TV, DVD, AudioVideoInput, or Radio mode. And, whenever you change mode, you have to wait again for it to come ready. Picture quality is good when you are looking straight on, but it become poor whenever you are not "straight ahead" of the video screen. This is annoying when I am cooking and wandering around the kitchen. Also, sound quality is very poor. PS - our stupid Comcast cable box (required to tune most channels in our area) remote won't control the Coby TV so we have remember to use two remotes.

Solid product
We purchased online through amazon this Coby product through Ace Digital. We read the reviews online and most were right on target. First, it was easy to install, but once under the cabinet, the product would not turn on. it worked before it was installed, but not after. We subsequently found out one of the long screws was shorting the electric to the TV. We requested a new TV from Ace Digital. They required us to pay shipping for sending back the default product. We requested a letter from Coby stating that the product was not working (we had to determine this by over the phone troubleshooting with Coby- only then they would email us stating that we should return the product). But with Coby, it would take 3 months to get a new product through warranty, so we went back to Ace and with the note from COby, we were able to obtain a shipping label from Ace digital. Our point was that we just wanted a working unit and did not want to pay to ship the defected product back. Ace was nice enough to send us a new product, although the color of the new set was not correct (our original order was white, they sent silver). We were just happy to get a working product, silver works.

Once we had a working product, it was easy to install, worked once installed. It is such a nice looking unit and overall we are extremely happy with the product and would buy it again. Small dislikes: The volume is not sensitive, it is either too loud or too soft, it takes awhile to turn on, it is a little bit hard to figure out how to switch modes (radio, CD, DVD or TV), it takes a long pause to switch modes, it takes a long pause to switch stations.

Great product for the price, has a lot of functions, minor user unfriendly technicalities. It was a pain when dealing with customer service, but over a 3 week period, got a new unit with a bit of prodding.

junk that I had to ship back twice
well, I purchased one that wouldn't turn on. The second one, turned on, but didn't have a working tuner. I called coby, who agreed that the tuner didn't work, but said that it would cost me 1. money to ship it back (for the second time) and then $15 repair fees. I said but it didn't work to begin with- he said, yes- if you read the warrenty card, that's what it says. I'm NOT going to pay $15 to fix a product that doesn't work to start with! How in appropriate for a company. The company I purchased it from was nice about returning products, but was not concerned that two times this happened. My customer service rep agreedt that there are more returns showing within his system on this product than others. I'm not going to try to return it again- i'll never buy COLBY again.

Good Value!
I bought this television for a guest room. I also purchased a tilting/swiveling wall mount and hung the TV about 5' up the wall. I can't comment on the viewing angle issue others have noted since I can adjust it to be dead straight from any viewing position. Apart from that, the set works flawlessly, is relatively lightweight, and the DVD player is easy to use. The picture quality is fair, not fantastic - but more than acceptable for this price point.

This TV has proven to be ideal for my needs and I'm satisfied with what I got for what I paid.

Toshiba tv
The Toshiba 26 inch tv was easy to set up and is a nice looking tv. The picture is good if you are directly in front of the tv. However, if you are off to the sides, or below the direct line of sight the picture quality is diminished noticeably. I would not recommend it for viewing in a room where you have multiple viewers.

The two day shipping was free but it took a week. The tv was light and easy to carry. Set up only took 5 minutes and it is a great picture and nice looking in my bedroom.

Don't buy this one!
Purchased this television, only to discover that like a lap top computer if the angle of the television is above you, the screen image is not visible....In addition, the automatic dimming function gradually turns the picture darker and darker, until nothing is visible at all and the screen looks like an old fashioned negative. There is no way to de-activate the automatic dimming function. Plus if you are space challenged, the DVD is a side load item. I was extremely disappointed and returned it. Moral of the story, don't rely on a single review. Google the item in question and do some deeper research.....

Pleased with JVC TV/DVD combo
I have just recently begun using this tv even though I have had it almost a month so my comments will not be extensive regarding all aspects of the set. At this point, I am very pleased with the cabinet design, the ease of set-up which took only a couple of minutes, and the picture quality which exceeds that of another set which I purchased earlier this year from Toshiba. I have a limited cable line-up in my house but this tv has allowed me to access other cable channels which I do not receive on either of the two other sets in the house. JVC's picture is much sharper and the search time from one channel to the next is less than on the Toshiba. Since this is a 19 inch set, and the speakers are relatively small, I would say that the sound quality is average for sets of this size. DVDs play effortlessly and the sets menus are easy to navigate. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

A great TV
This TV has been just great. Looks good and the grandchildren like the DVD. Also was a good price.

STOP, DO NOT BUY THIS PLAYER
I purchased this item before we took a ten hour drive so my five year old and my mother would have something to do on the drive. Three days after I installed it the monitor stopped working. We could hear the DVD but the screen was blank. Just so happened it was three days before our vacation.
The people in the service department offered to let me uninstall it and box it back up and mail it back to them and they would send me another one. They were nice but that didn't change my situation.
I didn't want to deal with it happening again so I just ordered another brand, ($400.00) and will likely pile this in the (expensive leason heap).
If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS ! ! ! !

Worst in car DVD Player
The drive died twice within 20 days. Best Buy installation guy told me that this brand is probably one of the worst in the industry. Returned it to Amazon for refund.

Item does not work
Installed the item and the screen lights up, but the dvd player does not work. I spent money to have it put in and put holes in my car and it doesn't work. One is being shipped to replace it, after much debate w/ amazon, so I can keep the old one until the new one comes in 2-4 weeks. I would not recommend purchasing this unit.

Great product
I purchased the product and it was easy to install and looks great. Sound is perfect and my son loves this. Best purchase of the year hope it lasts. It covered a previous spot where another dvd player was, perfect size to cover headliner damage.

Turned out to be a Lemon
I am not sure if it is just the unit I got or what, but I got a lemon. After spending almost as much as the unit itself on installation, it turned out to be a dead dvd player. The first dvd played for a minute, but once I hit next, everything froze up. I tried several dvds (new and old) and none of them played at all. While it played for a minute, it skipped on its own and froze up again.

The picture was pretty good and the sound wasn't bad for built-in speakers, but they are of no use if you cant play a dvd in it.

This one is going back.

Great kitchen TV!
This television is wonderful! I bought it for my mom's kitchen and she loves everything about it--the size, the color, the picture quality, and the fact that it has a dvd player in it. It was a great price too!

small white kitchen TV
I purchased this small portable, White tv for my kitchen to replace an under the counter tv/cd/dvd unit (I can't figure out if this new unit is wall mountable). Anyway, it looks great on the counter. Set-up was easy and straight forward. Since my area broadcasts in digital I had to have my cable company come out and install a new cable outlet so I could connect this digital-ready tv, that was less than $30 (I have already wasted too much money & time fooling around with converter boxes). I only watch local tv news in the kitchen while getting ready for work and then again while cooking dinner, so I haven't used the tv's features, but I was surprised when I received the HD channel. The tv sound and picture have been great for what I use it for. After looking for a long while to replace my old unit, I was happy to find this item priced where it was, because many others were higher priced. My use for it is limited, so I didn't want an expensive & complicated unit. DVD, was also a nice add on in this price range!!

Great Little TV.
After reading every review here, I ordered this white tv for my kitchen. I like everything about the tv but the sound quality. As mentioned by others-there are times when the sound is almost nonexistent unless you are in hearing distance. Other times, it's fne. Set up was so easy. Take it out of the box, hook it to my cable and I'm in business. There is a warm-up delay of about 10 seconds or so. Usually get my morning beverage while it's waking up :). Love the widescreen and the clarity of the picture. I also like that you get to choose the picture view you want.

Oddly, the DVD sound is quite loud compared to the tv side. It also does a good job. It's a nice addition. So, my only complaint is the sound. If you are looking for a small addition for any room in the house--this is it. Enjoy!

Nice little tv for the price. Cannot be wall mounted. Fits nicely under cabinets. Takes a while to turn on. DVD player works great. Picture and sound is very good.

Takes a long time to change from one channel to the next but for the price and quality I can live with it. Fit's great in our camper, the perfect size.

Very disappointed in this TV
I purchased this TV in Nov. 2008 after our other under counter TV was fried during a power surge. I was first disappointed when I received it because it didn't have closed captioning (I'm hard of hearing), but that was ok I just turned the volume up. Now the picture has gone black (you can still hear the sound). For about 1 week you could turn it on/off again and the picture would come back on but now it is black all the time. It hasn't even been 2 years yet!!! I think $245.00 is a lot of money to have not work in this short of time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!

Under cabinet review
I recently installed the under counter TV and it has worked pretty good. I've only been using it for 1 month and so far i have no real complaints. The only issue i had is with the screws that came with the TV were 3". I actually needed 3.5" or longer because of my cabinet. In all i made it work but it was a bit difficult to find those screws. I would recommend this product.

The quality of this product is a bad joke
We bought one of these in February, 2009. As other reviewers have said, what option was there? We knew that we were taking a risk due to the many negative comments.

After a couple of months, the clock display disappeared. Then a couple of months later it came back, just as mysteriously as it had left. Then, the front panel buttons began to fall off one by one, making it impossible to operate the unit without its remote. Then the clock disappeared again.

We lived with all of this without much stress, since the picture and sound were good (using a large exterior antenna; we've never used the DVD). But recently, the unit has taken to turning itself on and off! That's right, it turns itself ON at random times, as well as turning itself off in the middle of what we are watching. So now, we have it unplugged unless we are actually watching it.

The whole situation would be funny if there were an undercabinet TV of a decent quality available anywhere. We are now going to try a 15 inch standard TV that will just barely fit into the space, and mount it ourselves. We recommend that you do the same, if that is possible.

OK, if you're not too picky about the picture
I actually own two of these units. They both work reasonably well, but the LCD backlight is too bright on one (washed out) and the other is too dim (dark picture). User-available adjustments help only a little, but since backlight adjustment is not a user control as it is on more expensive sets, and the service company refused to give me the necessary info to get into the service mode, what you see is what you get, forever.

They will repair the set if it's out of warranty for a flat fee of $45 plus cost of shipping one way, but what you will get back is a refurb unit and they may or may not have adjusted it correctly, they obviously could care less. In this case, I wouldn't send it, because it's not actually broken, just improperly set up at the factory.

Other than that issue, sound is OK, TV/radio tuner is OK, and there are few better options for an under-cabinet system for the price. The remote is REALLY small for large fingers, but works OK. Clock and radio station presets are lost if power is lost.

Audiovox does not actually manufacture these units; they share the identical internal components with the Venturer KLV series, all made in China. Service is provided by Venturer in Canada.

I liked the streamlined appearance. It was easy to install. The picture quality was very bad. It was necessary to adjust the contrast/brightness etc every time the channels were changed. Also,if you don't stand directly in front of it the picture is very dark. In addition, there was a manufacturing defect. Each time the channel was changed with the remote, the screen had a white flash and made a popping noise. Best part-- easy to return to Amazon and get a refund!

Happy!
It's a perfect TV for our travel trailer. So light to lift/carry, nice look, great picture and features,
and love having the DVD player in the TV for space purposes. Had read other comments about the sound volume,
and agree, it could be louder - even at it's highest it isn't that loud. But, something that can certainly
be lived with. A way to cope with this is to use a headset, or for two people use a headset with a splitter.
Louder this way. I would certainly buy this product again!

Big TV for 22 inches
This little TV is great for the price. It seems much bigger than 22 inches. I use it in a bedroom and it works great. Built in DVD, PC capable and HDMI for other components as well as hooked up to my laptop for watching movies via a HD loaded with movies. Not sure why others complain about the sound quality... it's just fine and loud enough for a small/ medium size room. The "Toshiba" light at the bottom of the set can be turned off, just go through the menu and deactivate it. Can't beat the price.

we purchased this for my daughter and all of us a very pleased. It's actually our first flat screen TV and oh my gosh it's just wonderful. Picture is great as well as color and sound quality. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great small room / bedroom tv
The reason sound volume is a big issue for some that review this tv is that they're trying to use a small size set in a larger room. This tv isn't designed for a medium to large room; it's perfect for a small condo living room or bedroom. The tv isn't that big ... and you're not going to be sitting that far away from it if you want to get good viewing. If you want a medium to larger room tv this isn't it ... there are plenty of great buys out there for larger tvs that are going to be more appropriate for those applications. But if you're looking for a second or third tv for the bedroom or small play room this will be a good choice (espeically with the built-in DVD player); and you'll find the sound level to be fine - in a way, the sound volume is a plus because kids/guests, etc. won't be able to turn the volume up to a level that's going to disturb you at night while being used in a room next to you!

Excellent TV
Easy set up for this non tech person -set up took about 15 minutes. Picture and sound are of excellent quality. I purchased this brand as I have another Magnavox in the bedroom which has lasted 15 years and never had a problem with it. Don't hesitate to buy this product--it's worth every penny. Sound Quality is Horrible
I would not recommend purchasing this Toshiba TV. I would also recommend checking how loud other Toshiba TV's before purchasing it. That's what I should have done on this one. I purchased this for my bedroom and the sound quality is so poor we cannot even have a fun running in the same room and be able to hear this TV. Everything has to be turned off and even then you cannot be any further than just a few feet in order to hear it.

OK for broadcast TV, NOT for watching DVDs
We experienced the same problem noted by many other reviewers. The sound volume and quality problem made this unit pretty much useless for watching DVDs, and worse than useless for watching movies in other languages, where speech clarity is of paramount importance.

We upgraded to the 26" model, which was somewhat better. Only after hooking up a Sony soundbar/woofer system were we able to truly enjoy movies.

ONE BIG PROBLEM: these Toshiba models have only a digital coaxial audio output (no HDMI), and it's hard to find a decent, affordable external system that has digital coaxial input; most don't. The Amazon "technical information" doesn't indicate this severe limitation.

Quality Product
Has good picture and works great. Speakers aren't the best, but looking to add external speakers to enhance enjoyment.

excellent all in one TV with DVD player
This is a personal sized TV with integrated DVD player that weighs next to nothing and is very compact and very easy to use for the most part. The menu structure for selecting input source is more than a little confusing and when power is cut off to the TV all the settings are lost. Toshiba should have had separate button control to switch from one input to the next but bad user interfaces is pretty much the norm with electronic devices and computers.

But for a small and compact TV and DVD player to use where a larger TV and separate DVD player will not fit this is a great alternative. It has standard VESA mount screws so the base can be detached by removing 2 screws and the TV attached to a wall bracket for use.

Volume is adequate for normal listening but not for a home theater experience. For that it would be best to feed the sound out to a separate amplifier and set of speakers.

I have friends who spent thousands installing a LCD monitor and amp and speakers in their RV when this $200 unit would have served the purpose.

Great TV - Happy we bought it
We were a little concerned about the reports of low volume, but hoped it was only that the issue was with use with a cable box. There's a way to change your settings to optimize the sound delivered from your cable company's box [HD in our case] -- check with them. The sound levels are just fine on the TV. All in all, this is a great price for a great product. Lightweight, attractive, and this is our 2nd flat-screen LCD Toshiba, so happy we were with our first.
