A favorite of many, but some downsides to be aware of
Burt's Bees makes good natural body products, and this balm is natural-- mostly beeswax, with sunflower seed oil, mint, vitamin e, lanolin, rosemary, glycerin and canola oil.

It goes on rather thick and pasty, and tastes of mint. However, it does not heal the cracks in my lips due to the slightly irritating nature of mint oil (for me) and because I'm slightly sensitive to lanolin, like many people. I find this is not very helpful for my chapped lips, and I prefer other brands.

The good thing about this balm is that it stays on and if you are out in the cold, it provides a protective layer due to the beeswax. Many people like this balm, especially men, but I find I'm a bit sensitive to it and it doesn't work well for me.

Once you go Burt's, you never go back!
This is the real deal! I tried them all and then decided to shell out an extra 50 cents to try Burt's original. It has a cool, refreshing peppermint-ish kick that cools your lips and moisturizes. I will never go back or even bother tying any other kinds of lip balm now. This is indeed the best! Amazons under $10 for 4 is better than Walmart by a couple bucks so you might as well get them here.

I don't however, like any other of their varieties because they don't refresh your lips anywhere near as well as the original formula does.

sooooooo disappointing
had such high hopes for the product from the other reviews. Sadly, smells like foul dog treats/wet dog/dog food/ick...smell so bad I can't even give them as gag gifts. too bad.

Warning: Women will not kiss you
I ordered this as a gift for my friend who is a HUGE bacon lover, with extra to spare for myself and anyone else I felt like gifting.

Upon arrival, I applied nearly immediately, and snuck up on my wife to give her a smooch. She figured out SUPER fast what was going on, and pulled away. This, from a woman who loves bacon.

Apparently love of bacon does not extend to lips for women. My friend's experience with his wife was pretty similar.

That said, the love of women is really not necessarily that important when your lips taste like bacon that you can enjoy on your own... However, the bacon taste on this tube of flavor is ehhh. The flavor that really comes through is smoke more than bacon...more like slightly overcooked bacon.

All in all, this is a fun experiment to try out, but I doubt you'll be using it as your daily lip balm. Better stick to its use a fun gift (or mid-day minor bacon escape).

My wife hated this stuff.
I'm a creative gift-giver, so when I saw this product, I thought my bacon-loving/ chap-stick wearing wife would totally love it. Not so.

Now I have to redeem myself this Christmas. Any ideas?

I purchased based on reviews, as a diet-aide joke for some of my friends. Only one of them was brave enough to try it (I couldn't after taking one whiff). The brave soul could not wipe it off fast enough. Dogs might love the stuff - but humans, save your money!

Berry-able
I picked up Medicated Berry in lieu of my usual scented Chapstick because it was cheaper. It's a similar 15oz tube and Medicated Berry also has SPF 15 which is important; most people forget to protect their lips from the sun. Initially, there was a soft-medium berry scent but I could also smell the slight medicinal scent underneath. It wasn't unpleasant, by far, but not as sweet as Chapstick. Since the initial use, I can barely smell the berry at all, just a hint of medicine. Again, not entirely unpleasant but I would like a bit more from a scented product.

It leaves a shine to the lips and a slight waxy feel but if you're looking for colour, Medicated Berry adds none. I sometimes feel the need to reapply but never have horrible chapped or dried lips which is a good sign during the dryer, winter months.

Blistex Medicated Berry is only okay. I'd pick it up if there were no other options but I was disappointed the scent didn't last because that is obviously the selling point.

Blistex Berry Balm = Lifesaver (Lipsaver?)
I have been using the Berry flavor of Blistex for YEARS--anyone who knows me knows that I am never without it in my purse, nightstand, makeup kit, desk drawer, etc. I have found it, by far, the best lip balm I have used. It is NOT waxy and it glides on smoothly to make lips soft and smooth. I MUCH prefer the berry flavor to some of those nasty fake-tasting mint and other flavors.

I was absolutely amazed and disappointed when my local stores stopped carrying the Blistex Berry. I tried several other types of Blistex and disliked them all, either because of the flavor, fragrance or texture. Having been a serious Blistex Berry addict for many years, I was really bummed--and then I found out that Amazon sold it! YAY! So now I buy Blistex Berry by the case.

I even give several of my friends a tube of Blistex Berry as a stocking stuffer for Christmas every year and they've come to expect it! :)

This product is great and the Berry is the best flavor. I bought a box of 24 for a family member so she could keep one handy in various places as her lips are always so dry. She's used only Berry Blistex for years now because she says it works best for her.

The best by far!!
I've used like every type of lip balm and Chapstick junk you can find, and this stuff, for sure is the absolute best!! I'm not sure about the other scents, but the original is amazing. I've noticed that with most other lip balms, that you have to reapply it, it almost seems that your lips become addicted to them and that it needs it in order to stay moist. Well not with this stuff. I put it on at night before I go to bed and my lips are soft and smooth for a few days.

Real lip therapy for men
Why bother spending $6 on Jack Black lip balm? Easy...women are into soft lips all year long. Put this on every night before bed...or during the day after you eat/brush. You won't need much, and the natural ingredients and lack of petrolatum means your lips will not shine like a Vegas showgirl's. (By the way...keep it clean...wash your hands and squeeze some on your finger tip.) Look, if you have ever spent more than $8 on a pair of socks, or then you get it. The good stuff costs more for a reason.

One of the best!
I LOVE this balm! It's not heavy or waxy. Your lips will soak this in (not just sit on top of them). The taste is minty and fresh without being over-powering. Jack Black and Burt's Bees lip balms are my absolute favorites!

great stuff
I really like this lip balm. I have used the "regular" BB lip balm and something about this one is better. The smell is grate and it glides on much smoother and lasts longer. It isn't sticky yet smooth and soothing. My fav lip balm on the market for dry lips. I prefer this to chapstick and even over some of those gel tube types.

Finally, I found a good one....
I am not a fan of ALL Burt's Bees products but this one is my favorite and a winner. Not too heavy and not too light, it coats well and has an amazing scent. As a person who never smelled pomegranate, I was unsure of trying it, but was tired of the original scent. But I am glad I did. I wish they could make a variation without coconut oil as my husband can not have this on his lips because of allergies. I have one in my purse, one on my desk, and I keep one by my bedside.

Chapstick never worked for me, but this product does. I consider this more of a preventive product than a 'healing' product. If your lips are extremely chapped and this product isn't solving it, try a light coating of Aquaphor on your lips, it helped me one day when they were so brittle and dry.

not what I expected...
We loved the original lip gloss in the twist top container and I thought the product would be the same. The packaging is brilliant, but the lip gloss is not as good and has a very sweet taste.

Best lip balm
Natural Ice soothes and protects my lips without leaving a thick residue. My lips and the skin around it has been irritated by other lip balm in the past, but not this one. I love the cherry flavor as well! I have seen Natural Ice being sold at some Japanese grocery stores in San Diego, but have not found them anywhere else besides online.

Simply the best lip balm on the market!
I've been using Natural Ice for over 12 years. I ALWAYS have a stick in my pocket. I used to purchase from a supplier in bulk, but they stopped carrying it for some reason, so I began trying other brands to find a replacement. I can't explain how much better the Natural Ice is compared to all the others I tried! Some were very expensive too. I'm thrilled to find it available on Amazon. This stuff does not feel waxy or leave a residue like most others. Plus, since I keep it in my pocket, it doesn't melt like many of the others I tried. Give it a try.

Good chapstick, Cooling relief
So my lips tend to get really chapped in the winter time as well as my hands bleed sometimes from being chapped. I hate the way that chapstick and lotion feels so I usually just let it go. But when my knuckles bleed, it's time to put some lotion on. I tend to wait until it's too late to put moisturizer on. Anyways, I bought 1 stick of this stuff for 3.00 on ebay and you can get 12 sticks for 15 dollars here on amazon. I didn't need that many, plus I wanted to test it before buying that many. This stuff is pretty good. I was looking for a chapstick that gives you that cooling relief to let you know it's working and soothes the lips. It gives a normal amount of cooling relief and I like it. The smell is very similar to chewing tobacco mint flavored. It's not too strong but you notice it when you first put it on. It also has SPF 15 so in the summer at the beach this stuff will be great. I read all the great reviews here on Amazon and needed something with that cooling relief so I tried it out and I'm glad I did. I am still searching for Aveeno's Cooling Relief Lip Balm because that stuff is amazing and worked very well, but this is a good substitute and probably a lot cheaper. This stuff lasts longer than the regular chapstick I think and it's easier to put on I think. Either way if you have really bad chapped lips, don't wait to buy this stuff, you won't regret it!

Product is the best of its kind
The Mentholatum company is located in Buffalo, N.Y. I live in a suburb of same but cannot find this product locally. You can imagine how happy I was to find that Amazon could ship this item to my home. We have used this product for years. My son, especially missed it. How happy he was when he found that part of his Christmas gift from his parents was a case of Mentholatum lip balm. Thank you Amazon.

End of Chapped Lips
This is the first time I tried their medicated lip balm. The menthol smell is the only thing I didn't care for in this product. Since the smell quickly diminishes it is a non issue. This product relieves the dryness much longer than their other balms. I put in on in the morning before I apply my lipstick, once in the afternoon and again before bed. My lips were very dry and chapped previously but this product has resolves the problem.
